Luxe is not only our favorite restaurant in Cleveland, it is also where my husband proposed, and who catered our wedding. I hesitate to use the word “caterer” because they did so much more than just make the food. We met with Melissa, the owner of Luxe, to discuss the possibility of having them cater our wedding. We weren’t sure if they did weddings/large events, but the restaurant holds such a special place in our hearts that we had to at least ask. We were met with an endless amount of enthusiasm and excitement from Melissa. We told her we wanted the menu to reflect our travels to Spain, Italy, and Greece, and you could immediately see the gears start turning in her head. She took our idea and RAN with it. She built a completely customized menu based on our favorite dishes from our travels and from her restaurant. She came to multiple meetings with our venue, offered her expertise on wedding planning and working with other vendors, and even offered to help with day-of wedding coordination if we needed the extra help! Talk about going above and beyond! We did our food tasting at the restaurant and she told us to invite our families to enjoy the meal as well. They served each of us full portions of each appetizer and dinner dish. We wanted to do a wine pairing for our guests on the big day, so with each dish at the tasting, they provided us with several different suggested wine pairings, along with a print out of information about each wine. At no surprise to us, the food, service, and execution on the big day was top notch. Throughout the night, and even now, 6 weeks after the wedding, our guests kept telling us it was the best wedding meal they have ever had (and I agree)! Melissa, her manager Jeffrey, and her whole entire team truly made our wedding a special event for everyone in attendance.

This is not the first time I have visited this restaurant. We have come a few times before and the service was terrible every time but I thought I would give it one more chance. The food was decent the other times but the time it took to actually get served is totally unacceptable. We were seated about 20 minutes after getting there. (we called and had a reservation but dont bother, they never have a table for you to sit down and they said they didnt have the reservation... likely excuse.) Then the server was the rudest jerkoff I have ever experienced! It took like another 20 minutes to get someone to come to our table to get our drink order! Then another 15 min for him to come back and tell us that what we ordered wasnt available! Then he completely forgot one of the meals for someone in our party. He gave us the meal for free and that was supposed to make up for it. I was so upset that I left a small tip because I felt that the service was so bad! I wanted to go and let the manager have it but I just thought this would get the picture across to the waiter! So Im waiting outside in my car and the waiter comes outside the restaurant and gives the tip back to the other people in my party and said that it was unacceptable and that he didnt want it!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THE GALL THIS GUY HAS?? NEEDLESS to say I WILL NEVER be going back to LUXE and I will tell everyone I know how horrible the service is there. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

Ordered two gourmet salads for$12 each with two draft beers at $5.00 each. The beers were ice cold, but with no head. Not a big deal. The waitress took 20 minutes to take our order. We placed the order at about 8:20 after arriving at 7:50.Again,no big deal. At 8:50 still no salads, but she did bring bread. The waitress said they lost the order, but would get it right in. The couple next to us were already finished eating, despite being seated a few minutes after us. At 9:00 she said it could take another 15 minutes. We told her to please hurry because we were going to a movie at 9:40 across the street at the Capitol Theatre. We needed to leave at 9:30. The diners next to us had paid the bill and were drinking coffee by this time. We left at 9:15,despite never receiving a bill.I looked for our waitress, but couldnt find her so we never paid for the two beers. The mgr.never showed despite asking several times. The fancy salads sounded delicious, but will never get a chance to eat them because we will never return.I have eaten in restaurants my whole life, but have never been treated so poorly. This was on a Saturday night,so I guess they were a little busy.Still.An hour and twenty five minutes?07/9/16.

I was in town from D.C. for a concert and due to our late arrival we were looking for a place to eat. Conveniently, Luxe was open and serving food until midnight, which worked perfectly for our situation. We had good expectations from viewing the menu and photos online, but what we didnt except is that Luxe and our bartender, Joe, would surpass any expectation we could have had. The food was excellent and well executed; the cocktails and wines are great as well. But on the note of service, Joe was without a doubt the nicest bartender I have ever come across. Other than just accommodating our every need with pleasure, he was conversational and a friend during the entire experience. He even let us take shelter from the cold after closing while we waited for an uber since we had to returned to retrieve a forgotten item later that night. Needless to say I hope to find out the world is full of more people like Joe.

Wow...horrible....First off the patio the best in Cleveland??? Bunch of dying pine trees in a container....Second.....get there and a big discussion of wether or not they had a table, this is @ 6pm...Next took forever to get served a beverage....they didnt give us bread that other tables got. Looked at the menu...wasnt to impressed pizza and pasta. Then we ordered a pizza....took quite a while...then 15min later we were told we got the wrong pizza....so we decided to eat what we ordered not realizing the pizza we oreded sat around the whole time....so we complained and said it would be comped....ok fine....a couple the sits down on the table next to us....WOW.....the waiter never mentions the specials to us....steak, seafood etc.....what a joke.....apparently its under new management and staff....so beware....waiters are sloppy....never again.

When I compare my experience at Luxe with any dinner Ive had at a comparably priced, local restaurant (Lolita, Momocho, Bar Cento, etc.), Im stunned by how poorly executed my dishes were. The duck in the duck sandwich was unrecognized. I asked my dinner guest what the gray lumps might be. They clearly had been cooked much earlier in the day (the day before?), a fact that the chef had hoped to cover over by loading the dishes with superfluous condiments (why was there sweet potato on my sandwich if it came with sweet potato fries?). When the sous-chef walked in the restaurant with his hands full of store-bought hamburger buns, I knew it was a very bad, bad sign. Luxe seems neither invested in the fresh ingredients or original cooking. Save your money and go to one of Clevelands many other fine, moderately priced restaurants.
