This is a magical gem that is literally off the beaten path. One walks or bikes along the Rail Trail from Rosendale heading towards New Paltz and about a mile down the trail you come across a forest grove with a clearing and tree stump tables and chairs, a gypsy caravan where Tara serves up fresh organic dishes from their neighboring farm and Brian fires up the outdoor pizza oven and makes pizzas including gluten free crusts. Tara also curates the amazingly eclectic "music in the woods" series that features gamelan to blues and so many genres that your meal may even treat you to an amazing style of music youve never heard. before! BTW: While hiking/biking is the fun way to get there you are also able to drive right up and sneak in the back (google Stone Mountain Farm) if you arent as mobile.

Secluded little place under tall trees by the Rail Trail. They serve healthy food, pizza baked in a wood-fires oven and you can sit under a huge canvas canopy at bistro tables to enjoy you meal or snack. They rent bikes and appear to have a couple of canoes for rent, too. Theyre planning live entertainment at least on Friday nights. Nice crowd last Friday. Places for the kids to stretch and explore but parents must watch carefully because the place is more woodsy-wild than most cafes.
