This will be lengthy... My fiance and I scheduled our wedding rehearsal dinner for this location for the fourth week in April. We made this reservation back in January of this year. We met with the manager, signed off on the date, and it was agreed upon that we would have the backroom of the restaurant reserved for our guests and ourselves. They then told us to come in 2-4 weeks before our scheduled date to make and confirm the food order. Fast forward from January to April... My fiance went to the restaurant 2 1/2 weeks before our scheduled date to confirm the order as advised by the staff. The assistant manager on duty told my fiance a few things 1) we would need to spend a lot more money 2) the catering menu they GAVE US when we met to schedule the room initially (back in January) was only for outside catering, not for inside, and 3) regardless of how much money we spent, they would not be able to let us reserve the backroom of the restaurant. The following day I scheduled a meeting with the restaurant manager David to see if we could agree on a solution that benefited both the restaurant and ourselves. My fiance and I agreed that we could increase the total amount of money that we would spend to satisfy his needs as long as he held up his end of our initial agreement that we reserve the backroom of the restaurant for a total of 60 minutes. During this meeting the manager kept stating "I am losing so much money.", "I am sorry my staff agreed to this date. Fridays and Saturdays are our busiest days and we should not have allowed this to be scheduled." I cant say that we came to a conclusion to this discussion as when we were finishing up on the new terms of our order, the manager stood up from table, picked up a broom, and began sweeping. Despite visiting El Vaqueros around Columbus on a somewhat regular basis and enjoying myself I will never give this business group my money again. To management: I would advise training your staff to properly communicate information to patrons. Had we known from the beginning the catering menu we were given could not be used and that we would not be able to reserve the backroom, we would have never scheduled this.

Say what you want, Mexican food in the states is actually closer to Tex/Mex than true Mexican. After being in Mexico, this is as close to Mexican food as I have had in Ohio. The staff is great, saying "hi" to our 1 year old every time we are there. Yes, it is busy at times but I have never had a bad meal. The prices are reasonable and to eat out in a place thats not crappy pizza (most "Huts" if not all) or standard burgers, chicken poor seafood or other grilled food for about $20-$23 for the three of us is excellent. Add a beer for a few dollars more and it fits the bill. This location is not a hole in the wall that some of the older locations are. It is new, nice and roomy. They always have the Buckeye game on if it is being played. If there have been any issues, our bill was always happily adjusted and many times dessert has appeared for nothing. The employees are always trying to make your dining experience pleasant. And yes, they try hard. Thats more than the expensive places do with the "just a moment, I have a text on my phone" wait staff now days. Ill continue to go back.

A completely generic Mexican restaurant - you essentially have to order by numbers on the menus, theres plenty of bland salsa to go with chips on the table, and the entrees are generally about as flavorful as the rice and beans - all of it seems made to be washed down with a margarita, rather than enjoyed for what it is. The Burrito San Diego Ive had a couple times here is serviceable, but most other local options would offer something better.

This was an overall fun family experience. We went about 5:30pm on a Saturday. We arrived before the crowd (it got very busy). This was a loud, family environment. Most families there had young children. There was even a guy going table to table making balloon animals. The was good, not great, and the margaritas were the same. We will be back because its close to home, and a fun place to go on a Saturday night with kids.

Great food, fast service, reasonable prices. I have no idea why so many people reviewing this restaurant have a problem with it. We even drive away from a closer El Vaquero on Sawmill to go to the one on Dublin Road because the service is so good. If you have never been there and are checking out the reviews first, just drive past the parking lot around dinnertime one night. That is all you need to know.

Service was exceptionally fast, waitress was friendly, margaritas and food were fantastic. My Fiance and I had the #21- El Manjar Vaquero. This consisted of an enchilada, grilled chicken, and flank steak with rice and black beans on the side, accompanied by flour tortillas to make tacos. The only critique I have is that the black beans were really watery. Overall, a great experience! We will be back.

Bit pricier than most Mexican places Ive been. They didnt have half the drinks on the menu, I assume because it was a Monday and they were out. The food tasted okay, but the friends that went with me both had chicken and were sick that night. The place looked nice inside, but I wouldnt go back, even in the off chance I go to Columbus again anytime soon.

Texas margarita is where its at! Get the pitcher. Food is eh...good enough. Why 5-stars? Because its a warm, fun environment. The waiters and waitresses know you. They smile and say hi. It feels like a place you can be comfortable and relax, for me that matters. Plus my mom loves it and that clearly matters as well.

Ordered carry-out. Told 15-20 minutes. Took 45. Just tell me this when I order. Order was not correct when opened it after I got home (wife ordered, I picked-up). Observation: Their system of having one cashier for the entire restaurant creates a bottle neck and longer than necessary wait times.

I almost always get the regular Chimichanga with shredded chicken. Love the creamy jalapeno pepper sauce. Yea, Im giving it 5 starts to help boost up the ratings. Theres no way this is a 1 star restaurant. I think there are some Mexican food snobs out there.

Authentic Mexican food restaurant! Very friendly staff, and, if theres a wait, its well worth it! David, the owner, is a very hard worker, and, is very personable! We live out of town, and, visit, every week! We LOVE this place! 5 stars!☆☆☆☆☆
