UPDATE JUNE 2017 I became tired of trying to give this restaurant a chance and being disappointed by lukewarm, unappetizing food and poor service and I went to "Tandoori Bites", in town. Excellent food there! Im sorry this restaurant didnt live up to its great beginnings. UPDATE Dec 2016 - The menu has been modified to ccount for lack of foot traffic from major construction in front of the restaurant. The meal was still subpar compared to when it first opened and more expensive. UPDATE October 2016 - We love Indian Cuisine, so we come here at least once during lunch when we are in town. However, the last few times weve dined, Ive noticed a distinct difference. The food is not hot upon arrival and the recipes taste a bit...different. The Palaak Paneer was somewhat glutinous, with too much of I-dont-know-what dairy product while the Tikka was more soupy than saucy. The aloo side dish was room temperature at best and the fried Pakora was greasy and also room temp. Also, Ive not seen the great waitress Susan since coming here last year when they opened, only half-hearted waitresses. We usually arrive at the end of the lunch rush and I am sadly concerned that this restaurant is not living up to its great beginning. ORIGINAL REVIEW OF OPENING MONTH- Price VS quality ratio gives this great restaurant five stars! Lovely decor and ambience, Susan was a very professional waitress the likes of which I have see only in the finest restaurants and the food was great! Also, the bathrooms were clean and nicely decorated. We came for the lunch special and it was so much food that we couldnt finish!

If I could give 0, I would. I have no idea why this place has a 4.8 and I never write reviews but felt I needed to voice our experience to save others their money (and stomachs). As a Wilmington native our fave place for Indian is Tandoori Bites, but this place seemed to have decent reviews so we tried it for date night. The service was deplorable! We did not get a drink menu, until we asked. We asked about beer specials and the waiter just brought us a random opened beer. For food we did the four course special, with garlic naan. Two of the courses were not what we ordered, and they never put our naan in until we asked about it when our main dishes came out. We sat for twenty minutes with no interaction from the server and Im pretty sure the table behind us was just as upset when they asked for the manager when their server finally brought their appetizer out once they had finished their meal and were paying. The food was nothing worth the prices being charged. I had a vegetarian eggplant dish that was drenched in what tasted like heavy whipping cream. And the sesame salad was literally chunks of cheese and uncooked peppers and onions with sesame seeds. Overall, real big disappointment and not worth it. At the end of all this we had another server bring our check b/c ours was no where to be found. Honestly we probably should have walked out half way through but we were optimistic and the place was ironically busy towards the end. Im thinking its tourists who are drinking too much and giving this place a false positive. Cant say I didnt warn you!

In short: good food can never make up for terrible customer service. The long story: I had a coupon for $10 off a $20 or more purchase excluding alcohol (the only exclusion listed). After my food is already bagged and ready to go, the waitress calls the manager (who isnt present in the building) to get a password to take off the $10. He argues that it is a coupon for dine-in only even though it says it nowhere on the coupon. I tell the waitress that I will dine-in to which says he will honor the deal as a take out and hangs up without giving her the password. She then tells me she will have to wait for him to call her back. 20 minutes later, he calls back and tells her to take the $10 off the total, including tax. She hands me a total which has been taxed twice and proceeds to tell me this is how it is done. She could not understand that taking the discount off the taxed total and then taxing it again was incorrect. At my insistence, she calls the manager back, and he walks her through how to properly apply the discount. After a grand total of 40 minutes, I finally receive a correct bill for my food. Needless to say, my food (which was pretty good) was lukewarm at this point. This was my fourth time eating here, and I will not be going back.

This place deserves as much foot traffic as it can get. To begin, the restaurants esthetic is beautiful: rich, dark wood with some pop of beautiful jewel-toned decor gets you in the mood for the pleasant meal to follow. Let your eyes take a tour of the various pieces while you wait for your food to come (which doesnt take very long at all). The service is always extremely polite and doting, and if youre having trouble deciding what dish to indulge in, theyre more than happy to recommend something great. The food here is fantastic, and my fiancee and I are constantly wondering why it isnt packed all the time, especially considering its prime downtown location. Granted, we tend to venture here during lunch hours, so this might be a different story in the evening. Added bonus: They DELIVER!!! What more could you want?

Our servers name was Naresh. Himself being Indian, he was kind enough to walk me through the menu when I was seeking the most traditional Indian dishes that they had a available. I dont recall the dishes that I had, but more so I recall how pleasent my experience was here. Naresh is a big part of this, as he was very generous in engaging in conversation on many topics. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. The spinach appetizer is to die for, as well their condiments which were server with their spiced seaseme chaptai (tortilla) I highly suggest trying as many as you can. A side note, I generally do not seek condiments with any food I eat, these are the only exception. Thank you Naresh for an amazing Dinning experience, Ill be sure to return as often as I can. The meal appealed to all of my senses. Sight: It was very well presented. Smell: It smelled oh so good. Taste: It was full of the flavors that Indian cuisine is so well known for. Touch: The soup was velvety, the salad crunched with freshness, the appetizer was crispy and delicious. It was surprising inexpensive. The luncheon special was ONLY $10 and it was a treat to eat. I asked Naresh to bring us whatever he recommend for the entrees and we got the chicken masala and a vegetarian dish. Both were excellent. I cannot remember eating Indian food that I liked more. Would I recommend Kebob of Wilmingon? You betcha I would.

The ambience was extraordinary! service was below normal as one person taking care of every customer. Food was horrible! We ordered chicken tikka , chicken hariyali kabab , lamb briyani , chicken briyani , roti, some veg entrees . Roti was like pappad(Indian chips) Everything came out as cold as it could be and I strongly recommend not anyone who like to taste Indian food to judge by this restaurant. This review is from 4 adults and 3 kids who hated their kids menu of Mac&cheese / chicken finger too!
