Oh where to start. I was in search of Gyoza. They have Gyoza...that is where it all goes south. This place has 3 stars for a reason. 3 stars is really really high if you look at the ONE STAR I gave it. Its a flipping train wreck. It is what every failing restaurant show is trying to fix X10. Everything is wrong with this place. The outside should tell you not to enter. Its a mess and unkempt. Three feet in the door should have told you to just walk away but I wanted Gyoza. The inside is an even bigger train wreck of a mess. I think it used to be a seafood/beach restaurant. Its just dirty. A quick walk around and you can see fingerprints and dirt everywhere. The inside of the place has not been cleaned in a long time. The tables are all covered in some type of fake leather material and are ugly as sin. There are piles of supplies all over the place like they cant figure out where to put anything and have run out of space. There is a back room that is filled with crap all the way to the ceiling. The sushi bar looks dirty and if you look behind the bar you will see an even bigger mess. Just crap everywhere that does not belong. Everything feels broken and out of place. The bathrooms are not dirty but they are not clean either. You just dont get the feeling you should be in there and washing your hands is never going to make anything better. The menu is a mile long. Way too long for anything in the back to be fresh. Needless to say the Gyoza was either steamed or deep fried. Sorry you cant do that. Gyoza is pan fried and then steamed. So this trip was to prove that I would never go here again. When you put "AUTHENTIC JAPANESE" on the menu then you had better know what that means. Nothing in there is "AUTHENTIC" anything. The lack of customers to chair ratio should have been another indicator of how bad this was going to be. During a lunch rush in the middle of a business area they should be packed but sadly they are not. Every restaurant in the area is busy like crazy during lunch and there are 10 cars in the lot and about 10% of the chairs with butts in them. That is a bad sign. I cant stress this place is a mess. If you think its "OK" or "NOT THAT BAD" then you clearly dont know what clean is or how a restaurant should look and operate. They should be closed down and a deep cleaning done along with a huge reduction in the menu for starters. These people should not be running a restaurant at all! I could go on and on but will just advise to not go here and waste your money. Any place that discounts bugs laying around and replies on Yelp is not to be trusted. They are making excuses. Take your $10 - $15 and go next door to the McDonalds...even if you threw away the McDonalds after you purchase, it would be a better option than eating here. I am trying to save you! PS - For anyone who gave it 3 or more stars....shame on you!

Ill start off by saying that I have never left a review for a restaurant beofre, however this place was SO GOOD I just had to tell people about it. My sister and I were very hesitant about giving the place a try, but it came highly recommended by a friend. It doesnt look like much. The outside signs have several lights that are burnt out and the inside decor looks like someone took an industrial-style bar and overlaid a bunch of asian themed items. So, again, hesitant to give it a try but then the food came. I ordered two rollls and they were so enormous the plate was over a foot in diameter and piled high with food. The presentation was great with decorative lettuce, carrots and an Orchid flower! At every other asian place Ive gone to I have avoided the bright pink pickled ginger because I couldnt bring myself to eat something that oddly colored. However, at Ishi they pickle the ginger themselves in-house so it was a normal ivory ginger color and tasted amazing!!! I could only eat half of what I ordered so next time I go back I plan on only getting one sushi roll.

I really used to love Ishi, especially because they have a delicious roll, the Magic Kingdom. My latest experience was less than stellar. The lighting is incredibly dim, and the building looks like it is in disrepair. The seat still had food on it from the last client, though the restaurant was nearly empty. The food temperature was noticeably lukewarm. My roll came with spicy mayo on it, and I was unaware from the menu that it came with that. It tasted fine; my preference is without. When checking my bank account later, I had been charged for the tip I left twice - once with the meal receipt, and again, above the meal receipt. I suggest tipping in cash if you choose to go. I tried to call before they closed and no one answered. I let it go, but I will not be coming back. My boyfriend was satisfied with his shrimp and rice meal. The service was fine. I dont mind eating in a dive location, but it is bothersome to be charged twice for something, and then to be unable to get through on a phone call.

BEST SUSHI IN TOWN. SALMON ARE FRESH CUT EVERYDAY. AS FOR ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO DONT THINK THIS PLACE IS GOOD FOR YOU THEN I WAN TO SHARE THIS POEM When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road youre trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest, if you must, but dont quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When he might have won had he stuck it out, Dont give up though the pace seems slow, You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out, The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far, So stick to the fight when youre hardest hit Its when things seem worst that you must not quit. For all the sad words of tongue or pen, ISHI IS STILL THE BEST OF ALL

I ordered a sushi roll to go. When I got home I found it was covered with spicy mayo and eel sauce. Nowhere on the menu did this roll say that it came that way and since it was my first time ordering it I didnt know to request it to be removed. Oh I should also mention I paid for my order with cash and never received any receipt when be handed the order to take home. I called them to address the issue of the sauce being smothered on my sushi roll and they told me I would need to come back in with order for any kind of credit. Not refund but credit. I could go on but the lack of service and sympathy I got from the person who I spoke to on the phone I think best I should end my review on this note. No customer service, roll was incorrect and soggy from the amount of sauce poured all over it and they did not care to do a damn thing to fix it or make me want to return to eat there ever again. Very disappointed.
