What a terrible experience! Yesterday was my daughters birthday and we were looking forward to having dinner a nice dinner here. We didnt mind the 45 minute wait for a table as it was a Friday night and so we decided to order a couple of drinks while we waited. The bartender, "Johnny" handed us 2 drinks in small plastic water cups. When I nicely told her that wed prefer glasses she very rudely and nastily told me (in front of our kids) that she would not serve our drinks in glasses because she was "running low". Seeing that she had plenty of glasses on the counter behind her, I asked again very politely...thinking wed paid full price IN the restaurant and also that she had served the couple next to us in glasses. She was as rude as could be and flat out refused saying that she only had 2 glasses left and even had the nerve to flat out tell us that when we ordered the next round of drinks, she would give us glasses. When I asked her name she loudly told us that shed be happy to get the owner for us since he was the one who told her to save the glasses and serve us in Plastic cups. I could not believe it. Needless to say we left without dining. My daughter was so upset and embarrassed by this womans treatment of us. We stopped on the way out to inform the hostess of what had happened. She and the male host at the front were very nice and apologized profusely and even refunded what we had paid for the 2 drinks. We didnt accept the refund and let each of them keep the $5 we had paid as tips for their sympathy but by then we were all so upset by the experience that we just left. Very disappointing!

Attempted to eat here, however after 4 burgers they still couldnt get it right. The first 2 came out black, crispy, and burnt with cold soggy fries. They took them back and brought 2 new ones out, both were very rare (neither of us asked for rare) and even soaked the bottom bun with blood tinged grease. The manager came out and was incredibly rude, only offering to take a portion off the meals neither of us ate. We both said no, we arent paying for a raw meal we didnt eat, and he told us we ate "a good portion, at least half". Incorrect, one bite was enough to know the burger was practically still mooing and I then picked them apart to see if ANY part of it was edible. The manager was incredibly unprofessional and rude beyond what anyone would consider acceptable for an employee of a service based establishment, much less someone who is considered a supervisor. As we left we told him to have a good night and he didnt even respond or acknowledge that we spoke. Being a former bartender, I get it, it was ultimately the kitchen that didnt get it right and we still insisted we tip our server. But you dont treat customers like that when they want to spend their money on your food and there are 30 other options right around the corner. Really surprised and disappointed with the food and the behavior of the so called manager.

So for Fourth of July, me and my girlfriends decided to grab some food to go from reel cafe. Being the Fourth of July, it was super busy as expected! We walk in and order our food from the bar and patiently wait up front. Well as we are waiting, the hostess was like GIRLS... how do I say this without sounding like a total b****.. can you stand ANYWHERE ELSE? As I said, it was Fourth of July, packed in there and everywhere else we would stand we were in the way of someone else. The hostess was so so rude about it and snappy to someone who was a paying costumer. This place isnt big! Well, when our food finally came out it was sitting on the bar for some time, and no one was bringing it to us. (Honestly we were hesitant about walking over there after the rude encounter we had about being "in the way)." So I finally walk over to a different girl (the bartender) and asked politely if I could have my to go food that had been sitting there for quite some time. THEN THIS GIRL AS WELL, snatched up the bags and rudely gave them to me while rolling her eyes. WORST costumer service. Those girls were so rude to us when we were paying just like everyone else we just got it to go. Im giving a two stars because the food was also sub par. Will not be eating here again after this experience.

I was at reel cafe tonight and witnessed a patron at the bar fall and severely hit his head on the outdoor bar pavement. the bouncers responded by just picking him up.said to the bouncers that paramedics should be called to look over the patron due to the severity of the fall. They proceeded to tell me to f*** off and stop telling them how to do their job. Then told me to leave the bar. I didnt leave I called 911. Paramedics arrived and I passed the necessary information and asked to speak to a manager. The manager on duty refused to give me his name or the bouncers and said he will handle the situation and also told me it was time to leave the bar. Upon being pushed out by bouncers with manager in tow they followed me down the street threatening to "beat my ass". I guess they were ashamed of their handling of a possibly sever medical situation. I will never go to this bar again and I would hope other people heed the same advice. They dont care about their patrons, just want the dollar. Shame on you reel cafe for employing people that are so selfish and rash. Im sure ALE and the Wilmington Police Department would not be happy to hear about this if the patron was severely injured.

Easily one of the most outgoing, helpful, and congenial groups of servers and hostesses we have ever had, all around rock stars. We ended up going to the RC three days in a row, multiple times, for both food and drinking. Food- delicious and served very fast! Impressive since we had a group of 8. Try the crab dip and the tuna! Cant go wrong with the Shrimp & Grits. Got a special recommendation for the Caprese Salad with double grilled chicken, thanks Stacey ;). Atmosphere- awesome locale and outdoor patio area. Loved the live music all weekend. Roof top bar, second story karioke, and outdoor patio on the corner led to some good times this weekend. Service- the hostesses and servers were literally the cherry on top of the RC experience! Big shout out to Stacey, Joanna, and Cher, yall showed these boys a good time this weekend! Our buddy John had the "best birthday weekend of my life", thanks everyone! Hes already said "gift certificates to the Reel Cafe are going to be the only thing on my Christmas list this year" Will definitely be heading to the Reel Cafe as soon as Im back in Wilmington

My wife and I went there for years to party on the rooftop bar in college while dating. The view of the river and downtown is amazing. We also loved the live music in the patio bar outside. The building is historic looking and with three floors of entertainment you cant go wrong. After getting married and two wonderful kids later we starting eating dinner there as well. We soon realized the food was as good, if not better than the nightlife! We love seafood and they have the best seafood in Wilmington .Besides the seafood, the steaks and burgers are also a great pick with very fair pricing. I love the laid back atmosphere and the servers and staff are always so accomodating and attentive to our needs. Thats important to us with the kids as well. Oh yes, I must also mention that our kids eat for free with purchase of adult meals!! The place is great for a night out with something to offer for everyone, or a great place to get a good meal with the family. Its our favorite place to go. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!
