The place was nice inside I order shrimp chow mien shrimp fried rice and egg roll. The chow mien is supposed to come with crunchy noodles but when I go home the only thing that was in the bag was plain white rice. This is chop suey. It sucked. bunch of mushy unrecognizable vegetables. The fried rice and egg roll were just okay. I sure hope that chinas best hurries up and reopens because this is the 3rd chinese restaurant that I have tried since they have been closed and the chop suey/chow mien have all be the same its like they are getting it in batches from the same place. At least when I get it at chinas best it has large pieces of broccoli, carrots, snow peas, water chestnuts and comes in a brown sauce SO GOOD.

Based on the reviews from yelp, urbanspoon, and google, I was prepared for CJ Chan to become my go-to Chinese restaurant. Not so. The food was average - pretty much run of the mill Chinese food that you could find at any similar place (China Wok and Great Wall in Beavercreek come to mind). If the sushi had been great, that would have been a game changer, but it was average as well. I ordered a spicy tuna roll (my litmus test for a new sushi place) and sesame chicken. Both fell short of my expectations. If I want Chinese food, Ill be visiting my current go-to, China Cottage. Great sushi is difficult to find around Dayton, but I like Siam Pad Thai in Kettering or Kabuki in Centerville.

My young daughter and I visited CJ Chans for the first time today. I can say without reservation that it is the best Chinese restaurant I have been to in Dayton. The Sesame Chicken is crispy while my daughters Sweet and Sour Chicken was perfectly battered, without the spongy texture you often see in lower quality preparations. The lunch prices are very reasonable and do not hint at how generous the proportions are. A great hidden gem in an otherwise generic strip mall. I look forward to exploring the menu.

Learned about this place online searching for a Chinese restaurant a good one is hard to come by. Walked in and the place is emaculate clean including the bathrooms the service is wonderful, they are so friendly. I cant express how amazing the food is in this hidden gem, I havent had Chinese food this tasty and good anywhere Ive eaten Chinese food since I was a kid and this place by far is the best.!!!! Definitely will be back, so worth the drive.

This is a great place for sushi. Its a very casual place which means its great for kids and the elderly. The sushi will absolutely blow your mind, but the other dishes such as broccoli and beef are just mediocre. The staff is very friendly and conversate with you. The only thing to watch out for is the placement of this restaurant. Its right next to a cigarette shop, tanning place, and a marijuana store.

I get carryout here from time to time because its close to my house. The food is usually decent, although they have on occasion been skimpy on the shrimp in a dish. The sushi is terrible though - the one time I had it here it was obviously not fresh. In fact, the more I write the more I realize this isnt such a great place. Try North China on Far Hills. Theyre the best and the prices are decent.

I liked this place a lot at first. They had yummy food, quick service and friendly staff. I recently attended the restaurant with some family members and took home my leftovers. The next day I went to eat them when I found some kind of dead, glazed over insect in my chicken! Im not certain of the cleanliness of the kitchen but they really need to address this problem. Will not go back.

Its very small and intimate. It doesnt take long for the staff to welcome you like a regular; they are always pleasant. Authentic, well prepared sushi and Asian meals. If you watch people show up for take-out orders, you will be amazed at how many people love their food. Theres a second location south of Dayton, more modern and larger but still serving great dishes.

“Pretentious Place” My wife and I ate at Salar last night, spent $120 and left hungry. The atmosphere, decor, and vibe is really cool. The establishment is a little too pretentious for our Daytonian taste, but that is their niche target market. It is a taste of trendy NYC located in the Midwest. The waiter was very professional and gave outstanding customer...

My husband and I were ecstatic when we discovered this place. The staff is always friendly and prompt to take care of their guests. The food.. oh the food. Even as a vegetarian we are able to eat like kings and queens for an incredibly reasonable price. This became our "regular spot" after our first visit. Try it! Guaranteed you will love it!

It is really good Chinese food, and good sushi. I had the Singapore Noodles and tuna sushi. I loved the Singapore noodles and it was two meals. The tuna sushi was very tasty, but was just a little tougher than tuna sushi normally is, it was still very good but worth noting. Im going back again today and will try the sushi again at somepoint.

I read the reviews and decided to try it on my lunch break. When I got there I was not greated or even acknowledged, they were busy I was patient the guy ahead of me ordered then they went right on to the people behind me. Thats when I left. For a first impression it was terrible and I will most likely not even give them a try

Quality food. One of my friends from China argues that it doesnt resemble Chinese food, but my argument is that the food is good regardless. Ive tried many "Chinese" restaurants before this, and was mostly disappointed. Cj Chan was the first Chinese restaurant in the US that Ive ended up liking.

The drinks were very good, the atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious. A steak dinner runs around $40, but it was the best steak dinner Ive had in a restaurant for a very long time, rivalling the steaks I cook on the grill at home (I pride myself in my grill ability).

This is one of my favorite Asian restaurants in the Dayton area. They have an excellent selection of Chinese and Japanese food. The sushi is always tasty. I love their noodles. Good service and great prices for lunch. My new favorite dish is the Hibachi Chicken.

Store bought 2 liter soda. Sushi is minced fish not sushi grade cuts. Entrees on the menu are cheap Chinese food grade meals. Menus offer no description of the vegetables or items contained in the entree. Wont be back, obviously. Dont know how its so well rated.

Easily the best Chinese/Japanese place around! The house-made teriyaki on the Chicken on a Stick is AMAZING. The food always comes out perfect and delicious. HIGHLY recommend. Although, not my first choice for sushi, they still have great sushi as well!

Great food done in minutes. Have yet to have anything I didnt love. Best for carry out since dining area is very small. If you live within 15 minutes of this place order and leave it will be ready when you get there. Might just name my first child CJ.

I just sat down to try the chicken teriyaki with salad and miso soup. The soup is not bad and the salad was yummy. However, the chicken teriyaki was so bland it just tasted like plain grilled chicken. Not the best. I expected more by the reviews.
