In the area of Cary its hard to find a bar one would consider a "dive." I recognize that everyone defines a dive differently. But I see it as a bar that may fly slightly under the radar, and has a group of locals that frequent the place regularly. The Back Nine Pub fits right in here. Ive been a few times now and every time the service has been spot on, the drinks have been strong, and the bar goers have been friendly. If youre looking for a regular spot this is your bar. If youre away from home and looking for that hometown feel, this is your bar.

Tucked behind golf courses and luxury homes of Cary, Back Nines dark atmosphere and unpretentious vibe definitely set it apart from other places you can grab a drink in the area, so you wont see a family of five eating dinner here. Go ahead and curse all you wait and consider taking up smoking if you plan on spending some time here, because everybody else does and suddenly, you should, too. Service is usually quick and the typical fried bar food is good, so by dive bar standards, Back Nine gets 4 stars.

It took nearly an hour to get a burger and fries. Was not that busy (Although they only have like 8 tables). Beer took a little longer than I would have expected also. Not an unfriendly staff or environment but the kitchen was just "not up to par". Food was not good enough once I got it to make it worth going back. Basic bar food.

the wings are great and it is now smoke free and on fridays wings are 39 cents each! the server always renembers my order [because i go there alot] and drink and there is only 1 server but it is like there are 10 servers! i highly recomend the pub!

Renee is a top notch bartender and makes a damn fine Shirley temple, wings on point, and the orange Soda isnt bad either. Definitely a hole in the wall spot for you and your boys, not a fancy place whatsoever but I gets the job done!

Great little local bar. Decent specials and good food. Gets rowdy late night as Cary is hurting for late night life, but that makes it all the more fun.
