I tried to attempt to order takeout from this place and decided to change my mind after I heard how they make their burritos and how much they overly charge over the phone. Ill admit I abruptly hung up the phone on the waitress due to time constraints with my job as it was lunchtime and she placed me on hold SEVERAL times before we got down to business. Before I hung up I did state "NO IM GOOD" to the waitress right after she asked "so do you want the burrito?" Thats the end of it right?? Nope! About 1-2 hrs pass by and I get called back on my cell phone and was told my burrito is ready for pickup to which i replied that I specifically stated "im good" meaning I dont have any interest in ordering from them.She proceeded to get loud and belligerent with me stating "I have to pay for their burrito!" (*Who does that right!?) Well I was inevitably cursed out over the phone by this rude waitress who couldnt distinguish the time old saying that "The customer is always right." Not only from reading from other reviewers would I never eat here but I would never recommend ordering for takeout as well based on my experiences. Being latin myself and also a latin food fanatic ,it is quite disheartening to go through such a situation like this with an establishment. Only reason i gave a one star is because I cannot give a negative amount of stars!! My final 2 cents are ; I cant coerce patrons from not eating here BUT never ever order for takeout from here and renege or mistakenly have a call drop or worst hang up... unless you want a crazy waitress "burrito nazi" after you!

Great little Mexican eatery in Hackensack. Food and service was good, wouldve given 4 stars but wasnt happy with the "blind upcharge" for chips and salsa and the mistake to our order. When we first sat down your table is set with chips and salsa. We requested extra and were never told there would be a charge. I dont believe I have ever had a Mexican restaurant charge for chips and salsa, especially those who initially serve it at the table, so was definitely surprised by the upcharge. When inquiring about it they said only the initial serving is complimentary., however, nowhere on the menu does it state that, nor did the waitress inform me when requesting more that it would be charged. In addition, we ordered the cheese fondue appetizer and the amount of chips they serve didnt even make a dent in our bowl so maybe they expect you to eat the fondue with a spoon? Second, we ordered a burrito, they asked if wed like black beans or pinto, said black but it arrived with pinto, we were too hungry to correct it and it was still very good. Aside from the above it was a nice local place for Mexican, decor was very rustic and the food was good.. just be aware of the blind upcharge for extra chips and salsa!

My son and I drive by this place everyday on the way to his ride to school. Ive always wanted to try it, and last night (12/28/13) my family and I finally did! We got there early and had the whole place to ourselves for quite awhile. The decor both inside and out was a burst of a rainbow of color with authentic hand-painted designs accenting everything from the walls, the tables, even the chairs. The food was mouth-watering and exquisitely prepared and served with lots of description. I could have cried the chipotle sauce was so good! Everything was fresh and very authentic. Highly recommended! Do it with a Groupon like we did and youll get the best value!

I am a Mexican food lover who highly recommends this restaurant. I been a loyal customer since they opened it because of their delicious food and great customer service. One of the waitress "Judith" is the best she is really nice and funny. The owners everytime they see me they treat me like I am at home. I know it a byob place but when I bring my margarita mixers they happily prepare exquisite margaritas for me. I am looking forward eating molcajete and guacamole this weekend. Amazing place

Terrible food quality and service. When we sat at the table, waitress not even offer us a water. My wife and I ordered Chuleta Mazatlan, however they brought us just a grilled pork chops instead. Meat was badly prepared, almost impossible to chew. Because we were using Groupon half of the menu wasnt available to order from. With all the restrictions, it make using Groupon useless and looks more like a scam. Very disappointed. Will do recommend to stay away from this place.

If youre looking for legitimate Mexican food, this is NOT it. Everything was mush and had absolutely no distinction of ingredients. Quality of ingredients are abysmal. I dont know how anyone can rate these above 2 stars. I would have been better off going to a chain restaurant that has E. coli. My sister, who I brought food home to, said she would have rather regurgitated the take out and get something else.

Did not honor groupon deal, I ordered only 40 dollars worth, they used entire 120 dollar (I paid 60 for coupon). Most places let me buy desserts, drinks, take out. This one only let me order 4 entrees and rest I had to pay plus did not give credit for left over money. So for 40 dollars food, I paid groupon 60 dollars and I still had to pay for drinks and dessert on my own. Poor customer service

Bad service!!! I ordered delivery, and my food arrived over 45 minutes late. Once I received my order, I discovered that my order was completely wrong. I called twice to get my order corrected, and they hung the phone up on my twice. I finally had to drive over there to get a refund for food I did not order. I will never order from them again!

OMG WOW!! words can not express that TASTE of the Food here. This coming from a picky eater, i was blown away at their technique, style and preparation of the food offered. I am now a long time fan and dont mind venturing out into the world just for a TASTE of La Frontera!! A must try!! PS: bring your own beer :)

Horrible service! I went for lunch with my wife and the manager made us move to the back table since they were suppose to get "busy for lunch" 20 mn later a couple came in and they sat them down in the table I had sat originally. The place never got busy and there were plenty tables available. Terrible service.

Food was horrible. My chalupa didnt have a good taste. The steak was like beef stew. The pitcher of sangria wasnt really a full pitcher and we got charged $13. The guacamole had no salt and no lime. Service was ok. I will never go to this place again. Not worth the money at all.

Very good food. Had it delivered to the Vince Lombardi Service Area. Large portions of food. Very very happy had the Alambre Jarocho and my Co - Driver a Pozole and a order of Gringa tacos. Everything was awesome. Defenetly ordering again.
