Ok the only reason I was here because me and my lovely family wanted to have a nice, decent lunch and my grandfather was treating so why not go since I havent been before. I was already kinda turned off and a bit disapointed that they only offered GRAIN-FED beef, and cows are clearly not supposed to be eating that. I didnt even bother to try the hot dogs, because honestly I was just afraid to know what the heck was inside of those anyway. So I finally decided on the chicken tenders and so did my brother. Everyone sat down and heck I was only there for like 5 min because the food was ready. I was dissapointed once again because everything came back BURNT!!!!! As for the actual content of the chicken was decent,ok, sorta edible I guess. Everyone else complained about the chili having no flavor and THATS LITERALLY THE POINT OF THE RETRO DOG!!!!!!! Everyone seemed dissapointed. We finally finished our meal and left. They asked us how the food was, we all just turned our heads with shame.

Retro dog lives up to its name. Car hop service and an option to dine in. The hot dogs are legit. Theyre chart grilled on good buns. Even the veggie dog was tasty! We tried the fries and onion rings too. The fries are the fresh cut kind, very well done. The allow you to build your own concoction by adding a ton of options to create the custom loaded fries, although we went bare. The onion rings were cooked well, but too oily. On the good side they werent the enormous donut sized variety and were coated appropriately. They feature coated and shakes and an old school banana split, well have to come back in the summer to try those years out. Overall a quality hot dog joint, kind of out of the way, but if your in the mood for dogs, its worth the trip.

Keep in mind, this is a diner style drive in restaurant that uses higher end ingredients. As far as the deserts go, every milkshake flavor we have tasted so far has been delicious. Go ahead and try the Retro Dip and act like it isnt one of the best ice cream cones youve had. Frozen vanilla custard covered in chocolate and a little salt, and some caramel at the bottom of the cone?!! Mind blowing. The Chicago Dog and The Hula Ghost Burger are both personal favorites. Lastly, I have never ordered french fries and cheese that had so many huge, fat, delicious chunks of bacon all over it. Ever. It was beautiful. Whether you have been here before or not, you need to try some of the items above. Trust me.

The food is actually pretty good. The root beer is good. The service is always good. The owner is a really good looking brunette who treats customers very good. If they stayed open late theyd have a pretty big bar crowd like sheetz has at night. Its definitely still evolving as a restaurant but the owner is working real hard every day from what I can tell and I hope the word gets around about them.

after paying $10 for a brownie sundae that is Vanilla ice cream & a ton of hot fudge with 4 little brownie bites & a cookie sandwich, we went home I broke the rock hard frozen cookie sandwich in half to find a HAIR in the middle. What a DISGUSTING discovery after wanting to enjoy an icecream sandwich.... I will never go back to this disgusting over priced place again..

The service was so slow. The girl excused herself three times to go make orders while we tried to order. The retro dogs chili was just like skyline. For me, it tastes like cinnamon. So gross! The bun got so soggy it fell apart and couldnt eat it. The dog was too burnt also. The ranch powder on the fries was also too extreme. Little less would be great.

Our meals were eaten before we received our childrens shakes. We even went up to the counter twice to get them and first were told they were coming and then the second time that they were forgotten. The company did nothing to amend the situation. The chili sauce on my hot dog did not taste good. Definitely overpriced.

Ive been looking for a place with better milkshakes than Swensons, so far there have been none. I went here one evening and ordered a Nutella milkshake. When I reached the bottom of my cup there was half of a broken spoon sitting there. Now I understand why the place is always empty while Swensons is packed daily.

Terrible if I could rate minus stars I would rate minus 5 the hot dog I had was burnt and the stuff they called Coney sauce was a spread like substance that was horrible the fries were so salty it made my lips pucker, so they got those 8 dollars but NEVER another penny will I spend at Retro Dog.

This is a fine in or car hop establishment. Great food. Retro burger is huge and I also got the colossal onion rings too much to finish in one setting. The car hop staff was second to none. They were running to customers not walking. Fast service. You will be pleasantly pleased with Retro Dog.

Bought a Groupon to eat here on our way up to an Indians game. It was quick to get our food with large portions. The inside is decorated really cool which matches the outside. Im pretty sure it was the owner that took our order and made sure me liked it so that was a really nice touch.

The good there is excellent and the restaurant its clean. However, the food is expensive. Just a plain hot dog is $3, but the creativity of the food is amazing and their shake selection is huge. Like, over 30 types. Theres so many excellent choices and I love the food.

Theres always an awesome reason to come back over and over again. If not just to enjoy the classics, then at least to try the latest and greatest special creations! Premium quality hot dogs, burgers, classic fries, shakes, and sodas...a must stop for everyone!

Fries were good, but that was it. Dogs were burnt to a crisp, onion rings tasted like cooked in old burnt oil, coney sauce/paste like it had been sitting out all day. Pricey too 2 footlongs, one with coney, fry and onion ring, tiny rootbeer, and shake $22

The place is consistently empty due to the fact that the food is extremely overpriced! On the plus side this means all the clientele are showered, wearing clean clothes, and have all their teeth. Its a nice change form the hot dog aisle in walmart

I think they do a pretty good job, but their location is not ideal for a business. Food is decent, especially the Retro dog. I like the crispiness of it. My fiancee and I enjoy coming here, and I do hope to see more customers in the future.

For 2 hot dogs, 2 fries with toppings and 2 floats, our total was almost $27. The hot dogs arent really that great. The fries were extremely salty. We probably should have known better, its Saturday night and no one is here.
