Very poor management skills. Asked if tuna could be cooked rare & "blackened"? Waitress went back to kitchen and asked (cook?) and was told yes. Tuna came out without being blackened when waitress brought same back to kitchen they sent out a small cup of spices to sprinkle on tuna slices. When told this was not what we ordered the waitress asked if we would like something else. another item on menu was chosen. Waitress then came back to our table and stated we could have another meal but would have to pay for the tuna as well. Can you imagine the gall of this supposed "cook" to want to charge for food he or she does not even know how to cook! Real smart way to handle a problem . I will tell every one I meet of our experience . My suggestion to management find another cook or find another business. Their not very good at this one.

The food was mediocre; service was excellent. As of July 2017, there is no beer/wine licence and, due to local law, patrons can no longer bring their own. Most of the dishes that we (a party of 8) were served seemed to be what youd expect of a diner rather than a high-end restaurant - tasty, but nothing that you couldnt make just as well at home. The coconut fried shrimp, ale battered shrimp and crab cakes all tasted like the prepared frozen ones youd get from a supermarket. Contrary to the menu description, the crab cake seemed to be made entirely of claw meat - the cheapest grade of crab - rather than the lump crab that was promised. The béarnaise sauce looked and tasted like it was from a can and had an unnatural day-glow orange color that could not have come from butter and egg yolks.

The good: Nice warm welcome from an attentive host staff. Excellent She crab soup! Wonderful fresh bread! Perfectly cooked tenderloin steak with benaise sauce. Delicious fresh green bean & broccoli medley. Kids menu with a simple PBJ which my boys loved! The bad: Table service is a bit slow. The Basil Tomato soup tasted like stewed tomatoes. Chicken Parmesan was huge and presented well, but was so bland we sent it back. Garlic mashed potatoes were too strong even for me, a garlic lover.

Worst meal we ever had. All the seafood was boxed and then deep fried so it came out dry and hard. I love good seafood and that was not it. On top of everything all the food that came out from the kitchen cold or barely heated. My husbands steak was rare and undercooked. He wanted medium. In my life I have never thrown out seafood but that is right where it went. The garbage. They need to call chef Ramsey to help them. I bet he would have the same opinion.

The Red Lobster of the Adirondacks. The food is edible, no doubt about it, and its acceptable in a caloric-needs sort of way. But its not reservations-worthy food (and 90% of the time, you need a reservation to get a table). The bread is commerical-quality, the food comes out in large portions and hot, no alcohol sold (though they are working on their permit). Its diner-quality food, but service is good and the people friendly.

We have been here three times this summer. Its our place to go for special occasions (only because it is 45 minutes away) ; otherwise we would go more often. The food is excellent, the prices reasonable and the service good. Bringing our own wine or beer sis a bonus. The tuna sushi appetizer is a favorite as is the crab cakes. Portions are big enough to share.

A wonderful hidden secret in the Adirondacks. I went there with my wife for an anniversary dinner and the food was fabulous. The service was also excellent. Reservations are highly suggested and the place fills up quickly as all of us locals know how amazing this place is! Just bring your own wine or beer since they do not have a bar.

The food is outstanding and the staff is friendly and professional. They are very busy on the weekends during the Summer months but have moved to a much larger location and are now taking reservations! They still dont serve alcoholic beverages on-site, but you are allowed and encouraged to bring your own if youd like!

The building is cramped, and not very well maintained. The food is unusual, and I found mine to have a sour taste. Since its illegal to bring your own alcohol in New York State, I would be concerned with liquor authority problems. I wont be back

Amazing food! Exceeded all of my expectations. Food was comparable to high end steak houses! I would recommend this place to everyone! I wish I lived closer to enjoy it more often!

Horrible service...second time this year. Food mediocre. Had to get my own water and napkins, and chase down staff for ketchup. Going into Lake Placid next time.
