Located on Broadway in newburgh across from the courthouse, this Peruvian gem has always offered up great cuisine at an affordable price. The manager is always on hand to welcome you and the rest of the staff is just as attentive and courteous. Ive yet to have a subpar meal here and dont anticipate one in the near future from this family run operation. The dining area is nice and cozy, and the bar itself is one of the more tasteful in the mid Hudson valley. For lunch I recommend half a chicken with the fried rice and salad. The complimentary bread is always warm and delicious.

Im only giving it one star because thats the lowest rating available. I walked in a little after 2:00 pm, and the place was not busy. I placed an order to go. I sat at the bar and I waited nearly an hour and still no food. After about 40 minutes into the wait, the waitress reluctantly asks me if I wanted something to drink. Excuse me, arent you suppose to ask that as soon as I sit down?! I decided I had enough and left; still no food. Therefore, I dont know how the food tastes, but the service is AWFUL!!

My family and I lived in Peru for 6 years. We returned to the U.S. about 3 years ago and we missed the Peruvian food. Yesterday we ate at Machu Picchu and truly enjoyed the food. It was, in our opinion, authentic Peruvian cuisine. I would recommend Machu Picchu to anyone, anytime. I didnt give the review 5 stars because the service was slightly slow (at one time we were the only customers in the restaurant), and the owner was rather surly, but perhaps he was having a bad day. We will return though, no doubt.

Ive eaten hear several times and the food is fantastic. The meat dishes are great, Im impressed by the quality of the meat. I always steer towards the authentic lamb dish, but I have tried bites of many other various meals. The prices are great, the owner is always there and very friendly. Newburgh definitely needs more good restaurants of all variaties. When you dont want the same old... try Machu Picchu. I was there last night and our waiter was awesome . I appreciate the good service, too!

i ordered a pina colada and it was horrible. the staffs chatted to much and had to wait to long before they got to our table. its not a cheap restaurant .there mixed alcholic beverages arent well prepared cheap with the alchol.very sweet. The staffs english is not very well so they cant barely take my order or explain to me the dish i wanted. this one waitress had an attitude like if she didnt want to do her job. ugh never Again.

The food is over priced and not very good. They dont cook the chicken over fire. Its not the Peruvian Pollo a la Brasa you love. Also the typical Peruvian sauces here are awful. They dont have black beans!!! And they dont have pinto beans! They bring some kind of cheese sauce to the table also, its pretty bad as well. I dont recommend it. The waiter was really nice, so 2 stars. But really they dont even deserve that many.

Youre not likely to wander off and find yourself in Newburgh, NY but if you do, have a meal at Machu Picchu, a fine Peruvian Restaurant. Everyone dining there was appropriately Peruvian and said the food reminded them of home. Beautifully flavored rotisserie chicken, cilantro scented rice...and my Mondongo was great. Nice experience.

Im visiting from out of town to see DIA Beacon and happened upon Machu Picchu. It turns out this restaurant has been family owned and operated for 22 years. The owner makes a mean Mohito! The food is extraordinary, home made style wonderful presentation. If you are looking for adventure in eating, this is the place.

We had Machu Picchu cater our Baby Shower of 60 guests. The food was absolutely delicious. All of the guests raved about how good it was and what great flavors were there. Todd was great to work with to settle on the menu, give us a good price, and deliver the food on time.

I have been to many peruvian resturants and peru and none compare to this establishment. The papas alahuncaina (spelling?) and civche are INCREDIBLE. I often come here with friends even though it is not near where I live and i am NEVER dissapointed. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.

This is a good place. The thing you must order is the rotisserie chicken dinner. Its a really good deal and very good. Service is typically good and the prices are decent. Even if you dont like peruvian food or know what it is, give it a try.

Order the anticuchos and the cevieche. Not a cheap restaurant, but an outstanding value for the quality of the food. The extensive remodel is beautiful. I was so energized after the beef hearts. Truly amazing food, has that homecooked taste.

Food is ok at best but its overpriced, the decor feels dated and weird. It feels like the restaurant doesnt know if it wants to be 5 star gourmet or family casual. Theres better, cheaper food in the nearby area.

I was shocked to find such an interesting and delicious restaurant in the burgh. To echo others the ceviche pescado is awesome. I love yucca too. Lots of options on the menu. Wish they had cuy.

Sister lives nearby. Took me to the restaurant twice. Both times excellent. Very authentic is the way to put it. I had two versions of chicken special which was cooked perfectly.
