Just finished dinner at El Potrillo. Arrived after 6:00 pm and the restaurant was 3/4th full and it was my husband and my first time eating there, so we were encouraged. There was drink special and I ordered the $2.00 Tecate which was cold and refreshing. We ordered the queso with chorizo dip and it was terrible. The cheese didnt taste like cheese but rather some over processed cream. It was burned and the chorizo was unremarkably bland. Next came our burritos...I order the burrito chipotle and my husband ordered a simple beef burrito with rice. He managed to eat his burrito but I took 3 bites of mine and had to stop. It had shrimp, chicken and steak in it, with avocado slices and tomatoes on top. I ate the avocado and left the rest. Our waitress asked if there was something wrong and instead of telling her the food was uneatable, we courteously told her that it was too much food. She was busy and not very attentive to us but when the bill came, it was slammed down on our table and after the credit card was processed the receipt was also slammed down on our table with no thank you, no have a nice evening or any words at all spoken to us. My husband who is very non-confrontational commented as we left that it was the rudest establishment he had ever been to and we both had a bad taste in our mouth from the burned queso. Please do not waste your time and money going to this place. There are far better Mexican restaurants and the only reason we tried it was because we were branching out to other restaurants in our neighborhood. We will never frequent this place again. Oh and after all was said it done it was a $50.00 bill (including tip). I would have rather had a fast food meal at a reasonable price that what we experienced.

WORST MEXICAN FOOD EVER!!! First of all i have to say i am from mexico so may be my expectations where too high walking in,but i have been to A LOT of mexican restaurants and I honestly have to say.....PEOPLE.,DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!! The food is the clossest that i can describe as CRAP!! I was so amazed to see that the place was packed. Service was awful.,hostess was nowhere to be found,waiter wasnt any different,margaritas have to be the worst margaritas i have had in my life and food that needed to be hot was cold,food that needed to be cold was room temperature, cheese dip was tasteless and chips where so bad that my ten year old son that literally could eat any chips any time at any hour of the day after eating a few said to me..daddy , there is somethings wrong with those chips as he was pushing the chip basket away... People.,please..if you are so desperate and hungry for mexican food DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! That is not mexican food...I dont know what it is but dont be fooled and tricked out of your hard earned money with this crap!!!

This was my first time going. A waitress served me knowing very little English. I asked what beers were available there and how much, she handt a clue how to answer me. I then asked about what certain food names were what and I barely got any info so I ended up ordering a vegetarian plate so I went ahead and ordered one I knew of. Once the beer and food was served I was ready to eat. I started eating and noticed 2 hairs in my plate! Both in different areas... and also 1 out of 3 burritos was a beef instead of all 3 being bean. Several complaints for this restaurant..dont get me wrong the food is great, just watch out. Once again this being my first time there and several things went wrong.

I really like this place. Its my go-to place for Mexican, as its super close to my house, my grocery store, and my gym. They have great drinks and a LOT of choices for food. Tons of meal options, and the a la carte is very customize-able, as well. Its also my go-to place for my girlfriends and I to get drinks after work or on the weekend, or birthdays. They do a special birthday thing if you tell them, and its absolutely fantastic and really fun. The staff is fantastic, and really friendly. Its a really relaxed environment, and you see a lot of regulars there, and you start to get to know the regulars there, as well. Awesome place!

I just cannot believe I did not know about this cute little place. First of all we were greeted enthustiascially at the front door, my daughter and I. We were seated and quickly approached about what we wanted to drink. I mentioned it was my first time there so the Owner overheard and came to chat about specials. Her name was Gabby, and so sweet. I got my favorite beer for $2 and then the chicken soup was out of this world. Guacamole was fresh and chips delicious with yummy salsa. Just a really nice place with good food with great service. I think I will go there tonight :)

I love this place! I have been here twice with my wife. Not a fancy location, but it is very clean, the staff has been great both times and the food was amazing! Guacamole is the best I have had in a while and the chicken thing they have is amazing! I had a shrimp plate and it was very good also. Really big portions and they have strong margaritas (too strong for my wife but I love it).

Service was slow....... Food was okay but it was not hot, it was lukewarm. Upon leaving, I asked my server for a to-go cup, he said okay then he proceeded to the cashier desk and started playing his game. (I walked up behind him and saw him playing the game on his phone) I asked for a cup again and he said "oh" and then proceeded to get the cup.....

Best kept Mexican secret in alpharetta! It looks like a diner and has the speed of one (steak fajitas in under 5 mins on a Saturday!) And tastes as authentic as Tex Mex can. Great drink specials, cheese dip is awesome and you have to try the California burrito with avocado. Our new favorite Mexican restaurant!

Fast, Friendly & Great Food!!! Friday night full house and we waited all of 2 minutes. We order and had our app within minutes and our food less than five. Our table was clean as soon as we indicated we were done and in no way felt rushed to leave. Will defiently be coming back!

Weve been eating here for fifteen years. Including after trips to Mexico. Will never go anywhere else. Its the best. Dont come here I want my regular table. If you havent figured out how good this place is. You dont deserve it.
