(PLEASE READ BEFORE EATING HERE) I went there this past weekend for my birthday and I can tell you this was the worst experience I had ever had with a restaurant. The guy that cooked our food kept mixing up everyones order, slinging food (when trying to do tricks with the spatula), and sprayed saki in my eye when its suppose to be in my mouth. Then to top it all off one of my guest found a paper napkin that was wrapped around the raw shrimp in his food. When we spoke to the manager, she came to us and ARGUED that this would have never happened because the chef cooked the meal in front of us and it was impossible. Not to mentioned she then stated, "I brought napkins to the table, but I will go check my cameras."At that point she had insulted my guest, basically calling him a liar. I chose this place for my birthday dinner and it turned out to be a very bad dinner for me. I would never go back to this place because the staff was not friendly at all. I rarely right reviews and support a lot of the business are here in Charlotte for support, but most places as such doesnt know the meaning of customer service and what ROI really means when providing excellent customer service. Also, I never received the birthday experience that was shown to there other guest.

We came with a group when the restaurant was nearly empty. It took 30 minutes to seat us, 20 of that with our table reday in plain view. We waited an hour for food while numerous tables around us who arrived 30+ minutes after us received food. After an hour, a few people got their food, and for the next hour the rest of our groups orders came out in disjointed pieces. The wait staff was MIA the majority of our visit and many orders had to be corrected. The food was mediocre at best. It took another 20 minutes to get our check and they gave us multiple checks for the same order instead of one. Management wasnt willing to do anything to compensate for the poor service. Save yourself a headache and never come here.

I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone due to the poor customer service we received from the hostess and our waiter.when we got in we were told due to big party we couldnt sit at the hibachi table so we had to sit at a regular table. Then once seated the waiter which was a guy was very rude. He brought out drinks in to go cups while other tables had glasses. We did not ask for a to go cup at that. He tried to explain his reasoning and had a attitude because we asked for our drinks to be poured into a glass. The waiter was rude from beginning to end and we shouldnt have left a tip but we were not gonna treat the rude waiter mean because he treated us that way. It was my first and last experience there.

The service was very poor. The server rarely checked for new drink orders, but what was worse was how they handled allergy restrictions. The server and kitchen gave incorrect recommendations when asked what food items suited our allergies. Thankfully we knew enough to correct them, but it could have been very problematic if it was a more hidden ingredient. I would strongly recommend people with allergies try another restaurant. The actual food was actually fairly good and the chef at the table was fun, but the rest of the experience ruined the night.

We are out of town guest and a reservation was made. After an hour of sitting we still had no cook at our grill nor food. We had eaten our soup and salad and bowls were cleared. We ended up paying for our drink and leaving. To have to wait that long and continue to be told it will only be another minute is completely unacceptable. If they wanted to fill the tables before serving peogle they should say so. Even after additional guest were sat with us, the wait was still long! This was the slowest Japanese steakhouse Ive ever been to.

Came in for lunch, to-go order. Took hostess very long time to acknowledge that I was standing there. When she did acknowledge, she was rude and unfriendly. When I asked her how long it would take to make food for take-out, she said 20min. Unfortunately, thats just too long for lunch place. So I left and went elsewhere, got food, went back to office and would still be waiting at Red Ginger right now, even as I write this review. Did not try the food, but gave it 2 stars due to rudeness and lack of promptness.

The best Teppanyaki in Charlotte. Our chef Sumo was new to the restaurant, and he was the best part of this place. His hilarity and instigating made for a FANTASTIC time. The food was well prepared. The Teppanyaki meals all include an excellent onion miso soup, salad, noodles, veggies and fried rice. Service was very good, even though it was crowded, and our group raucous. The drinks are well prepared, but pricey, and much more expensive served at your table, than the bar, so have a tipple while you wait.

One star based solely on poor service. First time was busy week day, the server was struggling to keep up with all her guest. I figure it was an unusually busy night which they werent ready for. The second time I went sat at the round bar tables. This time was on a Saturday night. Again, our section, was way understaffed. No follow up on food or drinks. I got the wrong roll of sushi (even though the server wrote the correct one down). They just dont care for good service.

The food was good but the service was really bad. Our waiter took forever to serve us, she barely checked on us than when it was time to check out I initially was not going to leave a tip due to bad service. She later proceeded to demand a tip. I have never experienced that before where someone literally ask for a tip even though their service was bad.

Service was great and cook was entertaining. To be honest I was a little let down with the food. We came from out of town expecting this to be better than the Japanese steakhouses from our hometown but it was really bland. I hope this isnt the way it normally tastes but there really was no flavor.

The food was amazing and their plating was ingenious and phenomenal. However, the service I received from the hostess both on the phone and in person left MUCH to be desired. She was our first and last impression sadly, but the food and other staff members left a more favorable taste in my mouth.

The food was good, bar staff and waitstaff were very friendly, and the drinks were well prepared. The floor around the hibachi were sticky (everyone noticed and commented) and the chef was mechanical and not very engaging. The food was .. well, it was hibachi, same as it ever was.

I love love love this restaurant. The food is delicious. The hostess and wait staff are all welcoming and friendly. I travel for a living and will be here in this area for a while Ive been at least 3 times already and got my friends hooked as well.

Food is good, but Hibachi is over priced. More rice on your plate than veggies. $11 for six shrimp and a couple of pieces of broccoli and zucchini with a bunch of rice. Would do the Bento box next time as it looked reasonable.
