Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!!!! The food, wine, etc were all excellent, but what truly made the experience was the staff. I had hoped to have a party of 15-20 guests, so I called the restaurant a month or so in advance and was transferred to Mariah, the Event Manager, who coordinates their private rooms and such. It was a joy just to speak to her. I felt like I was going to the home of an old friend for dinner and bringing along a bunch of friends. As time went on and people confirmed or couldnt make it, backed out after saying yes, etc, I kept in touch with Mariah and she worked with me every step of the way along with expressing appreciation that I was keeping her apprised of changes. After all the changes I had a total of seven people. Mariah didnt miss a beat, saying we were still welcome to the room that had been reserved but could also choose to sit in the main dining room. Not wanting to deprive them of the space if needed, I chose the main dining room. So, on to dinner. The day of, two more confirmed dropped out, leaving us with five for dinner. I called again and all was well, Mariah said shed see us at 7:30. Sure as could be, she was waiting at the hostess station at 7:25 when we entered. Presumably because of the time and being five people, she spoke up right away and asked if I was Garry (we were long past formalities by this point). She escorted us to our table, telling me she had reserved us a spot with one of their best servers. With that, she introduced us to Sean. Doggone if she wasnt right about one of their best. In fact, if they have a better server, Id be shocked. Hed be nearly impossible to beat. I could rattle off all his great qualities, but just picture everything you think makes up a great waiter or waitress, multiply it by a thousand or so, and you have Sean. If I had to pick anything I think itd be his obvious ability to read a table and know how to interact. He was friendly and joking with us, while a nearby table had a bunch of stiffs, so he was (while still friendly) less casual. The bottom line here is that this young man, while possibly aspiring to other things, is that rare creature who could be said to have found their calling as a waiter. All too many think its a job any twit can do. Not this guy. Hes top of the line. I was in Columbus for two days, to go to a football game (GO BUCKEYES!). We went in on a Friday and they were pretty busy, but you never wouldve noticed from the staff. Everyone was on top of their game, indicating (to me at least, as well as to one of my dining companions who is a restaurant manager herself with 30 years in the food & beverage game) quality management. I RARELY go to the same restaurant two days in a row for dinner, especially in an area like Easton Town Center which is full of very nice restaurants. I had originally planned to dine elsewhere Saturday night after the game, but thanks to Mariah and Sean, I suggested Texas de Brazil to Saturdays dining crew as well. I called a little ahead and made a reservation, requesting one of Seans tables. When we arrived, there was my old pal Mariah waiting to greet us again. I had asked to speak to her when I called, but she was busy. Apparently someone told her I had asked for her when I made the reservation. They actually had to shuffle a couple things to get us one of Seans tables, as he was fully seated at the time, but they did so willingly. So, we put him in an overload of tables for a bit. You never would have known it. The second night, one other person also stood out. One of the carvers, a young man named Matt, was really on top of things along with being an all around friendly person (and genuine, not just going through motions). Hes a real asset to Texas de Brazil to go along with Mariah and Sean. I guarantee next time I find myself in Columbus, I WILL return in spite of the numerous nearby places to choose from.

Written by my Wife: Dear Texas De Brazil, I am sending this feedback as a unhappy guest. My husband and I was so excited to try Texas De Brazil as it just came available in our city Of Columbus, Ohio and so we decided we would dine there for my husband’s birthday which was Friday April,26. We made the reservations on line and indicated under special comments that it was my husband’s birthday for 5:30 and we get to the restaurant along with our daughter. We were seated and the server came out Jonathon said his part not very friendly nor outgoing. As we approached the salad bar there were two dogs at the salad bar also, one of them was sitting in the lap of another guest and the other one was walking around the salad bar, I also want to note these were not seeing dogs!!!! I was immediately turned off and it grossed me out so bad and the one dog was sniffing our feet. I had someone get the manger seeing that we did not see our server anywhere, it took at least 10 minutes for the manager to come over and when I told him how unsanitary it was to have dogs at the salad bar, he just said they had papers for the dogs to travel with them. Well that does not justify the fact it is still unsanitary and that those dogs could have stayed at the table they were sat at because it was a party of eight instead of bringing them to the salad bar. So all I could think was if there was dog hair flying around in the food. When you go out to eat especially at a $42.99 per person restaurant you want to be comfortable and enjoy your environment and especially celebrated something special. Well needless to say it was not comfortable nor enjoyable. I wanted to leave but my husband said stay because he was already drinking his cocktail and wanted to try the meat. The salad bar was not that great-the asparagus that were to be grilled were very cold and the lobster bisque was not great. However the potato salad and the shrimp was the only thing enjoyable off of the salad bar, I did not even go back up to the salad bar again due to the dogs going every time the other guest went. I had such high hopes and was excited to tell everyone seeing that none of our friends or co-workers had dined here yet, but this was a total let down. I think we would have been better off dinning at Mc Donald’s!!!!! On a scale of 1-10 I wanted to rate a 1 but seeing that the meat was actually good I would rate a 3. I hope this email helps with this situation about animals being in the restaurant right with the food—there are people with animal allergies and just the point it is just not clean!!!! I really don’t know if we will ever think about going to Texas De Brazil again.

Reservations HIGHLY recommended. Took my carnivore husband out for his birthday. Had reservations, and went to the bar to wait for our table. Excellent Bar service! Prompt with water with lemon and our wine selection. Table was ready in 5 minutes after we sat at the bar. Salad bar was impressive! Excellent selection of smoked salmon, prepared salads, hot items, cold items, meats, cheeses, unusual dressings and other culinary creations, and of course, rich lobster bisque! The salad bar reminded us of our all inclusive trips to Jamaica & Dominican Republic all inclusive fair. It was absolutely fabulous. We really got full on the salad bar alone! 1) When it was busy, the plates and bowls ran very low (5:30pm on a Saturday) because there was a rush at the salad bar in waves, but it moved smoothly. 2) Lobster bisque was on point. Totally creamed soup, but did have a LOT of salt in it. It was excellent, just overly salted. 3) Noise level was LOUD When we finally turned our little cards from red to green, it took a while for the servers to come. Slow at first, but the mashed potatoes were EXCELLENT, and side of plantains to "cleanse the palate" between meats were all great and I used those to patiently wait for the meat to come. When the meat started coming, it never stopped! Parmesan encrusted pork loin bites were good, but cool when we got them, bacon wrapped chicken bites were awesome, Parmesan encrusted chicken legs were also excellent, the lamb was very good if you liked lamb, and there were a lot of other meats. However, the BEST was the BEEF! The mini filet mignon were the absolute BEST, and anything BEEF was absolutely TO DIE FOR delicious! DESERT: The Happy Birthday Cheesecake we got was EXCELLENT and BETTER than the Cheesecake factory! It was a whopping 4 inches tall, chocolate bottom, most perfect cheesecake we ever had. We split it it was so big! The dessert tray circulating around was astounding at the gourmet crafted deserts they offered.
