To just start.. If you dont go your a idiot.. We started with chicken curry puff, spring rolls and the special scallops in a white wine sauce. The puffs were wonderful. The pasty puff was light and the filling was well balanced the side of cucumber salad was sweet and paired perfect with the curry. The special scallops were delish not dry. Just the right amount and was very well presented in a shell. Lovely. The spring rolls again had a lighter flaky crust and the side sauce was sweet but not too sweet which would have overpowered the taste of the roll. Our dinner consisted of the filet mignon massaman, duck tamarind (which I asked for as its not on the menu )and the Maine lobster tails with bay scallops. First the filet cooked perfect as we asked for medium rare..the massaman was light. If you are a person affaird it wil be spicy. No way. It was very well balanced not spicy. It was garnished with cherries pineapple and a black sticky rice. It was delish..Second was the duck OMG OMG OMG . I love duck. I asked them to make it for us with Tammarid sauce. I love that sauce. The duck was tendor and the sauce was yummy perfect. Loved it!! The third was the special. I would have liked a thicker piece of sea bass as it can be dry if not. With that said it was very good and the lobster was not dry and very tasty. We finished with a special from the chef a white chocolate leeche mouse and Thai tea and coffee. Overall a wonderful experience. Service was attentive and yet not intrusive. Its a must to go to..dont be afraid because it Thai be more concerned that you will be missing a wonderful food experience. We will be back and cant wait to try the frog legs and all the other wonderful items on the menu..see you soon!!

I write this review hoping the management will be more careful in their food handling in the kitchen. I had dinner at Thai West last night and got food poisoning for the 1st time in 25 years. I felt sick about an hour later, it is now the following day and still experiencing bad stomach cramps, nausea and pain. The food was so mediocre and tasteless, that as we ate we swore wed never come back ever. Little did I know both my date and I would both be sickened into today. We ordered beef satay which was cold and tasteless. We ordered Calamari salad which was very chewy and overcooked with a very strange flavor which did not belong. We also ordered the waiters recommendation which was Duck served with too many tasteless stewed potatoes, carrots and plantain in brown sauce. Ordered vegetable Pad Thai also tasteless. I was under the impression everything was just reheated and leftover from the day before. Nothing had a fresh scent of just cooked food. They fooled me once and we are suffering the consequences, they will not fool us again. Thai West, I must say shame on you, if you are going to serve your authentic thai, then do a better job and give customers a reason to return, instead of losing them for good.

Tried this place because our default thai restaurant in Emerson had no tables available, and boy were we glad we did! Beautiful atmosphere and wonderful service (unlike default thai place), delicious food with actual vegetables in it (unlike so many other thai restaurants that skimp on veggies in their curries). I might add that the veggies were cut artfully, clearly by a thoughtful chef. We had the Penang curry with shrimp, pad see ew, and chocolate souffle. So good. We will be back! Thank you for a wonderful evening, Thai West!

In search of a yummy bite for lunch, I ended up at the Thai West Restaurant in Westood. I left a dissatisfied customer. We ordered soup the, the soup du jour, and the Tom yum koong both of which were served way too hot and were so salt, that felt like I had swallowed several mouthfuls of sea water. Our salads, which was shredded papaya with dried shrimp and roasted peanuts was tossed in a dressing that was just as briny. Needless to say I feel bloated and thirsty and my head hurts.

Came to have lunch. Asked for the side of steemed vegetables, reiterating the importance of not adding any oil or sauce. Surely as I started to eat it, it felt like all the veggies were coated with oil. So I asked again and was told that if I really want no oil they could redo it...... Unbelievable!

I really love the food here. I have eaten here several times with my boyfriend and we always love it. Ive had appetizers, noodle dishes (very reasonable in price) and entrees. Have been happy with all of my food. Service was good too. They dont serve liquor so bring your own if you want it.

SO delicious!!!! Only place within miles thats open for late lunch and it has INCREDIBLE lunch specials. Simple, light, healthy, but flavorful options with French Fusion mixed in. Special thanks to the owner Ten and our servor Kyrie for the BEST SERVICE EVER. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Im an avid fan of Thai food and have been to many different Thai restaurants in NJ. The food was good but wasnt what I was expecting at all. I saw vegetables that Ive never seen in a Thai dish. On top of that the spice of their food is pretty hardcore.

The food is delicious, however, its definitely more fusion than traditional Thai. It will take a while for the food to be made, so just relax and enjoy the ambiance. It has rather classy decor and the wait service is top notch.

Lovely place but very noisy, smoky (bad ventilation) and hot (AC was inadequate). Food was good but overpriced and over spiced. Many better choices in the area for much less money. Will not go back and would not reccomend.

Very fine Thai dishes. Green Curry with Duck was especially good. They default to fairly mild spice (1 out of 5), but will increase the spice on request. 2 is noticeable, 3 and 4 are truly hot.
