One of the more authentic tasting Indian cuisines are made here. Me and my wife have been to spice Palace for over 10 times in the past couple of months and this place has become our restaurant of choice. The food, though a bit spicy, is very authentic and close to how it is made in India. They can give some good cutlery (rather than the plastic ware which looks cheap frankly). The non-veg items like Shrimp Curry, Lamb, etc are delicious. The dosas and chutneys are above average (nothing spectacular there, but some places screw simple dosas too). Sometimes the billing is not accurate so you need to be careful on what you are charged for (mostly because of handwriting misunderstanding between your server and the biller ;) ). The TV mostly runs bollywood indian music and south indian music, which adds to the "indianness" of the ambiance. All in all good food, good atmosphere and great value for money.

On "Fathers Day" I entered Spice Palace without any recommendation and my mouth watered as soon as I walked in. It was hard to place an order in such state. After placing the order for what I needed for sure, I asked - "What exactly are you guys cooking?" the lady was shy but did say "Biryani" and I placed the order for the same. She then asked me to try their Special Chicken Biryani and I could not say otherwise. Now the real part, YES not only the aroma but also the softness of rice and balance of the spices had enhanced this dish beyond my expectation. I have tried many Biryani dishes in the Oak Tree Road Area - but this is "A CLASS"

Totally disappointing. Did pick up order, the quantity is less than half of what other similar takeaways provide. When we asked them why the quantity is so less, they said they have updated their menu..such...a vague reason..they cut down their quantity by 50% without informing customers... Tasty bites which is in the same complex is much better....I will never ever go to spice palace... At this rate they are going to see a tremendous decline in customers.....

Worst South-Indian Food in NJ I was hungry and stopped by for a quick Dosa, but first it took too long to get it and secondly I can say that it was worst Dosa I ever had, shame on our great south-Indian food. Only because it’s in neighborhood of an Indian store they will get new customers but I don’t think anyone will go again after such an experience. Big NO-NO.

This is the worst place for the biryani, I have experienced couple of times, they never served fresh biryani. Dry rice, chicken is preheated more than once and its just like rubber and hard to eat. They always serve preserved food not fresh. Never ever try there biryani, that would be last time you ever buy a biryani again.

The food tastes good here but i am always confused about the opening and closing of this restaurant. Later that day it was written 11am to 3pm, but when i went there. People were sitting inside and it was frekin closed. I knocked the door, someone came out and said it will open after 15 min. Dont know whats going on in here

In the begining I felt like VS but on my second trip with a South India person I learnt as long as you what to order the food is Great. #1 on the List is Kodi Vapudu (Spicy) and Prawn Fry. Thier Hydrebadi "DUM" biryani are great too.... They are getting there and I hope they keep it that way...

Last Saturday night had a bad experience; the chapati was un breakable; salty paneer butter ; and chicken in the biriyani was stale and deep fried/burned ; rating 2 because I did not fall sick ; I dont know what has happened to this place

I took cut mirchi and channa batura.. cut mirchi seems to be too old.. prepared few days back. You can see the pictures. Channa batura was decent . Also seems to be expensive for the service they provide. Not service though

Its good Indian food, and the owner is very polite. It is a little expensive but if the ingredients are fresh then it is understandable. If you want traditional Indian food with nice polite owner then come here.
