My first time here and I honestly dont know what to make of this place. I ordered lemon chicken for take out. I understand that everyone has their own variations of what lemon chicken should be. At first I thought for $19 this better be some damn good lemon chicken. When o opened the container it looked like a huge portion so I thought visually it was worth it. 2 pieces of chicken and a heaping mountain of artichoke petals, potato wedges, mushed tomatoes and spinach later I still found myself asking "wheres the lemon?" Granted the dish had acidity but it tasted more like tomato than lemon. I really thought this place was farm to table but its more like over priced comfort food with fancy descriptions to drag you away from the fact that its glorified diner food. Any naive untrained eye would walk in and be blown away by their beautiful selection of displayed desserts at the counter except for the fact that they are just mass produced desserts provided by a company called Bindi that sells knock off gourmet desserts to restaurants to pass off as home made. What a turn off. At least out source from a local home made place. A move like that makes me question the entire menu and its authenticity. In a town like Westwood with a bunch of great choices to eat and places with big reputations, I wonder where exactly this place fits in. Kimchi Smoke, Grange, Kitchen, Johnnys Italian Market, Sogno Café, Cafe Anello and Conrads Candy Shop just to name a few of outstanding places within a 3 block radius of this place that produce quality menu items that will be remembered and talked about constantly. As for lemon chicken, I will always remember a confusing mush hiding two pieces of chicken for $19.

I have to say I have never been so rudely spoken to by an owner and this is not the 1st time. 1st time, I tried to pay for my dinner with a gift card that my daughter gave me for Christmas. They told me it had 0 balance. Then later, when I went back, someone said they did have problems around Christmas w the gift card machine and that it had happened before. They were so rude like I was trying to steal a meal. Then, today we had a 1:00pm reservation for Mothers Day brunch (our name was written on the list - Walker5 1:00pm). The manager went around in circles telling us it didnt really mean a reservation and that he didnt have a table and oh well there was nothing he could do. He also "shoed" me away, basically an F U. Also, the party behind us was dealing w the same issue. My daughter lives in Westwood and loves jacks cafe so we went there, where they were also reservation only, but moved a bunch of stuff around to fit us in. Dont let the exterior fool you-- the nicest people and staff and best food! They are so sweet and helpful. I used to be a regular at farmhouse but will never be back again. And quite frankly, I always thought the food was good- but nothing compared to Jacks cafe.

the good: Nice atmosphere/decor, clean and friendly staff. the bad: Grossly overpriced, small portions, food is nothing extraordinary. I am a Westwood resident and have been to Hanami 5 times and will never go back. My husband ordered the sushi deluxe dinner and ended up stopping by Tony Ds for a slice of pizza afterward...we spent $48 on dinner! They cant use brown rice on individual sushi pieces, only on the rolls!? All the other sushi places I go to will do this. They charge $2.50 for 1 piece of sushi! For the money you spend they cant even give you fresh fruit at the end of the meal...canned fruit cocktail! If you are looking for quality, affordability, and a nice atmosphere then go just a short drive to Matsu in Hillsdale. Weve been going there regularly for 4 years now and we have NEVER been disappointed!

This place is great for those that love sushi but your significant other does not (my case in point). The sushi is great and reasonably priced for the area. The Chinese food is very good also. We love the sesame chicken and its not mostly breading like a Chinese take out place. The entrees are a little pricy so its not a normal place we would eat just for some Chinese take out but if we want to go to a little nicer sit down dinner its perfect. The BYOB is nice too, grab a bottle of wine for the store next door on the way in. Spring rolls were also really good! Recently went on a fri or sat night, and i guess because of the small town this was like a date night restaurant so we felt a little under dressed coming in with just jeans and a tee on, just something i would let others know.

Came on a Friday night. The service was noticably overwhelmed by the surge of patrons. The restaurant is styled awesome. Really great ambience and its BYOB. Overall the food was good for everyone, but myself. Aside from the fact that everyones fries were cold. I ordered the turkey burger with salad. Salad and balsamic dressing were great. The turkey burger was unfortunately the worst Ive ever had. The consistency of the patty was awfully mushy and lacked flavor. It was squeezing out the sides of the buns as if it were uncooked. Really off putting. Also, everyone agreed that they should not be taking reservations. This is a terrible idea for this style restaurant. There were quite a few empty tables with loads of people waiting outside to get in.

AWFUL customer service. We have eaten at the restaurant and ordered take-out at least multiple times. Shame on us for not learning our lesson! EVERY SINGLE TIME we dined at the restaurant, even with reservations, we waited over 30 minutes for a table, waiters made mistakes with our order and were unapologetic. EVERY SINGLE TIME we ordered take-out, we were given the wrong food. Tonight, when we called to complain about receiving 3 wrong orders, the host insisted we bring back the mistaken order, and when we questioned her, the owner got on the phone, demanded we return "the merchandise" and hung up on my spouse. Rude, rude, rude. We are done with this place. LESSON LEARNED.

Have been going here awhile, and tonight the blonde male hostess decides to sit me and a guest outside...politely ask we want a table inside...clearly annoyed him...but the yable was so close to another couple it was ridiculous...didnt the guy think? So he brought us inside and out is next to another coupke who you think we were having dinner with. Got up and kindly said we changed our mind...this is where he was an as☆☆☆☆☆ and says " oh ok come.back anytime" instead of " is thier a problem? Will NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. What a d***.

Disclaimer: Im a very harsh critic in regards to sushi. Pros: Spacious, nice atmosphere, love that bring you a little edamme when you sit down and some fruit when you pay your check, absolutely obsessed with their fried rice (not too greasy and very tasty), I like that there menu is very versatile. Cons: Sushi isnt amazing, some rolls are better than others but all seemed fresh all in all. Will be back again to give it another try

Ive eaten at Hanami many times. The sushi is pretty good. I would recommend it for dining in and for specialty rolls. And it BYOB so its nice. However, delivery take a long time. Up to an hour after ordering. And stay away from the Pad Thai. It was nothing close to what Pad Thai should taste like. Not sure why they have it on the menu.
