Traveling from Pennsylvania to Iowa we stopped overnight in Canton, Ohio. We ate at the Portage St. IHOP on Friday, 8/1/08. We got seated right away (thumbs up!), but I noticed it was warm in the corner booth. I asked the waitress if the A/C was on but she sort of shrugged off my question as if she didnt think it was serious. I repeated that it felt warm and asked what the temp was set at, but she ignored my question again, clearly deciding it was not important; she asked the rest of my family what they would like to drink, leaving me for last. At this point I said Id like a little time to look over the menu to decide on breakfast before I chose whether I wanted milk or OJ. (Later I realized she could have offered to get me some water but didnt.) A few minutes later she came back and we placed our orders; I said I didnt know what came with my breakfast and asked if she could tell me, but she again ignored my question--she actually waited with her pad and pencil while I tried to find the details about my meal on the menu! I got uncomfortable so I gave up and gave her the name of one of the breakfasts. When she brought our juices, I asked if I could change my order to the one with scrambled eggs and crepes and she asked if I wanted toast with it and I said yes, on whole wheat--but when she brought our meals the toast was missing (as was my husbands hashbrowns and my sons sausage). I asked about my toast and she said I had not ordered it; she offered to bring me some if I wanted. Wha--? Flustered, I asked if it was included with the crepes and egg breakfast and she had to say, "no," so I declined. A few minutes later she came back while we were eating to make a point to me specifically that the reason why she had not brought the toast was that I had ordered it with the first breakfast (not true). I stared wondering that "if" she was correct, what good did she hope to accomplish to blame the customer? None. But it also wasnt true. She had mixed up my order and couldnt let it rest. I finished chewing my mouthful of food and then I said very calmly but deliberately, "I know what I ordered. I know what happened." It was the only moment some might say I stepped over a line of etiquette; however, I was polite. I also knew by then that she had upsold my husband and sons breakfasts by not telling them that the hashbrowns and sausages were sides and not included in their meals. THEN, a few minutes after this odd encounter she must have told the manager because he came over to ask, "How is everything? Everything ok?" I appreciate the gesture, but again, his attitude was one of suspicion and tenseness, rather than one of caring. The whole experience was awkward and uncomfortable. I couldnt wait to leave. Next time Im in Canton, I will NOT choose this IHOP.

The only thing going for this place is good food. I have been to the Canton IHop many times, and each time I wonder why I go back. On my last visit my fiance and I were starving, it was about 10pm and we had not eaten since about noon that day. We were seated right away because there were only about 4 other tables full at that time. Our waitress took our drink order and didnt return for over 10 minutes. We placed our orders and waited, and waited and waited. Finally 47 minutes later (yes I timed it), I ask another waitress where our food was. She got out waitress and she then told us, "Uh oh, looks like I forgot to put that in". I was like umm isnt that your job? So she ran to the back and placed our order. We waited about 15 more minutes and our food was brought out. My fiance took a bite and was satisfied with his food. I took a bite, and hmm... I didnt order that. They had to take it back and re-do my order. So almost 2 hours later, I got to enjoy my food. I also got to pay full price for my food and drinks. I didnt even get a coupon or APOLOGY! I will never be back!

We are frequent visitors at this location, and after today we wont be returning. First they brought out my 18 month olds pancake and it was burnt to a crisp. She cant eat a burnt pancake. Then I noticed half of my bacon was burnt, and the other half was flubber - ew. Sent that back as well and they replaced with sausage. Now, it was burnt on the outside and cold as ice on the inside and not to mention the rotten taste. My husband tried as well, it wasnt just me. Move on to my eggs, I got scrambled, and they were really runny and tasted just plain nasty or else I could get past the runniness. Hashbrowns are always hit or miss - but of course they were a miss. Needless to say I now feel sick to my stomach from the two bites I did take

I love eating at IHOP, passing by Canton to see the Hall of Fame decided to eat at IHOP. Got seated fast. At first the server was friendly so we ordered our food.I ordered some coffee. When she came around the second around I reminded her about the coffee she said ok. The food came out with the receipt and no coffee. IT WAS ON THE RECEIPT. I reminded her again and she acted surprise. She was in hurry to get off shift. I know this because as soon we stood up she was out the door. The service was horrible.

Whenever youre travelling and just want some regular food that you know and enjoy, then IHOP will hit the spot. This location was well maintained, but the only issue is the ease of access when leaving the parking lot. You cannot immediately get back onto the street, you have to navigate a little before you can get back onto the road. Food was great, the menu essentially doesnt change from place to place which is great whenever youre looking to eat something you already know of.

We came here for breakfast on Mothers day, when the restaurant I wanted to go to down the street had a very long wait. I have never eaten at IHOP and was impressed! The staff was definitely prepared for the volume of diners. We waited maybe 10 minutes at 930am for a table for 3. The server was excellent, our food arrived quickly, hot and tasty . Full Coffee pot on the table and the server checked back frequently. It was definitely a very nice beginning for my Mothers Day!

Very quick to get seated, even with the big crowd & expected wait. (Which ended up being not very long at all.) We had the most EXCELLENT service here & after being sick for 2 solid weeks, not being able to hardly eat, I was in absolute HEAVEN with ALL of my food. Thank you SO much!! We arent from around here but well most definitely be back!!

As a handful of places to eat after 12am, its pretty nice to catch some breakfast food whenever you might want it. we had some ham/egg/cheese sandwich and it exceeded my expectations. I know a girl who goes here like twice a day so it cant be that bad. Inuits Have Orange Penguins.
