I used to love eating sushi here (10-15 years ago), and when I happened to be in the area this evening I decided to stop in. Ive eaten a lot of sushi, all over the world, and sadly the quality of Akiras ingredients (or maybe the preparation?) has apparently become lackluster, and the same can be said for the service, which was friendly but poor. I sat at the bar for several minutes before the waiter even came to say hello and take my drink order. The sushi chef didnt even greet me. My sake (which was served far too hot) didnt come until after I was having my soup, and the waiter didnt pour me a cup to start, which was rather rude in my opinion. The negi hamachi maki was so-so, the baby octopus was not as good as I remember it (and oh, it used to be SO good), and the sunomono (not the one I ordered, btw) was too bitter, probably from a mediocre ponzu sauce or god knows what else. Also, it appeared to have been sort of lightly sprinkled with the ponzu instead of marinated in it, speaking of which, there were no vegetables whatsoever "marinated" with the seafood. Idk why it tasted so badly. I still cant get the bitterness out of my mouth, and this is coming from someone who drinks copious quantities of green tea...

I recently went for my nieces birthday. It was my first time at the restaurant and my last. It took over 30 minutes for the waitress to even come back with our beverages. Our Chef did not come out until about 45 minutes after. However, that was not the issue the issue was the shrimp. A few of us ordered shrimp and I noticed right away that a majority of my shrimp was not deveined properly. I brought it to the attend of others in our party. I decided to just not eat the shrimp and to not make a fuss about it. Someone else in our party decided to let the manager know. Long story short, the manager claimed that, that is how they serve their shrimp and that if she didnt like it to not order it on her next visit. After hearing that I decided that I would not be returning to Akira. Their service is lacking and the food in my opinion was not that great.

This place is horrible. I sat in the dinning area . They cooked my food wrong. When I sent it back the chef came out with a serious attitude. When I told him why I thought the food was wrong, he took it back and brought a piece of the steak out and cut it open and insisted that I look at it. I ask for the manger, she said she would have my food cooked again. But the chef said he was not going to cook it again. I giving this place a one because the manager did come up with a solution. She had my food cooked in the hibachi area and comped my meal. But by this time I had been so disrespected by the waiter and the chef. I will never go back to this place.

This place is an institution as far as Im concerned. Great staff all-around. In around 100 Ive honestly never had a bad dining experience. The food is always good to.the degree that I expect to overeat at every occasion. The lunch deals are very good. I also recommend the house salad with ginger dressing. Im not afraid to admit that I drunk the leftover dressing in the bottom of the bowl, its that good.

Long wait on a Saturday night but the hostess took our cell to let us know when to return. We took a stroll through nearby stores to wait. The chef and food were both wonderful! I took home a whole second meal worth of leftovers too!

Food is better than Benihana and staff is always friendly. The owner is a sweetheart and it shows that she cares about her restaurant. With lunch specials even on sundays and quality food every time you cant go wrong here!

Ive had a consistently good experience here. The hibachi chefs have always been nice and cooked to order, the wait staff has varied for fair to excellent. I would go here over many other hibachi locations locally any day.

Worst place I have been to. Service is terrible. Sat for 25 minutes with no greeting, not even water. Overpriced, rice was old. Manager was so rude. Do not waste your time. It will ruin your night.

So far been a nightmare, incompetent hostess keeps delaying the wait times. Keeps getting manager to try and fix her mess. Additionally the wait time has increased by 30 minutes as we wait.
