This was the first time we had been to Nikkos and we were very disappointed. Entry was odd -- we did not use the valet but also did not realize that to get to Nikkos you had to park on the 4th floor of a parking garage and then find an elevator that will take you down into the building. The elevator was not marked very well and hard to find. When we went into the building, we were not greeted...and we were sat very awkardly facing a family that was eating. The layout is a little strange here...plenty of tables faced each other. We ordered an appetizer and several rolls (since this was our first time, we really wanted to try a good portion to get a feel for the place). The appetizer was a thin slice of tuna over top of what is usually garnish at other sushi places. The thin slice of tuna was really odd -- broke apart too easily. It was like they had to of pounded it thin to get it THAT thin. We also tried to scallops appetizer...but to our surprise it only consisted of 2 scallops, making us wonder what if we had more people n our party? The scallops were over done, way too spicy and sat on top of risotto that Chef Ramsay would have sent back -- too plain, no flavor. The rolls that came were all OK, but not much taste or flavor. They all tasted about the same. The lettuce inside of the rolls were very odd...I did not care for that at all. Each of the rolls were sloppily rolled, some were way too small or way too big. When we left, no one said goodbye or anything friendly like most restaurants. Overall we were really disappointed with this place. I would not go again.

No stars. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I ever had. You walk into the restaurant and the techno music is so loud you could not even hear the staff. I walked by the sushi bar on my way to the bathroom and the smell of rotten fish permeated my nose. All of the female guests were dressed like prostitutes. They obviously got the idea that this was appropriate from the owner who was wearing a skin tight mini dress, cowboy hat, and feather boa. She walked around the restaurant with a tambourine dancing around. Due to the smell of rotten fish I ordered something cooked. I ordered the SAUTEED SALMON, GORGONZOLA SAUCE described on the menu as: Sautéed assorted mushrooms and asparagus, splash of truffle oil. Although the piece of salmon was large it was sitting in a pool of oil. The taste of blue cheese was so over powering you could not taste anything else. The asparagus was tiny little pieces of the stalk chopped up, there were no florettes at all. Our waitress completely ignored us and we went without drinks the entire time. If you want to over pay for bad service, bad food, and a horrible atmosphere, eat at Nikko you wont be disappointed.

Great vibes... but the food was Terrible. Me and my boyfriend went to Nikkos on a Saturday night around 9:30pm. The energy and ambiance was superb. Great scenery and the Dj was stellar. When we sat down we ordered a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Melon passion cocktail. The Cabernet was horrid and the Melon cocktail came in a wine glass and tasted like a water down popsicle. We then proceeded to order two teriyaki dinners one with chicken and one with chicken and shrimp. It took about 45 mins before our food arrived and astonishingly the food tasted horrid. The rice was undercooked and tasted like they froze it from the night before and cooked it the next day with lots of oil in the pan. The chicken was very suspect it had a teriyaki drizzled that tasted like death and the chicken seemed as if it wasnt real. The shrimp was just plain terrible and unseasoned. We mentioned to the waitress we werent satisfied with the food and she just stared at us like a deer in headlights so we just decided to pay and write a review. We may go there again just for the atmosphere and drinks but we will not return for the food. Maybe we will have to try the sushi :)

Alright Google, what the hell. We were in Charlotte last night at 10pm wanting to eat somewhere trying to find a place for over an hour. Then we found Nikkos on google only giving 2 $$ so we thought "Hey, affordable sushi in Charlotte? Sign us up!!" No sooner when we arrive we saw there was complementary valet parking... uh oh. Ok ok this might still be good, so we just go in... another uh oh. Now, I appreciate the finer things in life, Im not gonna deny it. But when youre tired af in Charlotte after a long hard day trying to find a place to eat that isnt as busy as Disneyland, its aggravating when the google page says its AFFORDABLE when actually itll cost you an arm and a leg, AND the music was SUPER loud too. How the he// is anyone supposed to eat when the DJ (btw there was a DJ) thinks hes freaking Steve Aoki. Didnt try the food but the atmosphere was spectacular. Im not giving the actual place 2 stars, actually if it werent for the music and high prices it would have been great but when google says its affordable, and its not and youre starving it pisses a person off. Please fix your page on google so regular people like us arent deceived.

While travelling for business in Charlotte I was hungry for sushi. Rather than risk the 3-star rated hibachi grill by my hotel I made my way to Nikko. Waste of Time. When I arrived I appreciated the complimentary valet parking. But things went downhill from there. The hostess asked me if I wanted a table or to sit at the bar. So I said bar and she told me to seat myself. But when I wanted to sit at the sushi bar (which was wide open) I was told that I would need to be seated by the hostess. Not long after I was seated the dance-techno was turned up to a level I found annoying. I realize that this may be a matter of preference. But there was also a girl parading around making a racket on a tambourine??? I started with a salad that was way over-dressed with a very mediocre salad dressing. The fish I ordered was good, but my nigiri all fell apart (not my first time with chopsticks), and a couple pieces contained punishing doses of wasabi. I was most irritated that I was unable to get my drink refilled until I was ready for the bill. I would recommend trying something else.

WATCH OUT! Keep a close eye on your receipt and keep your signed receipt. Case in point, I dined there with friends and we split the bill. I gave money to my friend and they left the tip on their bill (large bill for the table). The waitress mixed up the receipts and he signed mine and vice versa. Nikko knows that they made the mistake but they will not fix it. They want my friend that lives out the country to call them and pay them the money to fix the mistake. Ridiculous! Food is overpriced and customer service stinks worse than a piece of sushi left in a hot car. Nikko you have now lost a loyal customer and all of my friends...I will NEVER dine there again on principle that you refuse to make things right. Instead of Nikko...I recommend Pisces Sushi in the metropolitan or Ru Sans. Try the tempura fried oreos at Pisces...delicious!
