Should have known something was up when I came in with a friend at noon and we were the only people in the joint, excepting the staff. Had the "Original Italian" sub and got what looked to be a 50% baloney sandwich. On top of the low grade ingredients, the foreign-born staff arent exactly customer focused. The one restroom had a "closed" sign on it. Manager said it was really open and gave me a key to open it. I have never been to a restaurant where the bathroom is locked up like some run-down, freeway gas station. I had heard Painesville had problems with the homeless, so that is my only guess at the ridiculous security measures. Needless to say, I wont be back.

After a couple of years of eating at this particular Mr. Hero there have been drastic changes in the quality of the food and service. As recently as May 8th, 2009 I was paying for food and immediately noticed they removed the register Lcd to see your total for your purchase. After a very rushed exchange of money I asked for the receipt, and to my avail I was overcharged $.90. This type of business practice gets people in trouble or hurt.Granted ninety cents isnt the end of the world but it was intentional and they are not to be trusted. Good luck eating at this establishment, I wont ever again.

I wanted to used 2.84 on my card, so I told this to the male manager and when he swiped it it was declined. So I went home and Sure enough the 2.84 was on the card. So when I called him and told him he had the nerve to argue and tell me no. Do not go to this restaurant. He the manager never should of told me No i was wrong when I clearly see it on the card.

The place has been remodeled. The staff has always been very nice to us. I feel the prices are high but thats the same with all sandwich joints.
