My three friends and I had a reservation at a hibachi table Saturday night . Upon arriving , we noticed the chairs were in terrible condition . Half the vinyl was peeling away on many of them , exposing the foam beneath . Whatever . We can deal with that . I did order a hibachi meal, my friend ordered sushi - two maki rolls and uni sashimi. Our server was very nice and did her job well. * Chop chop chop * Our chef ( he just seemed like he was so over his job and didnt want to be there ) started preparing the other meals. He proceeded to give a bowl of rice to The other people at the table and work his way on down. He gave a bowl of rice to my friend. Then he scooped up some rice on the spatula and started directing it towards my plate of sushi ( which might My friend, had no available space on it) as My friend realize whats happening, he starts to ask my friend if She want some rice, She said no and as She was shaking her head no, he then proceeds to dump it all over her ginger, wasabi paste, and part of she "premium maki " sushi . She said no several more times, and he just proceeds on down the line giving rice to everybody else. She was not happy at all. I should have gone and spoken with the manager, but I didnt want to ruin the evening by causing a scene and complaining. All in all, the food was good , the service was poor, and the seating was a mess. In hindsight, I should have spoken with the manager. The experience was not worth all the money we paid. We were pretty disappointed in the experience overall , but the food was good . In case you needed details , we were a party of 4 who had 8:30 reservations . If you are standing at the hostess desk , We were seated at the far right grill , on the side nearest to the wall . Thank you, Heather

my girlfriend and i went to wasabi last summer shortly after it had opened on the strip... as we both love japanese food and will try every new restaurant that opens in the area.. HOWEVER, we are regulars at A1 japanese steakhouse.. so when i go to a hibachi grill/sushi bar i have expectations of at least A1... The food its self at wasabi was actually pretty decent... We both got filet mignon hibachi.. which was decent and a california roll that was allright but it was huge... the soup is delicious just like a1s clear soup... the salad is decent.. i dont like the ginger dressing as much as at A1... The only thing that really caught my eye is that with every hibachi meal they give you shrimp with it.. BUT.. now on to the bad.. the waiting staff was very rude.. The hibachi chef, while very nice, didnt have his tricks down at all.. he must of dropped his spatula 4 times.. and he actually threw an egg at a woman while performing his egg roll and missed the catch with his spatula... it broke open all over her drink, her plate, and her shirt.. they barely use any seasoning... and to top it all off the prices are EXTREMELY HIGH... 2 meals and one sushi roll, and $70 dollars later i had a decent meal and poor service... I WILL STICK TO A1!!!

My boyfriend and I went to Wasabi Saturday for our two year anniversary. Wasabi USED to be my favorite place to eat until this past weekend. My boyfriend made us a reservation for 5:30 pm, we were there on time. And they sat us right away. However, they thought it would be a good idea to sit us right up against the bamboo trees seperating the lobby from our table. We were literally up against trees with people leaning on these trees waiting to be sat. It was absolutely horrible! And to make it even better the table on the other side of us was not even a foot away. I felt so uncomfortable like I was eating with everyone else. I think this is very disrespectful for good paying customers who took the time to make a reservation thinking we could enjoy a nice romantic anniversary dinner. Also, we saw the hostests talking about and pointing to where they sat us knowing it was not a good place to seat anyone but they still ignored it and made no attempt to move us to another seat. I will not be going back to Wasabi. Very dissapointing

While the restaurant is beautiful, it left much to be desired -- namely, seasoning. I had the teriyaki steak (comes with miso soup, steamed rice, mixed vegetables, and a salad) and a Philadelphia roll. Everything was served promptly. Cold food was cold and hot food was hot. The good: The rice was cooked perfectly and the roll was fine. The bad: For both the soup and, especially, for the teriyaki steak, it seemed as though the cook had run out of seasoning. To add insult to injury, neither salt nor soy sauce was left at my table. The ugly: After spending 30 minutes in the restaurant, I decided to have some desert. Still 15 minutes before close, I was refused to be shown a menu because the kitchen had closed. The ticket came to about $23. Summary: While the ambiance is lovely, you can certainly find a restaurant where not only they care more about the preparation of the food but, more importantly, the guest. Refusing to serve dessert 15 minutes BEFORE close is unacceptable.

Usually I have no complaints when it comes to Wasabi. Its always a good time, fun & energetic staff and great food. Not what happened at all... Im not sure what was up with this last visit... it was horrible!!! I was so disappointed. I brought a few people whod never been there before. I talked wasabi up for 4 days!!!! What a let down.... Had it of been my 1st time id probably rethink coming back! They wasnt busy at all so Im not sure what was up with the crappy service. Not just one seemed they all was in a mood. Not much entertainment at all... the food was quickly thrown together and then on the plates... not in a good way not like ever before!!! It was a friend of the groups birthday. I told them when we called for reservations and after we got there... they did nothing for her even after the cook had asked about bdays while cooking....nothing! Bad experience... Only Good thing out of it was the desert my son got and didnt like!!!
