My husband and I arrived to the restaurant at 5 PM on a Friday. The goal was to leave Travinia at 6 PM to catch a movie located in the same shopping center. About the only good thing about our Travinia experience was that we were seated right away; most likely because they were not busy at all. Our waitress took 10 minutes to come over and introduce herself and ask what we wanted to drink. Our waters, bread, and salad came out timely enough and were good. Our entrees took over 30 minutes to arrive. People who had been seated after us where receiving their food before us. At one point, our waitress came to our table and told us our entrees would be out in 2 minutes and 10 minutes later, another waitress brought us our food. Our waitress revisited us a few minutes later and asked how are food was but made no apology for how long it had taken. A manager later came and told us that one of our dishes had been burned and they had to remake it which was the reason it had taken so long. Our waitress finally came back and asked if the manager had visited out table and again offered no apology. We had to literally shove our food down in order to make it out in time to see the movie. I ordered the gluten free fettuccine alfredo and added scallops for an additional $8. For that additional cost you would think the meal would come with more than 2 scallops. Overall the food was good but not worth the price. Service was horrible especially since the restaurant was not busy. Although the manager took care of our check, this gesture did little to make up for the negative first time experience.

Food was really good. The bread was awesome. Our waitress was nice and always kept our glasses full. The decor is some of the nicest Ive seen in a while. The only thing I can complain about was the service of the seating arrangements. We went in there around 5pm on a Sunday afternoon. There was maybe 5 tables being used all placed away from each other. We walk in and were seated over by the kitchen. Cool, we had our own corner of the restaurant. We were there about 5 mins and a group of 8 comes in. While there was probably at least 30 other tables open and that could accommodate 8 easily (the floor plan is really open), they decide to push two tables together right next to us and seat them there. Now if its busy and thats the only place to seat them, then thats fine. But when they could have been seated at least a table or two away why would you seat them right next to another table? It looked like the person who decided to seat them there was a manager (he was the only one not matching from a attire standpoint) so dont blame the hostess at the front. It felt like you were driving your *insert really nice car, say a Ferrari* and parked it at the end of the parking lot, far enough away where you are making the obvious statement that you really dont want anyone parking next to you. You come back to your car and you have a Geo Metro so close that you have to climb in the passenger door just to get in the drivers seat. Yea it felt like that.

Background Info: Wednesday night dinner, restaurant was uncrowded at the beginning but became crowded very quickly after we ordered. We were in a group of 20 diners. Susan and Monica provided some of the best restaurant service Ive ever experienced! EXCELLENT: 1) Service was remarkable. Our glasses never went empty, our food arrived hot and quickly and they were very interactive and confident in their skills! 2) Food was excellent - definitely "higher end" for a franchise restaurant of this price range. 3) Wine - we had a $50 bottle of red wine and it was very good for the price. 4) Bathrooms were totally clean and comfortable and well-stocked with good supplies. Very Good: 1) The bar and the bartending staff was very good. 2) They only have a few craft beer selections on draft, but what they have is good. I had the Foothills Peoples Porter and the Lonerider Shotgun Betty (Hefe) and they were great quality. Tasted like they well maintain their beer serving equipment. Glasses were good and appropriate for the brew style. 3) They had live musing on a Wednesday night. It was great accompaniment to the food. 4) The fireplace is a nice touch. Average: 1) Parking is difficult to find. Location is a challenge to get to, but thats about true of any place in the Cary/Morrisville area any more!

This was our first and will be our last visit to Travinia. Very sad, considering my love of Italian food. We waited over an hour for entrees to arrive. Tables all around us were having the same issue and one table actually left before even getting their entree because of it. When we finally got our entrees, my husbands was cold. We paid $22 for his entree which had 3 shrimp and 2 scallops. The risotto was definitely not risotto...it was horrible rice with a pasty tomato sauce. Plus, the whole thing was cold and under seasoned. I had the pasta Mia nonna and it was awful! It tasted like canned, bland sauce. I salted it 3 times and it was still bad. There was no reason to have the entrees re-fired because we had already waited an hour. When we go out for dinner, we always get dessert. Because the entrees were so horrible, we honestly didnt want to spend any more money at Travinia so we skipped dessert. Weve NEVER done that. All in all, we are very upset that we spent $75 and our Valentines Day at Travinia. We will definitely not be returning. I ignored the other Google reviews thinking that they were people being overly picky, but theyre not. I am usually very easy to please, but this food was just bad!!! Ive had better at a place like Olive Garden!

We went to Travinia Italian Kitchen on Friday night for the first time. The ambience is really nice. Perfect for date night! Our server was super friendly. She was good at recommending drinks based on our preferences since it was our first time. Since I prefer my cocktails a little on the sweet side, she recommended the Hawaiian Breeze which was very refreshing! They also serve freshly baked Italian bread with olive oil. For appetizers, we ordered the Italian Nachos, which sounded very interesting, so we wanted to give them a try. And we were hooked. They were so delicious. And the portion size was good for the both of us to share one appetizer. Since we were already pretty full with the bread and Italian Nachos, we just ordered one entree Seafood Cannelloni, which was one of the best seafood pastas I have ever had! Unfortunately, we were too full to order desserts. So we are definitely going back here for both the nachos and the desserts next time! Overall food is delicious and interesting, the restaurant setting intimate and the service impeccable!

My boyfriend and I were there last Friday night. We found the food very low quality and over priced, sides are extra. . I had the Chicken Parmesan and my boyfriend had the Sinatra Chicken. Nothing comes with the entree except bread. Both dishes were under seasoned and ingredients appeared to be canned products. The Sinatra dish was well presented but the taste was very bland. My chicken Parmesan tasted more like frozen patties, one had sauce on it, the other didnt. My side of pasta seemed like left over pasta with sauce. I do a lot of Coordinating business dinners and Im always looking for new restaurants to use. This is not a place I would ever use for a business dinner nor would I recommend. Brandon our waiter was friendly and cordial. The ambiance was good, but the food left much to be desired. For their prices on other dishes we would prefer to go elsewhere. This was our first visit and will be our LAST.
