This used to be my favorite place. The food is good. In the past, my only complaint was their closet sized bathrooms that need updating past description. My relationship ended with them over a matter of principle. I ordered a Coke that I could not taste due to a medication I was on. I told the waitress I was sure the Coke was fine and it was the medication affecting my taste, but I would need to cancel the order. I had literally one sip when I had her take it back. When I checked out I saw it on my bill. I explained, again, why I canceled and they refused to remove it from my bill because the Coke was fine and it was my "taste" that was off. I was stunned. Soda is .01 an ounce, and the manager preferred .20 to my loyal business. I was in there roughly once a week. I was so taken aback I decided never to return. I know its small, but its a principle issue. This type of poor customer appreciation and understanding speaks very loudly. They got their .20 and lost faithful business. Poor trade on their end.

Decent little restaurant. Not the best Ive had, but definitely not the worst either. Definitely better than Taco Bell (though TB is awesome for fast food and late night meals) but many better offerings in Mexicantown. If youre looking for Mexican food on the east side, though, this place or Guelaguetza are both good (the latter probably the better). Portions here are a little small. Service is decent. Good menu. To those who dont like the way they make certain dishes, theres many different ways to make the same dish so, while they might make, for example, their salsa in a way you dont like it, it doesnt mean its the wrong way (though, granted, I have been to places which make it the wrong way). However, if they say shredded beef and give you ground beef, then, yeah, thats an issue. Their food is a little on the blander side, but I tend to think that Mexican should be a little bland. Ive always thought authentic Mexican rice was bland but I just stir in some salsa and its perfect.

My family loves to go here due to its close proximity to our home. We usually order enchiladas, soft tacos and fajitas. The food so far has always been very tasty but sometimes the staff seems to value their breaks more than serving the customers. I understand its a small space, but we found it rude watching an employee taking up a four top for their break while weve been waiting for ten minutes already when theres a small two-person table available. So we enjoy our food but hope experiences improve.

I must have went on a bad day, because everyone is saying that the food is great and Im just not agreeing with that. The rice had zero flavor. The beans tasted old and overcooked. The taco meat was extremely greasy and had a funky wang to it. 2 strands of cheese on each taco. I ordered it to go, so I wasnt going to drive all the way back to complain. We ended up throwing both of our dinners in the trash and eating White Castle, LOL. Next time Ill stick to my tried and true love..... El Charros.

Ive been going here regularly for years and have never had a bad experience or problem with my order. The staff are so friendly and become familiar faces since they dont seem to have a high turnover, the food is great and fast. I suggest this place to people all the time. My favorites are the cheese and onion enchiladas, the veggie quesadilla, shrimp fajitas, and the fiesta chicken. The churros are amazing as well.

My mother & grandmother ate there last night, both complained to me, said it was the worst food ever: very bland, tasteless. They said the Botana sucked. My mother said the salsa tasted boring, with no heat, & was like tomato soup, & she saw a lady at the next table shaking Red Hot into her salsa to add some zing. They said definitely go to El Charros! = El Charros <3 my fav!

I am a Mexican and Latin American food lover. If someone ever wants to try a new place Im always in. This has been my go to Mexican restaurant for the past 7 years! I would drive from Troy Michigan for a carry out! I recommended the enchiladas and the steak California burrito! However everything I have had is amazing! 10 out of 10 for the family owned family ran place!!

First time eating here. Was packed and smiling faces as they ate their food. Upon seeing this I knew I was in for a treat. I ordered the #1 combo on back page of menu which is a burrito and taco served with retried beans and rice. Very flavorful and food a plenty. Also when you first sit you are served chips and salsa. Guarantee you wont leave hungry.

Average food, no where as good as guelaguetza on ten mile. but guelaguetza was cookin their books and got wacked by the tax man. now we have no real authentic mexican around the east side. the food portions are small quality is so so place smells musty and is old. some waitstaff are nice some as dumb as a bag of hammers. guess its back to Juans.

Very Authentic and consistent. We eat here often and always try different things. No real disappointments, the chicken just works better in a California Burrito than steak does, in my opinion. Always have good and friendly service. Portions are usually enough for 2 meals or at least a snack later.

The food is always AMAZING! Great wait staff and atmosphere too. My family and I always order the same thing every time we go there- The boys get the Chicken Quesadillas, my wife gets the Chicken Fajitas, and I get the "Large" Chicken Nachos, then its Fried Ice Cream with Honey for dessert.

Worst food Ive ever had, all over cooked an stale. Customer service was horrible as well. They also didnt know what queso cheese was.. Never again. UPDATE: Gabe we are hating because the food was over cooked, horribly prepared, with small portions, high price, not even close to authentic.

Best Mexican food in Eastpointe! Smaller restaurant seating probably like 15 tables but it has great atmosphere. The prices are good and the foods amazing. Fried tacos are perfection and only Mexican place where the beans n rice are actually good.

Best family owned Mexican restaurant Ive been to. I wont waste my time going anywhere else. They have a large menu and great desserts. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. The food is always fresh and fast, and huge portions.

I like it but my girlfriend hated it because of the slow service and the burnt cheese sticks. Oh and by the way the bathrooms are very small so if your over 250 lbs I hope you can hold your poop in because your not fitting in em
