Update as 5/1/17: Apparently the family has recently sold this location, now with a new name of Izumi. I have yet to dine there with this new management. The review below is for the last incarnation of this location. WONDERFUL little family owned gem with HIGH grade sushi to boot! Wonderful, extensive menu and an attentive and helpful staff ALONG with presentation beyond anything you would expect from the Youngstown area, Fushimi takes sushi, Japanese and Asian cuisine to a whole new level! Rarely, and I do mean RARELY do find a dining establishment where the owners and management make it a point to stop and say HI to each and every table table and inquire as to your happiness with your selection and service EACH and every time you visit! These good people, a husband and wife team, also own Pho Saigon, right up the street on South Ave, also in Boardman and albeit a far more downscale restaurant, you are offered the SAME high quality, attention and service. PLUS a surprise piece of Fried Cheesecake for my birthday, on the house! When was the last time you could COUNT on consistency, service and quality, not at a "break the bank" type of price point?? Pictured is the 12 pc Sashimi, chefs choice I had for my big day. What a fresh, wonderful mouthwatering treat. Fushimi, you have made TRUE loyalists outta of us! Even those of us at this party not into sushi are now hooked...but you be sure and GIMME my sushi!! Thank You! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

This is, hands-down, the best sushi place Ive ever eaten at. Ive been all around the US, in SF, Boston, NYC, Pittsburgh, and nowhere have I had better sushi for the price. No joke. It blows my mind that this is just a place in Boardman. Not exactly the closest place to me, but always worth the drive. They give you a huge amount of food for the price, and the presentation is always gorgeous. Dont be fooled by the sort of drab exterior of the restaurant, the inside is modern, clean, and sleek. The waitresses Ive had have always been perfect and even remembered me. Pro tip: get whatever the special sushi is. Its always good. And if you want a TON of food for a low price, go with the Bento Box. 5/5!

This is an amazing restaurant that people need to know about visit. All the food Ive had there has been very good, from hibachi to sushi, its clear that they know what theyre doing. Prices are good, service is excellent and the décor and ambiance are up to par. Go there for an easy going, casual meal or for a special occasion like a romantic dinner or birthday gathering, either way youll have a great experience. A true gemstone in Boardman Youngstown that youd expect to see in a big city like LA or new New York city.

Today was the first visit to Fushimi and I must say that it did not disappoint!! The restaurant is clean, spacious and modern. Service was excellent. Servers were attentive without hovering. That leaves the food. What can I say besides OUTSTANDING!! Presentation was awesome and the food was hands down the best of its type in the Valley and I have frequented every one of them.

LOVED IT! I really hope this place stays around. Their sign says "best sushi in town" and they are not exaggerating. We went in at 9pm and we were one of three tables. The service was still friendly and helpful but most importantly, their sushi was delicious and very fresh! They gave us a beautiful presentation and pulled out all the stops. Such a gem to find in Youngstown!

Got the sashimi delux. It was nicely arranged and was all very good. The first piece of yellow tail I had was still slightly frozen in the middle but overall everything was fantastic. The staff came and checked on everyone consistently and were most concerned with the customers needs and opinions of the food. They seem to really want to do well here!

The food and the atmosphere was amazing. Although, our waitress was very disruptive and rude. Whenever she would walk by, she would ask questions about the conversation we were having. Once we were paying the check, I was getting my card out, and she stood there and held her hand out waiting for it.

Good food (teriyaki chicken and hibachi salmon), beautiful presentation and good, friendly service from multiple staff members. Manager came over to apologize and explain about the lack of their liquor license. It is in the works, but in the meantime they are allowing byob. Will definitely go back.

I love Izumi! Ive been coming here since before they got new owners and really spruced it up. Now I love it even more. The atmosphere is gorgeous and makes you want to come back. The food and sushi are better than mizu and sawa combined!! Plus the mochi is to die for. Always coming back!

I travel for a living & get to eat Asian food all over. This food is good including rolls & sushi, especially for ytown/boardman area, but could be great if they used seasoning(not salt or msg) and a good homemade brown sauce for hibachi.

The sushi WhiteTiger Roll was my first time really enjoying the white tuna! I have never liked tuna in sushi but Fushimi it was so good & fresh! I also got the philly roll but asked for tempora crunch inside the roll! Thank you sushi chef

Wow I am setting at the table and writing this. The lunch deal was soup and 3 logs for $10.50 I added the squid salad and drink under $20. The quality was impressive. And no kidding right off the interstate. I am real happy I tryed it.

Everything from the appearance of the food to the decor of the restaurant was amazing. We had the sashimi for 2 and it was without a doubt the best Ive ever had, portions were generous and price was good.
