We only had one night to enjoy the downtown scene in Wilmington one Friday night. There were so many restaurants from which to choose, but were glad we found Front Street Brewery. The crowds waiting outside were our first hint that this was a popular place. A smiling doorman held open the door and greeted us. Nice touch. There was a long wait, of course, but the hostess took our number and texted us when a table was ready, so we had time to explore Front Street a little more. The food was good and reasonably priced. My Ruben was a traditional one -- just perfect -- and the loaded potato salad was wonderful. It was creamy with lots of mayo, just the way I like it. My husband had fish and chips, and though he wasnt thrilled with the breading, thought it was tasty. It was the beer of course that he enjoyed the most. Its always the waiter or waitress, though, that makes or breaks a dining experience, and luckily we had a great one. Jackie was friendly and pleasant from the start. She knew her stuff and was able to answer questions and make recommendations, especially when it came to the beer. Though she and the restaurant were incredibly busy, she took time with us and never made us feel rushed. Very efficient also! We ate on the upper level and were in awe when we started down the steps and saw the bar. Hundreds of bottles sparking in the light and reflecting in the mirror made quite an impression. We love to eat at brew pubs, and this is one we would definitely return to often, if we didnt live six hours away! At least we have a cute Front Street Brewery glass in our collection of micro brewery glasses to remind us of a very enjoyable evening.

Ive lived in wilmington for 6 years and never tried front street because of the negative Ive always heard regarding the food. Ive tried some of the beers in the past and as a huge craft beer enthusiast I was not a fan. Today my wife and I were passing at lunch and decided to give it a try. I see why I have always heard negative. No words to describe but gross! Nachos with stale overcooked yesterdays chips, we ate them because we were very hungry. The slow cooked chicken that comes on them seemed like it had been sitting in a steam table for days. I just drenched them in Bbq sauce and they were tolerable. Fried green tomatoes were burnt and crunchy, and the oil theyre cooked in should be changed or filtered daily. I not sure what the "pimento cheese" was. Seemed like a ball of shredded cheese that was warmed slightly and melted to make it thick. The chicken tenders were questionable as about half way through the second my wife realized the pink inside. Now I must say the server was good, but as far the rest of the staff I cant say much. We never saw a manager near our or any table. But as we were leaving we saw what I could assume to be one because she was wearing a red shirt and she stood there with two host and no line out the door and just watched us leave not saying a word could have atleast had a host hold the door since I am in a cast up to my knee. Cant belive I wasted 60 bucks on lunch and will not return. Thought as a manager you may want to address these issues.

My girlfriend & I stopped in Saturday, Oct 12 around 6 to get a beer & some food. We ordered 2 cups of soup (a roasted red pepper & crab soup and the beer cheese soup) as well as the pulled chicken nachos. Unfortunately when the food came out the beer cheese soup was slightly more than lukewarm and the nachos had unmelted cheese and cold chicken in the middle. I asked our waitress to please get me the manager, which she graciously did. He was the biggest disappointment of the entire trip (more than the food). When he walked over to our table he didnt bother to even introduce himself, only to ask what the problem was. When I explained about the cold food, he replied that he was surprised about that, and didnt even bother to apologize. He did ask if he could replace the soup & nachos at which point I told him no thanks & that I wasnt going to pay for those two items, but I would pay for the other cup of soup (which was good) and our 2 drinks. His reply was "awesome" and he left our table. Truly disappointing customer service from a place with such great potential :(

Visited Wilmington recently with 3 young kids (ages 8,11,11) and was looking for a place that would accomdate us downtown. This place was lively, had a reasonable wait and wasnt too pricey. Our wait was about 45 minutes (as estimated) and we walked around while we were waiting. The buzzers of course dont have much range, but we just checked back in after about 30 minutes. The food and beer were suprisingly good, I wasnt expecting much, and the price was very reasonable. I had ribs and I have to say they were VERY tender and really good, probably in the top 25% of ribs Ive had at restaurants. Everyone else enjoyed their food also. The atmosphere is lively, a good optiion for both friends and family outings. Positives: Surprisingly good food at a very reasonable price, lively atmosphere. Negatives: Can be a wait on weekends, not as much seating as I expected.

We were disappointed by the food especially after reading the reviews. We got the onion ring appetizers and they were very greasy and flavorless. I got the bratwurst with onions and sauerkraut entree, with pasta salad and tomatoes and cucumbers as sides. The brat was tasteless and I had to use all the mustard to get any flavor . The pasta wasnt tossed in anything just plain cooked pasta noodles. And there were no tomatoes in the cucumber/tomato marinade. I will never go back. Highly overrated and the great reviews must come from the locals who frequent the place. There are much better places to spend your money in Wilmington than here. Now if you like alcohol then this is the place! I will give them that as I have never seen as big of a liquor assortment as I saw there.

We had lunch there last weekend and have eaten there numerous times for years as we are locals. Our waitress, Manny was attentive & personable. The Tiny Tim brew was wonderful ~ we come every winter holiday season for it! However, I gave 3 stars because of the food. Not good. The Reuben was very dry. No thousand island dressing (or anything), not grilled with any oil or butter, almost no cheese and a tough & small amount of corned beef, almost no sauerkraut. The Cuban should be pressed, not thick & have more pickles to be authentic. The homemade potato chips were also disappointing ~ chewy & tough. We didnt complain because Manny was so pleasant. Will not order sandwiches again as they really need improvement but will be back for Tiny Tim.

I normally love eating here, and I always order the Cuban sandwich because its amazing. This last time we went, I ordered it without looking at the menu. When we got the bill, it was more than it usually was. After we searched the menu and noticed that the sandwich was seemingly gone from the menu altogether, the waitress informed us that it is now called the "hot Havana" and costs more money. This is just a ploy to make more money off of people who know what they want. If I ask for the Cuban sandwich, I dont want you to assume I mean something different and then charge me more for it. At least explain the changes youve made to the menu. I expected more from a place I enjoy going so often.
