Server Christine F. was awful. She was extremely rude to our party of 6. I came in late and was warned by my buddy that she was not a very nice person. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, but as soon as I heard the way she spoke to my significant other I decided that she was in fact a very unpleasant person. "Im sorry to be a pain but could you tell me what all comes on the shrimp tacos?" "The shrimp tacos?" (In an aggressive and loud tone) "uh, exactly whats listed under it..." My significant other has a sensitivity towards spicy ingredients and just wanted to know what all was on the tacos, but she didnt even feel comfortable asking if the dish was spicy after the servers rude retort. I felt fairly uncomfortable when the server decided to rest her hand on my back while leaning over the table on multiple occasions. Go around me. Do not put your hands on me without my permission. If you want to be a massage therapist then thats fine, but Im trying to enjoy my dinner... Maybe she had a bad day. Who knows. But when she brought the check to our table and dropped it off without even asking if we wanted the split the check, I had had enough. We were clearly a party consisting of three couples, its not too hard to split a check these days... The food was pretty good, but I am not sure we will return based on the awful and disrespectful service. Christine, sorry if you had a bad day. However, you work in the service industry. If you cant get over yourself and treat your customers with respect, get a new job.

We are local and have been wanting to try this place. So very glad we did! Loved everything about it. From the patio seating out back, to the lovely wait staff who were so attentive, the drinks and the FOOD! I tried the cocktail called "All Bets Are Off" and it was amazing. Mezcal and vermouth and some other yummy stuff...very smoky and perfect for a Satuday night. We had the house guacamole, Mexican Street Corn and the Burrioto Bowl . It was all top notch . We have several favorite Asheville retaurants and this one just joined our top three list. I loved the casual atmosphere and there were several other dishes on the menu I cant wait to try. Well definitely be back and recommend it to our friends.

Food is mediocre and the service is begrudgingly annoying. Tried to have dinner one night with a couple friends, the server came over 4 times before we were ready to order. This was over the course of 10 minutes. It seemed like we were getting on her nerves for not being as ready as she was. She was attentive, I do appreciate that; but when youre having a conversation in which you are deliberately interrupted several times, it doesnt make it fun to be there. I simply cannot justify the price of the food in comparison to quality. Tequila selection is fabulous but They charge FARRRR TOOO MUCH for selections like Espolon (which is not top shelf). Ive tried this place 2x and will not return.

I visited Mountain Madre Ashville this week, during my first visit to Ashville. I had plans to go somewhere else and for some reason ended up here. I loved their drinks and food. Loved them so much, that I went again the same week. The staff is really friendly and the service was outstanding. The owner remembered that I was celebrating my birthday during that week, and the second time sent me a nice and delicious surprise dessert to my table!

Service is slow, the food doesnt taste very good and the prices are very high. It cost $35 for my wife and I, my wife had 2 fajitas, I had 1 quesadilla, she had water and I had a sprite, which she tried to refill with water and I had to remind her later that sheer never brought me another sprite. Awful service and we were automatically charged an 18% tip which is why I believe we received bad service.

From the time we entered the restaurant to the dessert was a great experience. We were visited by the manager and the chef and the server was fantastic too. The food was also incredible. I had the pork belly tacos and my wife had the fish tacos. My daughter is vegetarian and she had the vegan chicken tacos and she said it was the best fake chicken she ever had.

Nice new and hip American - Mexican restaurant. Food is pretty good. (I personally can get cheaper and better Mexican food elsewhere) However this place has a nice vibe to it. Theyre open pretty late too, compared to most. Which is another plus. I still look around and try visualize the old club Scullys that was here before....Much cleaner now!! VHD

Such a cute place and love the outdoor patio but sadly didnt like the food at all. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 meals and none of them had any flavor. Very bland and for the portion sizings its way to pricey. So sad because I was excited to try this place. All the other reviews were raving about how good the food is so maybe we came on a off night.

Kyle cooked my wife and I up some mussels, pork belly tacos, and a great chicken dish that all seemed inspired and came out scrumptious. Christine was our server and did a great job serving us on the patio. We will most certainly return when we are looking for excellent Mexican food. Thanks Mountain Madre

Great new restaurant, the food was delicious and well prepared, definitely not your typical Mexican restaurant. The cocktail menu is very creative with a huge selection of tequila and mescal. The adjacent bar is open to the street and perfect for people watching and enjoying good weather.

Loved the vibe. Great location. This will probably be my new go-to spot in the north side of downtown. The tequila selection is excellent and the mixed drinks are well balanced and colorful in flavor. The food selections are perfect alongside my glass of tequila.

One of the most lovely, delicious Mexican restaurants in Downtown Asheville. They have very friendly service, large tables with great chairs, and the food is simply delightful. Great place to meet people and hang out while catching something to eat.

This is dangerously good food. These guys have truly perfected their craft and calling. The ingredients are fresh and thoughtful to the palate. The world is a better place with Mountain Madre.

Strait fire flames, chef knows how to cook. Upscale Mexican for a fair price. The quality of food just far surpasses your normal Mexican place, but the menu is kept simple. 10:10 would return.

Food was very good. Drinks were alright depending on what you order. Old fashioned margarita had a good punch while the special watermelon margarita was a bit lacking. All in all 4.4 stars.
