Griffon Gastro Pub Transit Rd Williamsville - We arrived 15 Minutes early for a 6:45 reservation on Tuesday and waited over 30 minutes to be seated. during our wait we were never approached by server from the bar for a drink order. The noise level in the bar was incredible, I have a safety & health background and would estimate the noise level at 90 decibels. After 30 minutes we were offered a table in the bar that would seat 4 on high chairs but we were a party of 5 and I am never comfortable at those tables and declined and asked for a table in the dining room as the bar was too noisy to have a conversation. After the host explained that our table was delayed because people have not paid their bill and were lingering I had to tell him that it was his job to tell them that people are waiting. At that time we started checking our phones for alternatives. Just as we were deciding on another restaurant we were told our table was ready. The waitress poured us water in Dirty Glasses but quickly replaced them when we pointed it out. I immediately regretted not leaving as the ambient noise levels were higher than an ACDC concert. This is not a commentary on the staff but the behavior of the patronage of this establishment. It reminded me of an elementary school cafeteria except the children were all adults. After the server took our order the drinks arrived within 10 minutes and appetizers after another 10. One of the drinks was supposed to be a double rum & coke but we could not taste the rum. The appetizers we under sized and cold. The meals arrived as we finished our appetizers and was the high point of the night. The burgers were cooked perfectly and they tasted great. The waitress was pleasant and I would rate the service as good even though they were obviously overwhelmed by having to deal with a table of thirty or so people. If you want to drink and hollar this is the place to be but if you want to sit and have a nice dinner with people that you have not seen for a while I would suggest another venue such as Chuck E. Cheese or Dave & Busters. Either would be an easier place to have a quiet conversation.

Had no reservation and arrived on Saturday evening at 5:00. Was told "It would be 15-20 mins for a table for 2, but you can wait at the bar." No room at the bar. Back to the door to wait 25 mins with no movement except those with a reservation. We decided to oder to go instead of wait. Were directed to order at the bar. Bar attendant was super nice and for the order taken right away. He didnt take our name just our money. Went to the side and stood by talking to someone else waiting on a table- 40 mins more- they were also told 15-20 mins. They were finally seated after a more than an hour wait. I went to see if it was going to be much longer for our simply "sampler" order. "Oh, I didnt see you standing here, its been done for a while." Really, did they want me to stand right in front of the bar pass through while they were preparing our food? They didnt come and look for us, which would not have taken much looking as we were standing at the end of the bar. Of course the food was cold when we finally got it. It did have good flavor and would have probably been delicious hot, which is why three stars. My thought- if you dont have a reservation they dont really care about you or how long you have to wait.

Ive visited Griffon Gastropub a few times now, and I really wanted to give it a higher rating. Their menu is eclectic, and unique. The service is good, and the food is very tasty. The restaurant is decorated nicely, in muted tones. The floor plan is open and has plenty of seating (although there is usually a wait). The problem with this restaurant is the open spaces, hard surfaces cause all the restaurant noise to bounce off the floors, walls, ceilings and tables. As a result, it is so loud that you cannot carry on a conversation with the other people at your table. Im not exaggerating here; you really cant hear the people across the table from you. Every time I leave I have a headache from the audible assault . If the management at the pub would add some softer surfaces; maybe some autistic tiles, they dinning experience would be a very pleasurable one. As it stands, I can no longer patronize this place. Sorry Griffon, but you lost a customer.

This is the second time Ive been here, and both times the food and servers have been great. I made a reservation for my birthday, and our table was ready on time. Our appetizers were very good (Lobster Crab Cakes and Firecracker Shrimp). Wonderful beer selection. I had the chicken and waffles sandwich, which had a lot of flavor and great texture. Three of the people at my table ordered the Wild Game burger, and they loved it, however they requested no tomato and one person wanted an egg, we got 2/3 with tomato and two burgers with eggs. This was no fault of our server, as he confirmed our order three or four times. We had a vegan dining with us as well, and she ordered the spicy vegan burger and loved it. Its nice that they include other dietary restrictions despite being such a meat heavy place. Cant wait to go again and try something new off of their interesting menu!

Let me start by saying that the food and the beer are excellent. The one star is for lack of integrity. We received our bill and handed our server cash and a card to split the bill between evenly. The cash apparently ended up in her pocket and my card was charged the full amount. Heres the part Im struggling with, I called the Griffin twice and with no return call. I then emailed them with a copy of the receipt and an explanation of what had happened. The return email, was a very half hearted response saying that we did our due diligence and you are correct. We talked to The server and she apologizes for the mistake. Im not sure when pocketing $50 in cash became a "mistake". Very disappointed, I would have expected a more robust response, unless this is a common practice .

Our waiter was very friendly and sociable, but not over the top either. He started us off with cucumber water which was very strange and none of us particularly cared for it. The beer selection is large and they have many to choose from in each category of beer. We split the duck wings appetizer which were crispy on the outside and very tender inside with a kind of sweet and sour sauce. I ordered the bison burger as it came which I would give five stars all the way. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the other entrees that were ordered at the table were not 5 stars according to the eaters. It is very loud inside on a Saturday night and pretty dark. You definitely need to make a reservation to get in here. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful experience! Had the emu burger and my wife had the pub platter (chicken strips, onion rings, fries, cheese sticks, etc). Food was so good!!! Had the Smithwicks (taste a lot like Rickards Red for us Canadians) and my wife had rosebud wine. Our server Suzanne was great and even brought us a surprise for my birthday that was like cinnabon but 100x better! I was so full from the burger but I couldnt stop eating the desert! If you like good food, good ambiance this is a great place to go! They also have a location in Niagara Falls, NY that is just on the other side of the Lewistom crossing. Highly recommend to everyone! Will be going back to both locations!
