Greasy sushi ??? I hope they read these reviews and make corrections or they will be out of business. Friday night 7pm place was empty. The plate was covered in oil... WTF. Three shots of moonshine couldnt get the oily taste and feel out of my mouth when I got home...DBL WTF. 1st time there. Tiny place with a few tables. I sat at the sushi bar. Ordered hot sake and the Spicy Tuna roll. Sake was good, roll was 8 pieces, small diameter with them arranged two down, two up, two down, two up. I made the soy sauce with wasabi. First bite was uncomfortably hot. FJ roll was next with tuna, cream cheese and alvacado. Cream cheese is a little weird in a roll. Couldnt eat the Hurricane Roll. Nuclear hot with consentrated wasabi. Sipping sake not understanding the greasy feel in my mouth it was on the way home I realized this was the worst sushi I have ever had. Canola oil is bad for you. Look it up on the net. Its from a genetically modified plant. They were trying to produce a light weight machine oil like WD 40. The name "Canola" is derived. "Ca" is from Canadian. I honesty think its non digestible and your body stores it in your shin. Exposure to lead goes into your teeth. 12 hours later I still have the greasy feel in my mouth. Eat here at your own peril. Ill never go there again.

The rolls tasted fantastic! Unfortunately thats all I can say. My favorite sushi restruant in NSB was closed today so I thought Id try YU-MI even though I hadnt heard the best reviews from people on my street. I eat sushi very frequently and have never had a problem. These gave me hives on the back of my tongue. No idea why, considering Ive taken allergy tests before and havent been allergic to anything. But not being able to swallow after eating raw fish (I eat raw fish normally, and have not had problems after this restruant) really sucks. I would go somewhere else. Really, its not worth a doctors visit to find out if you have roundworm.

This restaurant is great if you want to go out and have a good time with a couple of friends. The restaurant is best known for its sushi rather than their other entrees. The price can be a little high with sushi rolls ranging from $5-10/ roll. But Wednesday nights there is a special offering $10 rolls for $7. I have never had a bad experience when visiting this restaurant and have even received free food as compliments of the chef. The decor is nice but it can be a little dark in the restaurant. The staff is friendly even when overwhelmed. Id recommend this place to anyone looking for sushi in the Port Orange area. Overall: 4/5

Ive eaten there 2 times before and had a mediocre experience, but when I went yesterday for lunch with a few of my coworkers our experience was awful. Everyones teas were sour, the miso soup did not taste right at all, and my entree was not good. Other than the fact one of coworkers sushis avocado was brown. My entree tasted nothing like teriyaki chicken and thats what I ordered. Im disappointed because I have heard such great reviews, and my experience was not.

Amazing sushi, they have a few other choice entrees but Yu-Mi is meant to be a sushi bar. Recommendations for new comers. The Dragon Roll is great, tempura shrimp, crab, and eel topped with avacado. Its a sweeter dish and has no sashimi in it. I would highly recommend the Tokyo Love Story roll as well. It has three different kinds of sashimi in it, cant remember what though, and its topped with a spicy mayo mix heated in the oven. Great service, great food.

Fabulous service, exquisite food, and cool atmosphere. This is my favorite restaurant in Volusia county. Google maps is rather confusing- the restaurant is tucked away to the left of Big Lots. Check it out- youll keep coming back :D.

Absolutely delicious sushi. If you can make it Wednesday night they have all rolls for $7. This is an unbeatable deal! Weve tried just about every roll on the menu.

I like my sushi place without the Habachi grill. Also, I like its cozy interior. Most awesome sushi place in Japan are small and tucked away, just like Yu Mi.
