The tacos are where its at. As I said in my other review, the other food weve had here has ranged from poor, to whatever. Yesterday the wife and I dropped in and got a couple cold mugs of Dos Equis and a bunch of tacos; carnitas, pulled chicken and steak. The amount of meat they put in them is almost obscene. One taco feeds more like two. The flavors and textures of the various meats were all spot on and while I wasnt blown away by the salsa verde, the red one was SPICY. My wife had one of their tamales, which unsurprisingly, was just OK. Not much meat in there, or masa for that matter. The table salsa, which I had enjoyed on our other visits, tasted off. Like it had turned or something So, Tacos, Bean & Rice, Beers. That is what I would recommend from here. Everything else is a wasted effort.

Tacos Jalisco is by far one of the best little hidden gems in West Asheville. From the moment you walk in the wait staff is extremely attentive and anticipates your needs before you have to ask. The food is authentic, genuine, and delicious. The last time I was in I had the steak tortas and I went off the beaten path and tried the taco de lingua (tongue taco) both were beyond savory. I love to explore the menu in this place. There always seems to be a new culinary adventure on every page. So if you are out in the wild wild west be sure to try Tacos Jalisco.

Reliably good Mexican food! The tacos are large and classic, served with onions and cilantro. The chori-pollo is very good - chorizo and grilled chicken over rice, with an abundance of cheese sauce drizzed over it. The salsa is different from some of the other local Mexican joints; it is more watery than saucy (not a bad thing) and the flavor typically has a good kick to the front of the palate. I used to get the lengua tacos here regularly, but stopped when I discovered Tacos Munoz a little further down the road.

If you get bad service from the waitress and find yourself waiting an hour for food in a place with maybe 20 tables-- and then complain to her about it? She begins crying and gets her thug brother to literally threaten you and your family to fight INSIDE their establishment. A restaurant should never be dangerous if you speak up to the wait staff about their bad service when the manager is off work and not on the premises.

I almost hate to tell people how good this place is because if other people find out about it they are going to get too busy and I may not end up liking it as much. I have to be honest, for just nice relaxed atmosphere, local in-the-know neighborhood customers, great food, surprisingly pleasant staff, and fair prices this place is it. I wish the owners, and staff the best, they deserve it. The food is consistently good.

I cant say how the food was because they never gave me my food. After telling the waiter 3 times the food was not to go I sat and waited 30 mins for my food. My husband got his tacos quick and the waiter even said just a moment and your food will be ready. Come to find out my food was just sitting there waiting to be served but for some reason the waiter didnt want to give it to me so we left and will never go back!!!

I liked it and the service was great. My only problem is that the food is good, but not excellent. Maybe Im too picky but that is my personal opinion. Very good prices and it usually isnt crowded which is nice. I would recommend this place and even though its not AMAZING...it is still very good for the prices.

Cold food. Flavorless. One of the worst prepared Mexican dishes Ive ever had and I eat a lot of Mexican food! Mexican food should be flavorful and well seasoned. This was lacking on all accounts. I had a burrito Jalisco which was a room temperature chicken burrito covered in room temperature cheese.

Just OK , the 10 dollar beef burritos are 80 percent onion and peppers . The remaining beef is just that unflavored kinda tough meat . The chips are decent , Its just kinda bla . The service is good and wait staff is nice and you get a decent amount of food . But again its not that great of quality

I usually get tacos de lengua since I grew up on them and theyre usually good. The past few times they were bland and disappointing. Ive never liked their salsa...too watery and flavorless. I want to like it since my mother is from Jalisco, but Ive been disappointed the last few times.

Definitely one of the best places in Asheville to order your Tacos. This is as authentic as you can get in NC outside of Mexico. I got myself Steak Taco and it never disappoint me. If you are visiting Asheville, dont miss this one out in your itinerary.

Very good Mexican restaurant! The torta with pastor always comes out fresh and made to order. No salsa bar here, but their house made salsa always tastes fresh. Great beer prices. Be sure to ask for their home made hot sauces when you get your food.

My favourite Mexican restaurant in Western NC!! They have the best flavored food for the best price. Best flavored tacos: carne asada, and pastor tacos. Love them, and if you like spicy salsa, ask if the owner, David has made a secret batch.

Real Mexican food...I am from Texas and grew up in houses that made stuff like this! This is where the Mexican people eat their food....all the other stuff is fake with tomato sauce around here...

Great tacos at a fair price! It is a small Mexican restaurant in a strip mall off the Patton Ave and Haywood intersection. I think they are the best tacos in the competitive Asheville taco scene.

They were so nice and inviting. The food was was delish. My daughter got her food and had not mentioned she did not like cilantro (our fault) and they made her a whole new meal. Recommend!

I really enjoy coming here every time. The food is very good, hot, and comes out quicky. The servers are always nice and I love how the only music is coming from the kitchen.

Closest to authentic I can find in Asheville. Tortas are great, tamales are authentic, Tacos are generally good if not a bit dry. They serve legit Micheladas to top it off.

Totally my new favorite taco. $3.00 for an awesome fish taco. Well seasoned, perfectly cooked. The grilled peppers and onions are also superb and only $1.00. love it.

The food was not very good. It was completely empty when I arrived and the rice was mushy. The service was awful as well, the waiters kept making innuendos.
