Avoid, if possible. A thunder storm was rolling in, so my friends and I decided to take our boat and dock at Ole Savannah for some drinks and to wait out the rain. Coming in from the dock side entrance, there were signs saying "please wait here to be seated".... And.... Nothing. We went to the outside bar only to be told that the outside bar was not open on Sundays. God forbid the server that informed us of this, and seemed borderline annoyed that we didnt know that already, gave us a table just next to the bar on the empty patio. Nope, back on our feet. We made the full round robin and found our way to the main entrance of the establishment to finally get a table... back out on the patio. To wrap this story up quickly, since it seems to be pretty repetitive, service was absolutely terrible. Drinks took forever to get. They were just short of rude when they found out that the table was content with apps. Oh, and no frozen drinks. Next time, ill take a chance to outrun the storm and dock in Poughkeepsie. And please keep in mind that the tab did come out to $80, so I feel our business was more than worth while.

The food was very good. However, the service was terrible. My daughter had to ask the waitress three times for her drink. The waitress could not remember what the specials were. We waited for 45 minutes for food. When it finally came it was with a kitchen staff member and no waitress. There were three in our party but only the food for two came out. We had to wait another five minutes to eat. We had to ask for take home boxes twice. We were never offered dessert or coffee. We had to ask for our check more than once and then ( and only then!) the waitress stopped by three times to get the money. The poorly trained wait staff really takes away from the great food and waterfront atmosphere.

we love this place. Not the best ribs in the area (that award goes to Cue in Saugerties) BUT Old Savannah is solid (definitely top 4). But the place is number one in terms of experience- with an amazing space that is very special in itself, PLUS it is on the water. Lovely place to stroll around before or after dinner. Also, the other stuff on the menu is also yummy. I love the black kale salad and the fried green tomatoes. Everything is solid here. It might be our favorite family restaurant. Beer menu will not satisfy the beer snob but they usually have at least one good rotating draft..

We had a great late Friday lunch for 9 on the porch which included catfish, burgers and a wild thunderstorm which drove us back but not inside! The kids loved the ducks on the Rondout after the rain and the friendly staff helped us move the table a third time when the rain returned! A memorable occasion! On Sunday we returned with a group of 14 and ate a great dinner! Best restaurant in the Rondout district! Will definitely go back! Loved the old boat building establishment from late 19th Century turned into a great eatery. If youre on a budget, definitely go there for lunch!

There were all of two tables of people in there for lunch when we got there and the service was horrid! You would think with no one in there service would be up to par. Took 15 mins to get our drinks, over a half hour to get our food which also was not very good. Pulled Pork was very dry and very little flavor and lacked sauce. The Cole slaw was just garbage French fries were soggy and cold. I enjoyed my salad and that was it. Lots of employees walking around but apparently dont care enough to stop at your table. Prices were also decently high for lunch and not so good food.

Service was ok. But the food was inconsistent. Loved the Poke Tuna. It was delicious. I was really disappointed in the BBQ. Sort of one note. Not much flavor. I ordered the beef brisket and ribs combo. It came out room temp. Beans were ok but not warm. The mac and cheese was blah, not much flavor. They should trim down on the menu and do those items wonderfully. Also, they need to pay attention more to quality not quantity. Portions were very generous but I rather have smaller portions but better quality food. Space is beautiful. Wish the food was better.

Try this place! The atmosphere is great, an old brick boat house with two floors and lots of ambiance. The food is fresh with a lot of flavor. The Oyster Po Boy sliders (pictured) were crunchy, fresh, and just the right amount of spicy. Even kids meals are freshly made (the Mac & Cheese is made fresh with cheddar). Only disappointment was the beer on tap could be a bit colder, but the rest of the food and experiences easily made up for the small detail. Great for groups. Great for families.

The food is good. The service is not. When I did see my waitress, I had to ask her a few times for a soda and to get boxes for my food. When our check came, we were looking at the amount of the check, for less than a minute. Our waitress can over to ask if something was wrong with the check. She then came over a second time while we were packaging things up and talking. We got our wallets out and hadnt paid yet and she asked if we were all set again. I felt rather rushed.

Ate here a few times and unfortunately they have difficulty with timing, service is too slow. Food quality has been inconsistent, and have on one occasion received rotted lettuce on the plate. Prices seem a little high. (a no thrills burger, cob salad, and a brisket spring roll appetizer (2 rolls) with no drinks was over 50 dollars. Cool space, but then again most turn of the century Industrial watehouses are. Really wanted to love this place...

Last year I hosted a party here gor 80 people, food was great. Last night I had dinner and the experience was not on par. Service was extremely slow for a wednesday night. I got the rib combo with brisket, extremely dry. The mac and cheese was not browned and the garlic in the dish was not cooked. $60 bucks for 2 people acceptable for dry food. I tipped a new trainee waitress who was very good, $20 it was not her fault. Food needs to improve.

Loved the atmosphere and patio seating. Waitress was nice, but service was excruciatingly slow. Took 15 min to order and get drinks. Then another hour to get food. Pulled pork sliders were a bit dry and under seasoned, ribs were dry, baked beans were cold and beer was room temperature. Cant in good conscious recommend it. Has the potential to be a good place perhaps needs better management. Hope it improves.

TERRIBLE SERVICE! Terrible! We had to find our waitress if we needed anything. She never checked on us. Not once! We wouldnt see her for 20 minutes. No exaggeration. Like I said, we had to find her. Never asked if we wanted refills. Had to ask for basic things like silverware. Would love to try the food again but probably wont go back because of how terrible the service was.

Heard long-time restauranteur, Dave Amato, was taking the lead. Also saw much better reviews and friends of ours highly recommended brunch. The food was very good. Im a protein guy so had the pulled pork, brisket, and fried chicken. All good! They also had house-smoked salmon. Excellent. Caitlin provided superior service...a real pro. And lets not forget the view!
