I dont know what some of these reviewers are talking about. This is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant in all of Cincinnati. No, it is not Don Pablos...but then again Don Pablos is not real Mexican food. El Toro is real....quite frankly, El Toro is better than many restaurants Ive been to in Mexico. (Ive traveled there over at least once a year over the last 5 years...so trust me, I know.) The atmosphere was nice, nothing fancy, but who cares? I was there for good food and was completely blown away by how great it was. I have never tasted fresher ingredients and they have by far the best salsa offered by any restaurant. The chicken was so moist, the re-fried beans amazing...theres no way they come from a can. To top it all off, their staff was excellent and gave great service and prompt attention. We were only a quarter of the way through our dinners and we were already planning our next visit back and who wed bring. Give it a try.....you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I are both very picky when it comes to Mexican food, since we are both Hispanic. First of all, I want to say that just because something is Mexican DOES NOT mean that it is full of exotic spices or even hot! I think some of the people who reviewed this place and said that the food was not "flavorful" have been eating at the wrong places all along. The big "Tex-Mex" chains have led people astray in that area. Mexican food is a pleasant combination of flavor and the spices are there to enhance not overtake the dish. With that said, we like this restaurant, and like going to a place that is close to what Mexican food is supposed to be! Is it perfect? No, Is it worth you trying it out? Yeah! The service here is great, they work as a team, and make sure you have everything you need. Every experience we have had there has been great!

Horrible experience. I am new to the town. I cant eat pork. I asked the server for a chicken everything and I received a pork tamale with chicken on top. I had a few bites and when I realized how dark the meat was I informed the server. He could not take it off of my order, the management was on a 3 hour break. I called the restaurant at the time the management was supposed to be back and he couldnt do anything and said tamales at every Mexican restaurant in Cincinnati has pre made pork tamales. (How would I know.? The menu does not say) the food was horrible in all. I was very unsatisfied and will not be going back.

One of my co-workers was going to this place for take out and I asked her to pick me up a taco salad. 1st the portion size is small. 2nd the beef and bean paste in the bottom of the shell had a taste and consistency of watered down potted meat. 3rd the meal had so much water in it that the shell was soggy. 4th the small amount of veggies seemed water logged. Needless to say, the meal when in the trash. If possible I would rate this below a one star!

Food poisoning aside, after getting our drinks the waiter retired to the bar for half an hour. Finally he comes back and a few minutes later we get our food ....I guess. The previously inattentive waiter rushes us through the meal since its near closing. I speak to the management who says "oh...okay" and say Ill never return. As a bonus we both got sick on the way home. AVOID!!!

The food was terrible. When I said something to the staff he said "okay" then brought me the bill. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Food was gross and the service was just as bad. It was so bad that I had to drive through McDonalds afterwards because I was hungry. That should say something about how terrible it was.

This is our go-to restaurant. We go nearly every Friday because we can count on their fast and friendly service. They are very family-friendly and are always so kind to our kids. They even know them by name! Food is good value and their text coupons make it even more so. Highly recommend.

The menu price on the website does not match the advertised price on the El Toro website. The smug manager either did not recognize this, or refused to so he could skim a little more out of my pocket. I should have walked out, as the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Great fun and fantastic service. The meals are always cooked right and are delicious. For a strip-mall Mexican place they are way better than most. Watch out if you order desert, though, sometimes the 3 leches cake is still frozen.

The food used to be much better quality, but the cheese sauce is still great. The one thing that makes me upset is that their website menu/order form has much cheaper prices than what they really are. Frugal web buyers beware.

Excellent family-owned restaurant. The food is amazing and so are the margaritas. I love the chips and salsa and the wait staff is always so kind and considerate. This is one of my favorite spots to go to kick off the weekend.

Some of the worst food of any sort I have ever eaten. It was only one time, but some places just dont deserve a second chance. There are so many good taquerias around, there is no reason to subject yourself to El Toro.

Good food, good price for the amount of food, nice set up, and very friendly wait staff. Kinda wish they would sell their lunch specials on Sunday, but thats the only negative I found on this visit.

We came here for lunch on Sunday. The food was good. Prices are good too. Our table had nachos, veggie fajitas, veggie platter, burrito Guadalajara, and shrimp tacos. It was all good.

Tex-Mex food at best. Salsa was watered down, chips were cold, my "crab meat combo" was imitation KRAB. Service was slow...dont come here. Go to Redbank and eat at El Jinette!!

Great service, prices, food and drinks. When our food was served he asked who ordered the hamburger. Lol. Great sense of humor. We will definitely be back!

Good prices, good food. The service is so friendly you need an insulin shot on the way out the door. There is never a wait. Good solid Mexican restaurant.

This is the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten in my entire life. Hands-down. Lifeless, cardboard tortillas, over-processed sauces...Its foul.

The service was bad. I felt I was sitting in a large banquet hall. The restaurant is to big. Food was bland. I would not recommend it. F

We go at least once a week. Our kids love the staff and so do we. By far the best service and food from any Mexican restaurant.
