ding ding ding!!! Weve got a winner folks!!!! Hands down, the most disgusting diner on the Island, Ive gotten better meals from Exxon.. I knew I was in trouble when our classy waiter sporting his 80s pony tail decided to seat us between, Honey Boo Boo and a 600 lb woman with oxygen tanks.. God save me, but seeing her eat Cole slaw with those man hands was like watching a bull dog eat creamed Herron .. The only thing more entertaining was the pacing junkie out front asking everyone for money to buy a train ticket.. If he had a shirt on and didnt smell like Old English, I would have thrown him a $5.. After being ignored for 20 minutes, our waiter finally came over to take our drink order, his heavy " Yo no Habla english" accent just added to my stellar experience here at Metropolis.. My son ordered a burger, I played it safe with a Gyro... While waiting for our food I couldnt help but notice how vibrant the stained carpet looked through the musty smelling mildewed window shades... After throwing up in my mouth and swallowing again our meals finally arrived.. I would have taken a photo, but nervous my phone would have gotten jacked by one of the patrons.... What??? My sons burger should have come with gauze pads and stitches, Ive never seen a burger cooked like that, if in fact it was beef it could have been a health violation... His fries were a microwaved delight and tasted like a bumper wrapped in newspaper..My Gyro was placed neatly between warm brown lettuce, a dirty tomato on a stale Pita and looked like it was sitting on a coffee truck for a week.. Yum! At that moment I was hoping the junkie outside would have tried robbing this place so I could have snuck out an went to the car wash across the street for a better dinner.. Knowing they have a shot spotter close by, my optimism started to fade... My boy and I toughed it out, bitched like hell in Spanish and left " YO NO TIPO!! I hope the owner is reading this and makes changes to improve...

30 Dec 2014 - $45 for a dried chicken sandwich with stale fries for our 7 year-old son (Who took only one bite), an alleged Monte Cristo (not prepared properly nor served correctly) also with stale fries (for myself; I could barely finish half), a dry, tasteless mac & cheese (for our 5 year-old daughter - only 2 spoonfuls consumed) and a half-way decent turkey burger for the wife (with cold veggies and an oily rice side dish that was unpalatable). DONT WASTE YOUR TIME...OR MONEY. Weve eaten there before and were pleased; never again! Server was more concerned re: her ultrasound that day and never asked if the food was ok when we were having her take it away virtually uneaten...nor did she offer to substitute or refund anything. Became "scarce" and we had to track her down for the check... CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

Dont go here. Whoever the chef is, doesnt cook things the way theyre supposed to be cooked. I had chicken marsala & the flavor wasnt what marsala should be. I told the waitress & she replied, "the chef cooks w/ his own style. I think he cooks w/ a spanish influence. I got green beans with tomato sauce in it. Great selection, bad chef. Even the home fries were bad. How do you mess that up? He did.

Best customer service on the island! They all treat my family and 101 yr old aunt with such care! The staff is part of our family ♥♥♥♥ wonderful huge menu selection, I recommend the lentil soup with lemon, the patty melt with 1000 island on the side, and a piece of chocolate cake! Take home a Linzer tart for later :) the metropolis cocktail is perfect! !!

Stopped in for breakfast while getting my car fixed down the street. 1st time here, food was very good although just breakfast so far, and the wait staff was very pleasant, and the prices were reasonable. Looking forward to lunch and dinner. I also noticed that what other people that ordered around me looked nicely prepared and tasteful.

I absolutely love this diner! The staff is friendly, the food has great portions and the prices are reasonable and affordable! I absolutely love their breakfast and appetizers. Belgian waffles and french toast are amazing too! 5/5 I will never stop recommending this diner!! You guys have always given me a good experience :)

food was okay, but my waitress was straight up rude and un sanitary. I asked for a water with lemon and she dropped the lemon on the counter and continue to pick it up and put it in my drink. I said something to her and she gave me an attitude. I wouldnt go back not worth my time.

For the love of God, keep clear. one star for service and one star because Ive heard they make a good big texan. Other than that, Ive eaten here twice and the food was sub-par; Pancake breakfast was no good, tuna wrap was soggy, and the chocolate cake was dry. Why the cake!?

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger the bacon was raw almost undercooked not crispy. The burger was greasy and the service waitress was not that nice either had a attitude when i asked het to take off the bacon. I dont like the food here either . Sorry but thats my opnion

I have been going to the Metropolis dinner since they opened. The owners are the best. Mike and Andy are always on hand to make sure everyone is having a great meal. The Food is great and the atmosphere is always pleasant. All I can say is try it you will like it.

Food is usually great here, however today the bacon was a little over and underdone. Waiter messed up on the toast. (Not really a big deal) this is the first time i didnt receive great food. The place was extra extra busy, staff always professional and nice.

The Metropolis Diner on 112 is consistently one of the very best diners in the area ... in an area full of good diners. Everything is always fresh, great burgers, and their breakfasts are top notch. This is everything you look for in a diner.

This place used to be good, unfortunately thats not the case anymore. Theres no value for the customer and they certainly dont know how to treat their guests. Too many other options out there dont waste your time or money.

Excellent service and food! My family massive group of nine dined there on a Saturday for brunch. I had a Greek omelet. Delicioso! I suggest this place to anyone! Very kid friendly and family atmosphere.

We go there often. Food is pretty good. No complaints. But the waitresses have major attitudes. They need to be taught how to smile. Thats why the 3 star rating.
