As the saying goes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that holds true when youre at Cafe Madison. Cafe Madison would be that place to get your day started. Come in and order a cup-of-joe, then find yourself a table, and scan through their menu for a list of breakfast delights. There are so many options just for breakfast alone, but I would say go directly for their omelette dish. I ordered the seafood florentine omelette and it was oh-so-good! Eggs were fluffy and the inner ingredients were cooked perfectly, with decent-sized shrimps and chunks of crab meats (imitation unfortunately), served with a side of home fries and a toast. That, my friend, is a perfect and satisfying breakfast! Oh, and did I mention unlimited coffee? Those cups-of-joes will sure get you caffinated for the whole day! The place not only serve amazing breakfast, but they also have lunch and dinner as well. You have a the option of dining in or outside, depending on how you feel, but outside would give you a better view of Madison Ave., especially at night. The service is superb, with each dish craft to your liking and prepared with quality. There is a theater just right nice door, so if you have a date, you know where to go for a good meal...Cafe Madison, then end the night with a film. Dont forget to ask about their wine selection to pair with your meal, they have an excellent variety with every meal that they serve.

I want to start with a warning that this is not a cheap breakfast place. Its at least 12$ a plate plus the cost of drinks. Any alcohol is also expensive, I personally had an 8$ mimosa. An amazing 8$ mimosa, but 8$ none the less. The food was both out of the ordinary and delicious. I had nachos Benedict while my friend had one of their weekend special omelets. We were both happy with our meals. I also tried some of the toasted soda bread which was pretty good. It has raisins which was a slight turn off for me, even so I still ate both pieces, showing how good the bread is overall. Check what their menu ahead of time on their website so that you know that they have something everyone is interested in. If you want a fancy out of the ordinary place to go to for breakfast and are willing to pay for the experience go here. Otherwise you might consider going someplace else.

Very unimpressive. Group of five, menu looked promising, servers were very friendly and attentive. The whole thing just looked so great; our expectations were pretty high at this point (we read the reviews), and then the food came. My father and I ordered specials, both awful. Caramelized onions do not snap when you bit into them, there should be no overpowering onion taste. I had some savory crepe special, VERY bland. It had an Asian spin on it, but it was underseasoned. Flash thawed, underseasoned vegetables wrapped into a crepe with bland chicken and they forgot the peanut sauce. There was some cucumber wasabi on top but it just did not do well as it was the only thing with any taste. Mouthfuls of bland mush with wasabi, very bad. On the bright side, pancakes and custom omelette were good, but I can make those at home.

Incredible. Im truly at a loss for words at the level of service, quality of food, and atmosphere that Cafe Madison has to offer. BMT group has gotten breakfast and brunch down to a perfect science. The price and value is unparalleled for brunch foods in Albany. From vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options to traditional and innovative options, the food selection will suit anyones palate. There is almost always a wait, especially on the weekends but dont be afraid it is worth it! You can get drinks, go next door to the pour house and they will come get you when your table is ready! In the summer, the outdoor eating is wonderful from early spring thanks to the heaters to late fall. Do yourselves a favor, when in Albany, eat here at least once!

We are now enjoying delicious coffee and a casual breakfast just 4 short walking minutes down Madison at Tierra Coffee Roasters instead! Our short experience at Cafe Madison was anything but good or friendly. First we were not allowed to have our small dog with us outside, unless we were to keep him on the other side of a chain used to separate the seating area from the rest of the sidewalk. Next we were greeted with visibly dirty coffee cups that were dirty inside and out. Tierra Roasters like other nice options in Albany welcomes their patrons four legged companions with a fresh water bowl, a friendly attitude, and smiles!

I used to come here for brunch on a fairly regular basis despite the wait and the mediocre coffee. The food and the service make it the best brunch in the area. Inside is small but its a comfy atmosphere and theres patio seating when the weather is nicer. The eggs burrito and the red raspberry oatmeal pancakes are solid go-to choices. Sometimes the specials can be a delicious and surprising change of pace like the peach cream stuffed french toast, but Ive also been disappointed by them more than once. Overall, a great spot for brunch with friends or family. Im out of the area now, but plan on visiting whenever Im back in town.

Wow. Best breakfast food in Albany. Cant believe Ive lived here for so long and only just found out about this place. I dont even like fruit in my pancakes but the raspberry oatmeal pancakes were out of this world. The chesapeake benni - a eggs benedict with a crab cake - was again, amazing. Decor is definitely awesome too. But honestly, I had to take a star off because their water was so bad I couldnt drink it. I never had that happen, lol. Id prefer pool water. Some staff were very friendly, while our waiter himself had a bit of an attitude for some reason. Doesnt matter, will be back for more amazing food.

My friend and I came here for brunch. We both ordered a regular cappuccino and it was atrocious, it was really bitter for a cappuccino. I had ordered the eggs benedict and it was tasty. I would of liked a little more hollandaise sauce and have the yoke a little less cooked but otherwise the flavors were there. My friend had the breakfast burrito with chorizo and no joke there was 4 little slices of chorizo in the whole burrito. It was $3 dollars extra for meat so I was surprised to see only 4 pieces of chorizo. The whole experience was mediocre. I wouldnt come here again for the price I paid for everything.

Imagine a brunch place where you go in mid-morning and there are many tables available. Youd probably be leery right? We had about a 1/2 hour wait for a table but it was well worth it. The prices are reasonable prices with good attentive service. Angela our waitress was very pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. I had the chocolate chip pancakes, my wife the raspberry oatmeal pancakes and my son had the sausage. They were all very good and made the wait worthwhile. Would definitely do it again.

Originally I gave this place an average rating. It has really grown on me after going back a couple times with friends. Ive become a big fan of their brunch. Everything tastes freshly made. Usually theres a pretty interesting special that I have to order just to try. My biggest complaint is that I want a little of everything. Wish they did a Dim Sum styled thing so I dont have to convince 3 or 4 people to join me.
