I have never written a review before, but this place has had many so completely disrespected Im not sure what else to do. Let me just give you a time line of my evening at the restaurant and the events that followed. Showed up at Salsa Shack at about 6:30pm and let them know we would have an extremely large party of around 20 people and we did not mind waiting. Gave my cellphone number and was told it would be around an hour and a half. 7:00 - Confirm with the Salsa Shack that our large party does not need to be seated together. (we proceed to pay mini golf and talk for a while) 8:30- Ask the hostess where we are in our reservations she says its still going to be an extremely long time, I notice more then enough empty tables to fill our group. 9:15- They seat our party outdoors and explain to us that we can only order appetizers and drinks and will not be allowed to have a main course. When someone politely asks if they can go inside and order an entree from the bar they are cut off and yelled at about it not being the policy. 9:30- A lovely old couple next to us gives us their left over salsa and chips after seeing how we are treated they feel extremely badly. At this point we would leave but we are literally all starving that any food seems like a better option then driving to another restaurant and waiting. 9:45- The waitress takes 3 orders out of our party of 20 and insists on holding everyones credit card. 9:50- The host tells me they stop seating people indoors at 10 PM, so that we will not be able to get entrees of have a table. (After waiting 3 hours) 10:00- A few members end up going inside and ordering their food and drinks directly from the bartender to go, the waitress has still not come back. The one positive of this place is the bar staff is extremely nice. After all of this the waitress never took the orders of the rest of our party and we ended up busing our own tables, the 3 people who ordered with the waitress received their food over an hour after those who ordered from the bar. The next day when I called management all they told me they had, "Spoke with the waitress but normally their clientele is older so he understands where she was coming from." I am 25 and was by far the youngest in a group of mid 30 to late 20 year olds. This was supposed to be the dinner for my brothers birthday party and the entire night we were disrespected to the point where they actually yelled at my 27 year old brother on his birthday when he tried to go order a drink from the bar. I have never had a more disgusting dining experience in my entire life. Do not go here. Sidenote: I notice half the positive reviews come from the restaurants wait staff so be weary. The food is edible if you havent eaten in over hours.

With an amazing view of the bay and inlets, the location is perfect for dining outside. The location is the only reason worth visiting this restaurant. To start, service was extremely slow and we were told they were out of chicken fingers for the kids as well as chicken fajitas. They had other chicken entrees so I dont understand why they couldnt make chicken fajitas. Also, on a trip the the bathroom, I saw several plates of chicken fingers being prepared long after we had already ordered. The frozen strawberry margarita had no flavor, which I forced myself to drink to get my moneys worth. For dinner, I ordered the chicken quesadillas which were watery and had very little chicken inside. The trio fajitas (chicken, steak, shrimp) were at least average and came out hot. If youre looking for a place to eat on the water while not expecting fine dining, this may be the place for you; otherwise, find a better Mexican restaurant!

So unhappy to have to write this review... this place can really be an awesome summer location, however, management, if there is any? really underestimates the staff needed to properly serve its paying customers. Mem Day Wknd, not a very busy wknd due to weather, YET, I waited 45 minutes at my table waiting for my drinks (1 pina colada, 1 sangria and 2 cokes) 45 MINUTES, after repeatedly asking my waitress, I FINALLY went to the bar and asked wht the problem was?? then I got 2 pina coladas and 2 sangrias? REALLY, then I got the wrong bill - I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AGAIN. The owner also owns the seafood shack and now building a burger place on beach, There is no escaping the conglomerate this owner and mgt. will have at tobay beach.... I guess Iam packing my lunch n drinks this summer..

It was a beautiful hot day today so we decided to try the place and I will say the food and drink was good, BUT my husband and I were very disappointed that our waitress, Jodi is the name on the receipt, never came to ask us how are food was or if we needed anything else. (it would have been nice to have more than one napkin and have been offered another drink since it was so hot out and we finished our beverages halfway through the meal) In fact aside from giving us our initial drink, and taking our food order, we never saw her again until I put my credit card under my empty glass. The biting gnats left a mark as well. We wont be going back.

The location is great. This review touches on both venues, the seafood shack and Salsa Shack. The Seafood Shacks food is hit or miss but the service was good. The Salsa Shack is a different story. The absolute worst service I have ever experienced. I thought to myself that maybe it was just a bad day for the staff but it was just as bad on my two subsequent visits. Sitting at a half empty bar and ut took 30 minutes to get two drinks and when I waited and waited for the second round I gave up and asked for my check. After 45 minutes of "Excuse me, excuse me" I was a little louder ans me colorfull in asking for my check. Horrible.

DO NOT EAT HERE! Its such a shame because its a beautiful venue and I used to come here all the time. I ordered the chicken and it was delicious but about a short time later it hit me hard. I was very sick from salmonella poisoning (severe upset stomach, sweating, shaking) & tried to advise my friend not to pay the bill. It was too late (I was in bathroom too long). When we spoke to the manager, he said there was nothing he could do. He refused to remove the charge or offer anything else. Its too bad that such a nice place made me so sick & they wouldnt even remove the dish that made me sick.

My visit was Tuesday, August 19th. Dinner was not very flavorful, however the service was fine. Drinks were weak and we felt the menu was overpriced. My largest complaint was that a day after eating at the restaurant my credit card was being used in Mexico. Now, I dont consider myself a prejudice person considering I am of spanish heritage. However, a call to the restaurant manager proved fruitless and I was left feeling ignored. My advise to anyone at first was to pay cash if you go, however its still not worth it.
