Customer service wasnt bad. Granted they didnt know much, they were relatively nice. Tried to order something on the menu and wanted to get chicken instead of pork. So the person taking our order said "ummmm that comes with pork". So we asked if we could get chicken, again. She then walked over to the picture and said "these all have pork. I dont think we can do that." even though the sign said pork or chicken. Finally didnt get it and finished my order. Went to the drink machine and they were out of cherry flavor, shame but whatever, then tried to get something else and couldnt click on it. As the line piled up behind me I about gave up on it but finally got some help. The food wasnt terrible but far from good. I had to put white sauce, which was also sub par, to make a decent flavor. Rice was slightly under cooked and easy on the seasoning. The texture of the chicken was poor and felt uncooked. Maybe a place I would try again in another day but not any time soon.

First time eaying here Ive been to many Japanese restaurants including higher end and I was impressed. Very good quality for the price and so much food. . I always get chicken and steak. The chicken was very tender. I love they have packets of white (seafood, yum yum) sauce which is plenty but they also give you a small cup for extra or spicy white sauce as well as ginger. I normally get water so i just wish I didnt pay for a drink, seemed like the sodas were too carbonated and needed refill but it happens.

The smallish size rice bowls another person commented on are literally labeled as junior. As in a junior portion fit for a kid or as a large snack. The standard rice bowls are quite large and are difficult to finish. Food is great. My absolute favorite takeout Japanese restaurant chain. This location is great, but if you order sushi it will take a while. Yes, they do have a drive through...and yes, you can order online and pick up in drive thru.

The thing to remember with SOJ is that it is FAST FOOD. When you take that into consideration it is exceptionally good. If you are comparing it to traditional Hibachi style food you will probably be disappointed. The prices are reasonable and the service is generally good, but with any fast food establishment that can be hit or miss, but again it is FAST FOOD.

Mediocre food and terrible service.... While Im pretty sure the owner is here. He didnt attempt to help at all with the lunch rush. My steak and mushroom bowl literally had 2 slices of mushrooms in the entire thing. This was the one in the plaza with bed bath and beyond.

For fast food Japanese, its pretty good! Had the sashimi bento and there was soooo much included and the sashimi slices were large. The edamame couldve been a little fresher as well as the salmon (mine was a good slice, but my boyfriends was a bit off).

Poor service experience , the counter was not willing to alter the order and exchange vegetables, I suppose broccoli is more important than a customer. It must be hard to get in Pooler. I cant speak for the food I didnt get a chance to eat.

If you can drive a little further, go to one at Berwick plaza on Hwy 17. It is from the same chain,but the food and the staff are SOOOOO much better over there...and NEVER go to the one in Svannah near to BED BATH AND BEYOND.

If you decide to eat here, dont take the drive thru approach. The lines are extremely long and it will be quite sometime before you even reach the speaker. The set up itself is a hassle. But, the food is good.

I think that the chicken is different than it used to be when I ordered the chicken bowl from the Savannah location. It is definitely not as good. But the rest of the menu items taste the same and are good!
