The food is typical "out of the box" for the most part. I was there with a party of 7 other people. Weve all been in before. We all liked the pie but thought the food did not reflect the good "home cooked" quality expected. HOWEVER: We ALL agreed the place needs a good cleaning. Starting with the front door (dirty handle and glass) to the fixtures and surfaces in the restaurant that are sporting a fairly thick layer of dust and grime, The place is just not clean. Looks dingy..We ALL agreed to NOT return because we werent comfortable withe the lack of cleanliness that we could observe. Who knows what we cant see in the food prep areas? On an earlier visit, we questioned a young cook about Serve Safe training certification and he had no idea what we were talking about. We are neighborhood folks and sincerely want this place to do well. We drive by often and know there is a fair amount of business. But there would be a lot more if you had a sparkling clean image and just a little extra effort in the kitchen. Wouldnt hurt to display a Serve Safe Certificate. The course is a good investment. It give patrons a degree of confidence that your staff has been thoroughly trained in the rules of proper food handling safety. It is required in every food establishment in Greene County and can be observed in every Wendys Ive ever been to. Bottom line: At the very least, clean it up. Soap is cheap.

Server was pleasant but more interested in getting off work. Was not offered drink refills and when I asked for Italian dressing I was brought a raspberry vinaigrette. When asked for Italian, I was told that was their Italian... Brisket was dry, Mac n cheese was bland, and twice baked potatoe was just that on top. Underneath it was a. baked potato. Chicken tenders dry and hard in places, my granddaughter wouldnt eat them. Pie was the one thing that was good. My son suggested we try this place, and afterwards he wished we would have gone to Mexican restaurant. Hopefully it was a bad night for the cook, or whatever. I dont think I will go back. I was disappointed wirh the food. Hostess was very pleasant also

If you want a healthy, no-cal dinner, then this is not the place for you. If you want food that is actually seasoned, and made the way Grandma used to make, then you will enjoy your meal. They make their own salad croutons that (gasp) has butter that is absolutely delicious! Their chicken wings are awesome, and I love their salmon patties. Considering that theyre always busy, I guess Im not the only one. And dont forget the pies.

We have just recently remodeled the two main dinning rooms along with new roof and ac unit heating unit along with blacktopping the entrance road to the old red barn road .we are very proud of Mr.Burkey and the time and love he puts into restaurant he is trying to better the resturant and will continue to do so so please continue to show your support thanks from all of us at burkey family restaurant

I freakn love this place...my husband showed me the place the 1st time i ate there i was very satisfied... service was gr8 staff gr8...it was so gd i came bck 4days in 1 wk lol and even order a platter to go..i luv their pork chop meal and brkfast definitely the all u can eat brkfast on sunday...im 120 lbs & luv 2 eat and im telln u yall wont b disappointed gr8 food gr8 prices.

Weve been eating here for about five years, and lately, Im not sure if its the staff turnover or what, but the food is going downhill. Every other order that I get has been messed up, and the new wait staff could really use some more training. Sorry folks, probably not coming back.

The Burkey Family Restaurant has a few problems. The food is very heavy, and some of it is greasy. However, they have the best pie ever. they sell it to go, and they sell whole pies. they are great for family events.

The customer service is horrible!!!!! The French toast I order tasted just like eggs no cinnamon nothing. Then I ask to trade for pancakes and the manger said they would charge me!!! Seriously!!! Do Not Eat Here!!!?

They closed at 9p and we clearly walked in around 15 minutes til 9 and they were still so polite.. They service was Great, the rolls were home made n good. We had ribs and shrimp. "off the Chain" WILL BE GOING BACK

For a place that prides its chicken, it was pretty poor. Hardly any meat on the bones and stale sides. Service was unsatisfactory due to a staff shortage.
