I had a horrible customer service experience. I work with customers and the way the waitress and manager handled me proves to me they need better training. The last time I went was around February and didnt have any problems. I had my food and drinks. My ID expired on January on my birthday. In February no one said anything about expiration date and the drinks were coming. The next time I went it was a whole different story because Instead of the waitress looking at my ID, i mentioned to her it was expired. On Sunday, march 19th 2017, at around 5-6pm my friends and I went into dos caminos restaurant located at the meat packing district by 14th street. Maybe by looking at the schedule you can tell who was the manager on duty and the waitress. We were a big group so its not like we werent going to spend money. Everyone was ordering drinks and I had said before taking my ID out that it expired on January but February it was ok because I was getting drinks. Before I even finished my sentence and took my ID out the waitress was quick to reject me and said she cant serve me drinks. Im telling her my birthdate is there and it shows Im over 21 and she said she cant do it because its invalid. She turned and continue to just take orders from my friends. Now I understand the whole expired ID because at my work place we cant accept expired ID but I know there is a way to bypass it. I asked her for the manager. The manager came over and he was also quick to just reject me. I really dont know what the waitress told him but as soon as I said my ID was expired the explanation he gave me was what upset me. No managers should ever tell a customer that anyone that LOOKS 30 and younger needs to show ID. He said this after I told him Im 29 so its like he basically threw a number out there to try to make a point but it failed. Drinking age is 21 so why would he have to ask for ID if you "look" 30 and younger? Its like saying I cant serve you because u look gay .... ITS PREJUDICE!!!!! And he wants to tell me by law he cant serve me. ABSOLUTELY NOT! He cant serve me if I were under age but obviously Im not! We just got up and left and will never come back to this location. These people have to get it together !!! I know if I didnt mention the expiration, the waitress wouldnt even reject me but because I had mentioned it, i felt like I just wasnt there. If the workers are following this policy religiously then they really have to look at expiration dates and not just judge me by looks! P.S. I found my passport in my purse and didnt even feel like showing it to them because of how upset I was.

Dos Caminos translates to "Two Roads" in English. But maybe it should be renamed to "Cuatro Chicas" cause thats how many fine Nordic Thangs I rolled in with. Really we should of ordered "Dos" orders of the chips and guacamole cause the large order didnt even come close to satisfying the hunger of one of my fit and thick shawtys. It was tastier than a blonde tho but the size was way to small. The pollo tacos were some of the best I had in recent years and that tortilla soup made me wanna stand on my table and scream "AY CARAMBAAAAAAAAAA!! Dat was good!!" The service was all the way turnt up, one hunnid. Belee dat! Waiter was quick to take our order and was friendly, recommending us the best shizzz on the menu. He checked in to make sure we was 100 and none of my boos were thirsty for something else other than me. The Decor was modern with touches of authentic Mexican culture. Not overdone or corny but just right. The outdoor seating is the highlight of this whole joint. Located in the Nordic hunting grounds or known to you basic folk as the Meat Packing District, it is a dope spot to people watch and soak in that energy of the poppin neighborhood. Issa vibe meng. I recommend this spot if you are in the neighborhood with some thotties and want to play it safe. Reasonably priced, tasty food, solid service, nice outdoor seating and a great location. Lets do do this. Oh yeah did I mention the thotties loved it!

If I can give it a zero, I would... I went with a friend, as soon as we got there we noticed it wasnt going to be a good experience (I have dine at other Dos Caminos locations and never complained). The hostess was very rude to begin with. Once she sat us, the tables were dirty, very sticky !!! our food was stale and look like it had been sitting out for days and they had dumped it in the plate. I was very excited about the Guac, we ordered the small portion, and it was barely one avocado in there. My friend ordered the dish of the day, tacos arabes, which is supposed to be made with pork meat, they served him chicken tacos... I had the pink grapefruit, PEAR and avocado... my salad had not pears it had apples!!! we did not eat any of the food, and asked the hostess for management since she was the nearest person that works there, she responded with "in regards to what" with an attitude. After that horrible experience, w went to another Dos caminos location, the one in park ave, the service was impeccable, the food looked fresh and we got what we ordered.

Ridiculous prices, standard food. Staff was a bit obnoxious. Paid 8.75 for a single bottle of Dos Equis, and bartender seemed unhappy with just a dollar tip - she did spend more than 5 min. and used multiple registers to make sure to give return the change for my $20 in all single I guess to imply she was expected a multiple dollar tip... for a single bottle of beer. Waitress had some weird chip on her shoulder. 3 standard street tacos cost $20. Ordered a large guacamole for something like $24 (it was explained the difference between the small and large was one avocado v. two (so basically $12 per avocado). When we received the bill we were charged for two plates of guac, and when we pointed it to the server she seemed to be aware of the mistake, almost like she caught it but was hoping we wouldnt, so didnt bother to fix it. My previous experience at Dos Caminos near Gramercy wasnt any better - this is the last Mexican place I would optionally select.
