Ive been going to this restaurant since it was a literal hole in the wall on Sawmill Road, and loved it because the service was good and the food was amazing. And when they expanded, years ago, and turned it into an atmospheric, sit-down affair, the service was still good and the food was still amazing So now that theyve opened a new branch, and the old location is a different name (still owned by the same family) -- how are they? Happily, only the location has changed. The service is still good, and the food is still amazing. We had four people in around 5:30 on a sunday. We were the only people there, initially, but more customers filtered in around us. We were greeted quickly and warmly, seated, and given menus. The staff were able to answer questions about the menu and happy to do so. And the food. My gods, the food. They still have the best hot and sour soup I have ever had, period. Their pork fried rice is ambrosial. I had the crazy noodles, which were spicy but not insanely so, my wife enjoyed her three flavors fish, and everyone else had good food choices, without any quibbles. If you like Thai food, you need to visit this place, even if you live on the other side of town. And If you went here before, and wondered if its still good, the answer is yes. On a more personal note: I was very sorry to hear that their proprietor passed away, recently. He was always a polite and outgoing fellow, and treated me like a valued customer, even when he didnt see me for years at a time. I think hell be happy to know his business is still in good hands.

Beautiful decor, friendly service, excellent preparation, and hot, delicious food made this experience one we will repeat. My wife ordered Lo Mein chicken and loved it (as did I when I shared a bite). I took a chance on Strawberry Chicken. That dish is now my favorite restaurant meal in this area. Chicken, vegetables, strawberries, all smothered in a brown sauce with a hint of berry made this meal fantastic. Great egg rolls were our appetizers. $6.95 for a huge plate, and $2.25 for the egg rolls.

The food here is delicious and the atmosphere is even better. We often get takeout and the order is accurate 99% of the time and if its ever not they fix it without question. Service is quick and friendly. While some of the dishes are a little on the pricey side, its well worth the few extra bucks!

I have been eating at the Thai orchid before the Powell location was built. Always excellent service and outstanding selections. The staff is always ready to make your dining experience top shelf. We dont live in the area any longer, but when we are in town we always try to visit one more time....

Excellent thai food! Best weve had in the area. We are vegetarian so weve tried the pad thai (excellent) and the different curries which are tasty. They have a nice To-Go pickup window which is convenient. Also, the restaurant inside is very nice and makes for a good date night out!

Variety of options to choose from. Good food, friendly service and reasonable price. We had the pad Thai which was really good. As most Thai options, few dishes were very oily and saucy. Will go again to try few other dishes on the menu !

Great Thai food in a cozy relaxed setting. Turning the air conditioning on would help though as it was pretty warm during our visit - Id say about 77° or 78°, so it was a little uncomfortable. Nice drink menu. Helps cool you off.

I really wanted to like this place. The restaurant looks great, staff is friendly and attentive. The food is just "ok". It is also overpriced and even getting vegetables is extra with your meal.

This was the second time we went to the Thai Orchid restaurant and the food was excellent and the service was top notch. We had a great experience and the piano player did an excellent job.

They are incredibly friendly and have wonderful music played on the grand piano. We love the food and the ambiance. Delicious Food... as hot or as mild as you request. They are awesome!

Used to love this place but they charge for everything extra, stuggling with anything custom and I just STOPPED going at all since they close for lunch and dont even open until 4 or 5pm.

I think the food was a bit bland...much prefer Bahn Thai...more affordable and better tasting. That being said, the location and ambiance of Thai Orchid is pretty nice.
