Service is absolutely terrible. Whether the staff is not trained or they have no perception of time is beyond me. Food is absolutely overpriced. $16.00 for Chicken Fajitas? $10.00 for Two tacos? You have to be joking. The food is subpar, at best. Weve gone numerous times hoping it was just our server to find out the entire restaurant is incapable of running a restaurant the correct way. Im a server and felt extremely frustrated to be greeted 15 minutes after being seated and 25 minutes to get my check which came from a server that was not our own. Hope this place fails so a better business can be put in its place (an insanely nice location with exceeding amounts of traffic). Good luck

No surprises, when you choose to visit El Vaquero, you know what youre getting...but my most recent visit to this restaurant warranted a review. I walked in to place an order to go, and while the line of orders before me was 4 deep, and the restaurant was full, I did not expect my meal to be ready in the 5 minute time frame that it was. I was skeptical...looked in my bag, everything appeared to be there, so I left. When I got home, I had a disheveled, thrown together, cold mess that I paid $16 for. El Vaqueros lack of pride and care for their food and their customers enjoyment of the same is sad. Lesson learned. Never again.

We try to frequent non-fast-food places on our occasional travels along I-70. We were sorry to see another Hilliard restaurant wed discovered previously had closed, so we gave this a try, despite the relatively poor reviews that came up via Google Maps. We were so glad we did! Service was prompt and friendly, and our dishes were actually better than weve come to expect from this type of restaurant (usually at run-of-the-mill places you get a swath of blah rice and a glop of souplike refried beans next to whatever the main feature is. I had a very interesting slaw, for example!).

Ordered Take out. Got home and they missed my daughters dinner. Couldnt find receipt. Called them. They stated "we probably didnt charge you". Found receipt later. They DID charge us. Moral of the story.....TRAIN YOUR STAFF....ALL OF THEM....TO TAKE ORDERS ON THE PHONE AND CHECK THOSE ORDERS BEFORE THEY GO OUT. TEACH STAFF NOT TO GUESS WHETHER OR NOT THEY CHARGED A CUSTOMER. Dont guess. We go in and eat sometimes. After this....kinda turns us off. Good food but most likely wont go back. Other choices out there. Nice folks but ill-trained.

We are here literally every week for girls night. Nothing fancy, just a couple of beers and easy, but delicious food. They never disappoint. The staff may not know us by name, but we are always greeted warmly and with a "hey, you were here last week!! Welcome back!!" kind of vibe. Most know our beers and out usual orders. Several waiters walk up and ask how we are every week. Armando, in particular, was always stellar. The staff as a whole is fantastic, but he will truly be missed. Love this place, we will continue to come back week after week. ❤️

THE worst service ever!!!! Every time weve been in there they either forget to put our order in or we have to wait two hours to get our food while everyone else around us is getting their food (including people that got there after us) not to mention the manager-who claims to be the owner- is a joke and doesnt know how to talk to customers. Tonight was there last chance to get it right and I walked out hungry!! I will never return and Ill make sure I let everyone know how horrible they are!!! Wish I could give them 0 stars!!!!!

Today i give a one star review came in for my hour lunch break took us 45 mins to get our plate then once it came out they only had one order an not the second one smh so needless say had to box the one order an take bk to work since i couldnt eat it there now i guess ill have it for dinner an the other person also has to wait till dinner to eat crappy service by far but i will add this is the 1st time in 2 years of eatting there this has happen so hopefully it wont happen again

The place was ok, nice tables, plenty of room for everybody.Draft beer was great and cheap. But when it comes to the food...just disgusting. Paying almost 20 dollars for a steak that was mostly fat and cooked in that much oil that it was the only thing you could taste. The rice was overcooked and i dont want to mention the beans...the only good thing was the tortilla. Anyway service was great, i think another restaurant should hire a couple of those guys.

This is the only Mexican restaurant that I have ever left dissatisfied, and I have visited a number of local restaurants in various States. I ordered Pollo ranchero, but what I got was bits of chicken floating in an over powering mixture of velveeta and enchilada sauce. The meal was inedible. At least the beans and rice were OK. Not from the area, and thank God if this is what is considered a good Mexican meal.

Ive been coming here for about 4 years now. Ive gotten anything from vegetarian to barbacoa. Ive never been disappointed. Fast service, nice staff & its clean even as they are remodeling. Food doesnt taste microwaved or frozen. Prices are pretty decent for the large amount of food you receive. The drinks are big enough to get (me) buzzed off one. I would recommend this place to someone looking for mexican food.

I refuse to go to this location again. Ive had too may problems here. Just recently, I had a problem with a carryout order and the woman in front of me was saying that they didnt add her check up right....It shouldnt be this hard. Ive also ordered lemonade and gotten water on several occasions. The service is mediocre at best. Refills are not easily available.There seems to always be a problem here.

I am not a big fan of the food at this restaurant, it was fine, not terrible but not that good! Lots of people recommend this restaurant to us, however we were fairly disappointed. I have heard the food at the Dublin location is significantly better. We will give another location a shot since the selection fo mexican food in Columbus is slim pickings, but we will not return to this location.

Ive really tried to like this place. But every time the food is so sloppy and plain. The margaritas are sour snd sugary, Im curious how much alcohol is actually in them. The prices are really expensive, so youd expect something a little better. If someone opened another Mexican restaurant in Hilliard, theyd make a killing!

I love Mexican food. I wanted to like this place so i have gone three times and three times was not a fan. Why will I never go back? Rotten tomatoes each time, flies buzzing around me, and rice that I think they cook once a month and keep in a giant tub. My food always looked and tasted old.
