The food is excellent. The service, when youre dining in is good. Do not ever get food to go. Even if the place is empty. A few months ago I stopped in at the bar on a fairly busy friday night and ordered two chicken sandwiches and a side of fries to go. Im a server/bartender at a differnet local establishment so Im pretty understanding of kitchen times, things taking a little bit longer than normal, and know that when youre busy things can happen. They said itd be about 25 minutes, I waited an hour and a half. After half an hour the bartender ran back to the kitchen, came back out, told me it was being boxed right at that moment and would be out in just a minute. This happened at least 3 more times. I noticed that other people who had ordered to gos after me were getting their orders before me, meaning that somewhere along the line my ticket was misplaced. Finally after an hour and a half I got my order. The bartender was clearly uncomfortable that Id waited so long, I was annoyed but it wasnt his fault so I said not to worry about it and headed out. As I was walking out the manager ran over and gave me a gift card to come back. I live a block away and immediately went home and ate; the chicken was dry and cold, the fries were stale, it had clearly been sitting for a very long time before I got it. Last night I went back to use the gift card. It was a Tuesday afternoon, a little after 4pm. When I arrived there were 2 people at the bar, a four top, and a two top. Thats it. I sat at the bar, ordered two chicken sandwiches and two sides of fries to go. I waited for 45 minutes. The bartender ignored me, stayed at the other side of the bar, and after half an hour he came over and said they were boxing it as we spoke and that it would be right out. Another 10 minutes pass and the shift change started and the new bartender came over asked if I wanted a drink or needed a menu and I said Id put in a to go order 40 minutes prior. He immediately went back to the kitchen and when he came out said they were boxing it and it was on its way out the kitchen. I mentioned thats what the other bartender had said 10 minutes ago. He said he just got there and the first thing that they told him was that to gos were all messed up and then he shrugged and walked away. At this point a table who sat about 5 minutes after I walked in had already finished eating and left, and another bar guest who sat about 20 minutes after I ordered had gotten her food and was half way through eating it. When I eventually got my order I watched the kitchen manager hand the bag to a young food runner to bring it to the bar, and the bartenders had him give it to me. There was no apology, no gift card like the last time, no discount on the order. Nothing. Not even a "have a good day" If I were rating a dining in experience I would have left a 5 star review as its always great when Im dining in. However, service and cooking times should not tank just because Im ordering carry out and because of this I doubt that Ill be back.

Wow. Is this place popular! Ive been meaning to try it for awhile now. But you either have to plan ahead and be there right when they open, or you have an hour wait. I knew this Cincinnati trip would be busy and short. So I planned on arriving early. I met up with some family at 11a on a Saturday (on a busy summer Saturdays that was surrounded by a race and a flea market). At three minutes til, there was already a line of about seven people. But everyone was seated quickly. They put the three of us at a large table for six. We were joined by another party shortly after and the whole restaurant really filled up. I loved that the table was spacious enough that we didnt feel like we were dining with another group. We each order a sandwich and sides to share. I went with the Chicken Sandwich. Since I asked for no bread, they served it in a bowl and really pilled it high with coleslaw! I have to say that I prefer my coleslaw on the sweeter side, but I loved everything else! The chicken was flavorful and had that crispy exterior you want. And it paired so nicely with the pickles and spicy sauce! For our sides we chose Mac n Cheese and Spoon Bread. I personally was so-so on the former. It had a smokey flavor, which was fine. But I wished that it had a sharper cheese to really give it a punch. The Spoon Bread, however, totally did it for me. I loved the corn kernels and all the flavor from the maple butter! I cant wait to visit this place again soon!

Okay Im giving this place a one star for a couple of reasons. We get to the Eagle for lunch on a Thursday. Were told at the counter it would be 20-25 "if that minutes" for an open table. A couple sitting outside checks out and leaves. A party if two walk up and ask a waitress, not the hostess if it was okay to sit there. She tells them yes. They get seated without a wait. 35 mins go by and my phones goes off. Our table is ready. They hostess tells the manager "just seat them anywhere"....so she seats us with a party already mid-meal.... Okay so why did I just waste 35 mins waiting for a standalone table. I told the manager that was going to work, and he said" if you want to here this is going to have to work" but I didnt want family style seating. So I tell the manager "Im a Google Local Guide and I will be giving this place an unfavorable report" The hostess over hears me and offers us a standalone table.... Okay so why didnt I get that to start with.... So I walk outside and the manager ask he can give me a standalone table and comp my meal. I told him I just wanted money for parking and he told me he couldnt do that. Which makes no sense.... You can comp a meal for two but not six bucks for parking..... I cannot remember comment on the food since I never ate it. But their attitude is pretty piss poor. And thus the one star....

Really wasnt that impressed. The chicken was good, but Ive had and made better. The pieces were small, the skin wasnt very crunchy, but did have a good flavor. The spicy honey was good and unique. The sides were less than good. The cold mac and cheese with 1/2 inch of panko on top, super garlicky. You would think that since its served in an iron skillet it would be at least warm, but it was rather cold. The skillet was hot though! The spoon bread wasnt. It was corn bread. While it was very good corn bread, it was a tad on the dry side and definitely needed butter! The Saturday visit was a 2 hour wait, so we came back on Thursday night, and didnt have a wait. We sat down, after SQUEEZING through to sit at the back side of a large table with 3 guests at the other side. It was extremely loud, so much that I and the wife decided that it was not worth even trying to talk, so we sat and watched each other. It is really just a bar that serves chicken to people after you have had quiet a few beers. The staff was friendly and you could not ask for anything better. Please note that I do not drink, so I cannot comment on the vast beer and alcohol selection.
