I really like the waiters and bar crew here. You can get a dos equis for $3, which is a good price for beer, especially in Short North, albeit its in a bottle. I wouldnt really recommend a meal though. Food is ok. Queso and guacamole with chips are really good, but the tacos are over-priced and decent, not great. Ive had the chicken mole, beef, and pork tacos. The pork ones were the best. You need a taco truck run by Mexicans, if you actually want good tacos. But for Short North its pretty good. They also have a really great cilantro sauce in a ketchup-like bottle that is automatically on the table along with salsa and delicious. Their tortas are "meh", but at least very sizable. If you wanted to, you could probably make it a second meal. But it definitely isnt what I would call Mexican - more like a vague resemblence to Mexican food. One thing I do firmly think is that they should offer free unlimited nacho chips to people eating there. Seemed kinda crazy that they didnt and that you couldnt get a refill with your appetizer (or maybe you can and we just werent asked... which isnt better.) They also werent that great about refilling water. But on the whole, the atmospere was nice (on a Tuesday night), and the patio is very pleasant. Made for an enjoyable experience that I would be willing to repeat. On the weekend, its a different beast though. Its like any other Short North bar then; bursting at the seams. If I could, I would give it 3 1/2 stars.

Got a Lyft and ended up here for a few drinks and some tacos. Nailed it! a few drinks and tacos it was. We arrived around 8 on a Monday night, place was full and a side table by the window just opened up. The table for two, a little slanted, was held against the wall to prevent it from wobbling. That shouldnt be a problem for us. At first, it just felt weird, youre equilibrium off caliber, but after a few drinks, that all didnt matter. The Guac was good, the texture I liked, a little chunky. Sharing 5 tacos, which was almost the right amount for us this night. Next visit well do at least six or seven. We both agreed our favorite taco out of the five was the Cochinita Pibil, but honestly; they were all good... very fresh ingredients. The Spicy margarita was a delight, a good kick on every sip. The Sangria Rojo is great, but is stronger than we thought at first, that one crept up later... fair warning for some of you. The place is cozy and trendy, great service and the fastest drinks Ive ever seen come out of the bar.

Since Bakersfield has been open it is always packed. I was finally able to walk in and try some of their famous tacos. My date and I sat at one of the communal tables and tried to new beers they had on draft. Both were excellent. As for the tacos they couldnt be improved upon. We sampled 4 tacos; mole, fish, pastor and cochinita pibil. All were absolutely delicious. The flavors mixed well with one another and provided such a change to others places in the area. The only downside to this place so far is they arent open for lunch. The interior is a little loud when its busy, but the decorating was warm and inviting. Old barrels were used as tables, some tables had saddles for seating. There are patio tables and propane heating lamps outside but for my visit it was just a little too chilly out.

I order joselitos Togo pretty often. Its really good comfort mexican food. I dined in with my boyfriend on a Friday night and it was packed. The waiter was nice but I think too busy. He basically just took our order and dropped our food off, which is fine. We ordered a strawberry margarita and regular marg, both blended. I wouldnt suggest getting them blended. We seriously thought there was no alcohol in the strawberry margarita.. Neither very good. I usually get enchiladas. The beef enchiladas are so good, rice and beans too. Definitely a good spot, but I would order Togo unless you can get an outside table.

With a group of about 12 people, our waiter suggested we try Selecciones De La Casa. For $15 per person we got all the appetizers, some salads and something like 50 assorted tacos. It was a TON of food which we couldnt finish but it was fantastic getting to try a bunch of the tacos. They were all fantastic, but my favorite was the short rib. The service was insanely fast and since we had some vegetarians in our group, they even brought them their own salad and plate of tacos. Be prepared that its remarkably loud, but a fun atmosphere. Between the food, service, and drinks, I love this place!

At a much better location than its Cincinnati counterpart sits this FANTASTIC taco place. While they may have a small menu, their food sure packs a flavor punch! My recommendation is that you start off with a nice margarita and some chips & guac, followed by 2-3 of their tacos. The tacos are a little on the small side, but delicious, and 2-3 is the perfect amount for a full dinner/lunch. However many you get, definitely get a variety of the tacos, as each one is different, and ALL of them are delicious! Service is fast and friendly, and the restaurants atmosphere provides for a great time!

Best tacos in town, hands down. I love the cool atmosphere at Bakersfield and the cool people who work there, but for me its all about the food. Chips and salsa are $3 (this is my only complaint) but I get them anyway. The two salsas they serve with the chips are always fresh and tasty, but the tacos are why I come back. Tried one with pork and pineapples on my last visit at the suggestion of my server and was blown away by the flavor. Ive tried more than half of the 8 or 10 varieties they offer and have loved them all. This is Mexican food with a little extra something!

This has probably been the best service I have ever received at a restaurant before. They were so nice and thoughtful and made my dining experience so much better. I had a very complicated order and the lady came back and made sure she had it right. The waitress gave many compliments and was so kind, she also kept checking on if we needed anything but not too excessive. It was my friends birthday and since she wasnt old enough to drink they went and got her Jennys ice cream. Hands down the best service and greatest restaurant experience Ive ever had.
