Yuck, yuck, yuck. When I first went into Domo, I smelled something distinctly fishy and off. I decided to not to ask about it as I thought perhaps the trash wasnt taken out or something. When we were sat, the smell still didnt go away. I asked the server, or owner maybe, if we could move somewhere else but she looked really, really mad and asked what was wrong. I just explained there was something off with the smell near the table and she didnt say anything and grabbed our menus and made us sat all the way in the corner. Okay... Then, when it was time to order I ordered the Sashimi dinner and my friend had the Filet Mignon. The food was relatively quick but I would expect the food to be good! Before our entrees came, they gave us miso soup and salad. The soup was really watery and really didnt taste like anything except hot water with a bit of dashi stock. Sashimi was on ice and it made the fish really watery. I cant really explain it. I had sashimi elsewhere down the road and it was great but here it felt as though as the ice melted and made the fish taste watery. My friends filet mignon was really tough. He ordered it rare and it came out medium well. It was barely edible and the sauce was flavourless. He said that the meat might not even be filet mignon. When it came time for the check, I had my 15% off coupon out. She took it and gave me the check. NO DISCOUNT! I asked her about it and she said "I threw it out.". She gave me a new check without apology and glared at me. Over $40 for a two. I know Japanese restaurant are not cheap but I felt ripped off. Never coming back again. Domo arigato!

As we have been St James residents for 16 years - we have tried most of the sushi restaurants around here and while everyone raves about Kotabuke - I think Domos will be the one to beat once they get over being the "new kid in town" (I never was one for waiting an hour+ to be seated nor being served somewhat cool sushi). The better half and I are long time sashimi lovers and Domos never disappoints. They have premium grades of assorted fish and you can taste the difference from what you might eat in other venues. Go for the Tiradito Appetizers (jalapeno and yellowtail tuna is awesome), as well as, their Sashimi Ceviche (served in a martini glass). and the Three Way Tuna melts in your mouth For a memorable dining experience - order the Omakase (means "chefs choice) which pays honor to the chef and which Ken takes to heart. Omakase is normally a sushi and sashimi combination platter (you can request all sashimi or sushi) served on a bed of crushed ice (very cool!!!). The plating may not be an edible Picasso, but has a fine selection of fresh fish and shellfish. Unique to Domos is the "tiradito" South American dipping sauce and/or a ginger sauce- great alternatives to the usual soy & wasabi....cant decide which to use - double dipping is the way to go! One caveat: While the menu states the pricing is $65.00 (for 2) it can sometimes cost quite a bit more...depending on what is served, (or maybe they only do that with customers that they know will appreciate the additional delicacies - or not complain!!!) - All I can say is - we always leave feeling we got our moneys worth :-)

Ive driven past this place a bunch of times and finally decided to give it a try. What a mistake. I tried their online ordering, which was intriguing. I arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes later and the girl at the front counter told me just a few minutes. I sat down and sent some emails and texts and looked up and it had been 15 minutes. I went up and asked again and she said she‘d check. I waited about another 5 minutes and told her I had a meeting that they had already made me late for. I waited another minute or so and then told her I had to leave. The restaurant was less than half full and I waited almost an hour to not get my food. I think one of their waitresses tried to chase me down in the parking lot but by that point I was so annoyed I didnt even want to give them my business. In the future ill go to my usual places. Clearly these guys dont need anymore business.

I would like to start off this review by saying the person named "Yee Aung" is a family worker of Sushi Ichi Japanese Restaurant who had written a review about this restaurant in a negative way. The reason I know that is because me and my family use to eat there all the time. If you look at their google restaurant review with the name, "Yee Aung" youll see they are "flawless". Anyway ever since I saw the negative review, I havent been back. I recently ordered takeout from Domo Sushi and the food is very good quality, and also fast delivery. The past two weeks I have been eating food there for take out. I am very satisfied and will continue to get food from them. I have been packed will school work and havent been able to go in to eat yet with my husband but will be soon!

I put an order for delivery here for the first time with a 15% coupon. The order total was $80. I was told the order would be delivered in 20-25 minutes. After 30 minutes we called back to see if the order was on its way. I was then told that they did not deliver to my address and that the coupon did not include deliveries. The coupon clearly stated 15% for takeout or deliveries. An hour later when the manager realized how much food we were ordering they agreed to deliver and agreed to include the 15% discount. Sorry...Im not interested in eating sushi that has been sitting out for 50 minutes. After arguing with the staff there they called my house 3 times and finally left a message that we were not respsecting them. I will NEVER order from here again.

Terrible experience. I brought my 80 year old mother for a special lunch. The waitress not only provided bad service but she was extremely rude. She was impolite and took offense when asked simple questions. Ive worked in the restaurant business and was aghast that this restaurant would allow her to work here. She spent most of the time watching videos on her phone and took no interest in her job. I thought she was having a personal tragedy and was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, until I saw her watching you tube videos as we were leaving. Its no wonder they have a "help wanted" signed hanging in the front door. The food and sushi was adequate at best.

I think that Domo Sushi serves average sushi. I have gone to this restaurant for sit in as well as take out, and I have to say that the take out was a better experience. The take out food seemed more organized and prepared. I ordered a lunch box with tofu and it was not good. I am a huge fan of tofu and this tofu was significantly below par, it was dried out and the sauce that it was covered in was not tasty. On the other hand, a good quality of Domo is that it is convenient because it is close to campus and the prices arent too bad however if I had to choose, I would rather pay a little bit more for sushi of much better quality.
