I love this restaurant since the first day it opened and they have only gotten better. The management is not new. Its the original owner who has come back to revitalize things and obviously the two previous reviewers belong to a nearby competetitor restaurant (you can tell by the name they review by) as to who they are. I totally support the paper on tables ALONGSIDE THE TABLECLOTHES as they are going green and using 100% recycled paper which is recycled again after use-thus using less tablecloths which use harmful chemicals and harm our environment. A lot of fine dining restaurants are now using them both in the city and long island. All restaurants should use them and SAVE THIS WORLD. I applaud them for doing their part. I am not a tree hugger, but I know a good restaurant when I eat at one and Curry Club is one of them!! Why is Mr. Ashole talking about poison and death when it clearly proves that he/she is sick in the head and knows nothing like that has happened in Long Island in decades. Please keep your reviews on these sites for meaningful purposes and not as hate sites.

From the outside the Curry Club is built inside of an old train car, walking in you are engulfed in traditional Indian decor with the restaurant to your upper right and the Velvet Lounge to your left. Once you are sat you receive ice water and large half circle almost like a seasoned crisp tortilla chips; the menu has many options including an all vegan menu. The portion sizes are very expensive for the size of the dishes. I ordered a kebab dish which is served on a sizzling platter; the actual dish was not sizzling hot, marinade encompassed all other flavors, also got a side salad, shredded iceberg with sliced cucumber, tomato and carrot with a lemon slice to dress it. My boyfriend got a vegan vegetable Curry, rice sold separately. Both his rice side and his Curry were small and overpriced. Our friend ordered a lamb Curry, again rice sold separately. Not impressed with the portion sizes and prices. Flavor may be the only thing that didnt completely turn us off from our experience.

Can you believe that this restaurant is probably the worst restaurant on LI? I went there to eat last time and they didnt even welcome me at all. They just go after white people thats it. Thier food was so stale that I felt like throwing up in the end. I got my first glass of water after I was done with my buffet lunch. Do you have any idea how ridiculous that is? I always knew North Indian people are the most sickest and annoying people on earth, especially punjabis. Just go to raga......They are probably the close to better indian restaurant in Stony Brook/east setauket right now. I am never going to Curry Club again and dont recommend to ou either coz thier food are stale and cause food poisoning and sometimes even death. I heard somebody died last week after eating their food. So, if you wanna stay healthy and dont wanna die, dont go to curry club restaurant!!!! It is the worst restaurant in LI!!!!

Growing up on home made Indian food, I have very high standards and I can easily say that curry club has the best Indian food in Suffolk county and possibly long island. Its authentic, the atmosphere is great, friendliest staff youll ever meet, minimal wait times. The all you can eat buffet is worth the price. The dinner menu is perfect and all the items are cooked to perfection. It can be a little pricey but the quantity is enough for two meals, its worth the price. Also, theres a discount given for Stony Brook faculty and students, they do their part giving back the community. Been going here for well over a decade and dont plan on stopping. Oh, and they have great deals on Groupon.

Best Indian Restaurant on Longisland ...!!!! I Moved to California a year ago but i am still missing Curry club Terribly (Long island Stony Brook New York ) , The Curry Aroma , The Curry Flavour , the Ambience , The Incense ,The cool Smiles of the Servers , The simple humane Gestures , and not to mention the Owner of the Restaurant Such a Humble Human Being ..!!!! I heard "The Curry Club " Recently added a feather to its Cap , they bought a Huge Banquet Hall in Portjefferson Longisland , capacity of 500 people .. (its called The Meadow Club ) they serve both American FOOD as well as Indian FOOD there isnt it AWESOME ...!! I wish them best of Luck ..!!!

Warning! I went to the Curry Club this afternoon, only to find that the management has changed at the East Setauket restaurant. The buffet was much smaller, and the food wasnt as good. The price for the buffet was still the "extended" buffet price, but there were no dosa or other specialty items. Service was poor. The two(!!) servers they had on were doing their best, but simply couldnt handle the lunch crowd alone. To top it off, the rather classy atmosphere has been ruined by brown butcher paper on the tables. Very, very disappointing.

Extremely poor service, the waiter had no time or patience for anything, when asked about the items on the menu, he explained the entire menu in about 15 seconds, we get one serving of water for every 3 requests we made. We were so rushed at the end of the meal, the bus boy literally yanked the plates away when I was eating my last bite. The food is just ok, if we could understand more about the items on the menu, we might have ordered the right dished, we might. The gentleman who greeted us at the door is very professional and nice.

My family and I just had dinner at this restaurant. I was not impress at all. As soon as we walked in we noticed the very cold interior and it was extremely cold today. The menu was sticky and dirty. I ask for hot green tea and the waiter brought me a cold cup of tea. When i ask the waiter to bring me an actual hot cup of tea, he seemed annoyed by my request. The food was tasty but served cold. I definitely would not return or recommend this place.

Honestly, Its hard to rate this place. The food was good but it wasnt authentic (Which is okay). The staff on the other hand was, well, bad. I mean I hate to huge but they just seemed like they either didnt know what they were doing or just didnt care. The smell of the restaurant smelled like Indian spices, but it was also rancid. I gave Curry Club 2 stars because of the food, everything else was just bad. I suggest take-out for this restaurant.

The curry club is amazing, great food, authentic taste, amazing people and fantastic service. A very classy place with great prices for the portions. Definitely try out the Masala Dosa, but be careful not to eat one of the spicy red peppers that flavor the inside. The curry is fantastic, the Tikka Masala is exactly what you need, the Aloo Gobi is also amazing. Get a couple if mango lassis and some Naan bread it will feed your entire table.
