Only had the Margherita pizza and a salad. Ill start with; I love Peppers Pizza, Lillys Pizza, Sals, Alfredos, Amante, Pulcinellas, Bocci, 411 West, even chain pizza like Ledos and Papa Johns I love. Suffice to say Ive had pizza from just about everywhere around here and further north in the DC/ Baltimore area, and a few places in Manhattan. I dont say what Im about to say lightly. In fact I say it quite surprisingly (mainly due to the random, out of the way for most of us, governors club location.) The pizza I had from the lovely little Tarantinis is the singular best sauce, best crust, best ingredients, just best Pizza period, Ive ever had!!! Im going to have to try everything else now! Which brings to me to what I worry about this great place, the out of the way location. Im willing to drive from RTP to get to it. And I really hope Im wrong, but I dont think the Governors Club (the gated and very few surrounding condo communities) and one random triangle foodie, alone, are enough to keep it afloat. Heres to hoping it lasts and that more locals find and appreciate this gem!

Well decorated with great atmosphere and service, the food itself was not all that great and on the pricier side esp. when you consider most sides were a la carte. $$$ IMHO. Both my wife and I had entree salads with sliced chicken breast and the chicken was so dry my wife described it as "barely passable". The romaine in her ceasar was also dry, not that fresh, and the dressing with sort of blah. Not a place for people that like to eat salads or at least the night we went. Probably our favorite was my daughters bianco pizza, excellent fresh garlic and cheese flavor, good crust, with generous amounts of olive oil. My other daughters panini was also very good. To the restaurants credit, they asked about our meals and seemed concerned that we found the chicken to be dry and salads to be so-so. Based on our one experience I would not recommend them to a friend but also wouldnt be surprised if somebody else went there on a different night and found something on the menu they really enjoyed.

We often enjoy a relaxed and delicious dinner at Tarantini. The atmosphere reminds me of the many small, intimate New York restaurants which exist. You are always warmly greeted and the service is professional and as quick or relaxed as you want. We like to take our time and we never feel rushed. The food has never disappointed us. We always find the salads fresh and well-dressed and tonights veal osso bucco was delicious. Their crab cakes are the best! Although we have been dining there for a couple of years, Ive only tried two desserts -- cheese cake and their homemade cannoli, both of which were outstanding. I almost forgot to mention the freshly baked bread which is delivered to the table while we are enjoying our martini and/or glass of wine -- a great way to start.

My boyfriend and I went to Tarantini for the first time this past weekend. Between the two of us we ordered meatballs, calamari, chicken parmesan, the bolognese pasta, and the cheesecake for dessert (we were hungry). First off, the bread they serve is fantastic- warm with delicious olive oil for dipping. Our appetizers were prepared very well, also. Both of our entrees were great. The sauce was very fresh in both of the dishes and my chicken parmesan had so much cheese on top... YUM! The cheesecake was honestly the best cheesecake I have ever had- perfectly creamy, not too sweet, topped with a soft caramel and fresh strawberries. Such a great experience, as well. We met one of the owners and she was very sweet. The waiter was very attentive as well. We will be back!

Tarantini holds a special place in my heart. My husband and I started going here for Valentines Day the first year we were dating, and its continued to be our tradition ever since. Its a meal and experience that we both always look forward to. We both LOVE the fried ravioli appetizer, and my husband has gotten the fettucine alfredo a few times. We always splurge on dessert, and I dont ever remember being disappointed, though I think the chocolate mousse is probably my favorite. Its a little pricey, but for a special occasion, its a lovely place to go. Even though theyre generally always bustling, you can still hold a quiet conversation. We love it!

Definitely my favorite place in the area, and I eat here all the time. For as nice as everything is, I am always surprised at how affordable it is. Its one of the only places where you can see a really broad clientele, from older regulars to younger first dates. That seems to work because it provides a really nice, warm, and friendly atmosphere without being pricey. Not many places offer great food, with all or almost all of the entrees being under $20. Beyond that, the owners really care about being top-notch. They are not snooty, just committed to giving the best possible meal. I wish I lived closer, but its worth a trip!

Delizioso! My fiance and I go there often and always make sure to try something new. I have become desensitized to dining out, but Tarantini has a special something that makes it stand out from the rest of Italian restaurants. The pizza is always delicious and the specials are very inventive. Also, the atmosphere is very romantic and relaxing. The complimentary bread is great and they keep giving you seconds, and thirds... and maybe one loaf to take home! ;) PS. I am sad to hear that reviewer GIO was treated poorly. I am also Hispanic, but I have never experienced bad customer service at Tarantini.

I live in the Carolina Preserve section of Amberly in west Cary. I found this restaurant by accident on my way to Chapel Hill. WOW! I grew up in New York and although Ive been a North Carolinian for years and I cant believe that you can get this good of Italian food here. The Rigatoni a la vodka was the best dish Ive had at a restaurant in quite some time and I eat out a lot. The family that runs Tarantini is so cute and friendly and they really are putting their heart into this place. Food made with love and served with a smile. Its right around the bend from us just across Lake Jordan.

Tarantini is a family favorite. We can grab takeout when we are all in a rush and craving pizza/cheesecake/whatever else, or we can come for a really nice sit down dinner and expect great service. Starting out with the free warm bread covered in herbs with olive oil that they bring you while you are waiting, to the top notch deserts at the end of our meal, Tarantini never disappoints. My personal favorites are the Bianco pizza, bolognese with penne noodles, cheesecake, chocolate lava cake, fried cheese ravioli, and lasagna.

I really enjoyed dinning at Tarantini, the decoration is great and the food is even better. I had the Short Ribs and my husband had the Crab cakes , one of the best I ever had in the area. The server also told me that they can change any of the pasta dishes for vegetables if i decide to eat light :) . Also you have to try the cheese cake at Tarantini it is AMAZING, not the usual cheese cake you eat in other places. I definitely recommend Tarantini for anybody who is looking for a good Italian Food
