My first experience at this place taste wise was great, but service was absolutely terrible. I first asked for not too much rice in the beginning and by the time they finished making my bowl I thought wait theres not enough rice. So I asked the employee if I could get some more rice and a little bit more lamb and the guys answered me by saying... "This is not a buffet." I was so shocked by their answers. Both of them seemed like international Indian students or of some South Asian decent. I myself am also South Asian and was expecting a warm welcome but that didnt happen. The guy who was at the cash register was giving me a lot of attitude during the entire process and was being really rude in general. Whenever I asked the cashier what was in certain foods he told me very impolitely what it was. Whenever I go to a Chipotle style restaurant and ask for a little bit more of anything, employers are very nice and do not mind. But I was seriously shocked by their rude comments and the way they treated me and my friend. I want to go back for the food, but at the same time I dont think its worth it.

Update 8/27/17: Decided that this place is really worthy of 5 stars. The food is excellent...I have yet to be disappointed. The 2 guys that I always see making the burritos here are great. The prices are very fair and the portions are perfect. Great flavors. If there is just one thing that would make this even better, it would be if you could customize the spice level of your food (I like Indian food a bit spicier). With the Chipotle-like setup, its likely not possible. Regardless...if youre in town, I highly recommend Chapati House! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fantastic Chipotle-style Indian food! The Indian burritos are huge, affordable, and I think they are better than Chipotle burritos...but I guess it really depends on what flavors youre in the mood for. Either way, if you like Indian food, check this place out.

I did a pickup order for the Samoa Chaat, which consisted of "smashed samoa, boiled potato, onions, garbanzo beans, coriander-tamarind sauce, and whipped yogurt." First off, they failed to provide us any utensils or napkins whatsoever for the tkeout. As for the food itself, it was a confusing mix of sweet and spicy. I thought it was too sweet to the point it felt like I was eating a dessert. For takeout, they dont smash the samosas but instead just dump it in with everything in a little container. Thus, the samosas were soggy and unappetizing. I understand that this wasnt a main entree item, but nevertheless it did not taste good (even though it was considered a top item in Yelps eat24 ordering menu). I mixed this with my own rice and it helped. So for this place, Id recommend just getting one of their meat entrees, which comes with rice and chapati wrapped separately when you get it to go.

One of my favorite restaurants in New Brunswick. The service is always friendly and you can tell the owner and staff are passionate about their food. Ive been here a few times before, but was inspired to write something today because I ordered a rice bowl for the first time yesterday (I usually get a chapati roll). It comes with 2 entrees and toppings. Everything is also delicious. And its cheap. And its a butt ton of food, so much so that I had enough leftovers to save for lunch today. Its been a rough morning at work, its gray and freezing in north jersey, and Im coming down with something. But my rice bowl leftovers just MADE MY DAY. CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA. ALOO GHOBI BHAJI. BEETS. WHAT MORE CAN LIFE OFFER YOU? Sorry little emotional right now. Chapati is love. Chapati is life.

I probably eat here once or twice a week. The chapati rolls and samosas are really good and relatively inexpensive--good for my student budget, and I feel good about getting my daily serving of veggies in (you can add pickled beets, radishes, corn, tomatoes, lettuce, ginger, and these awesome crunchy things that arent veggies but are totally worth noting). I like the chicken masala best! The mango lassi is pretty good too. The real reason Im writing this review, though, is because once I left my bag under the table a little while before closing, and one of the guys behind the counter ran three blocks to catch up to me to return it. All in all, Ive found the folks at Chapati house to be a bunch of good dudes who make good food. Definitely worth a trip.

The food is robust with authethic flavours. Nothing is watered down.... The real deal. Except, they do serve it with a twist.... A chapati burrito? Very enjoyable I might add. Chicken tika masala..... I think the owner deliberately (i could be wrong?) didnt charge me for my samosas.... Which was a nice gesture and appreciated.....which by the way was succulently deep fried piping hot. Drool....

Typing this between spoonfuls of wonderful rice bowl with paneer, bharta, and dal. Whole family is here and they are liking it too. Like the concept, a simple twist on Indian food. Couple gripes; bit too spicy for my liking so having to cool it with yogurt. Too much rice and not enough vegetables to go along. Overall, glad that I found this place.

The food was DELICIOUS and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. One gentleman even took the time to answer all of my questions about the options. The atmosphere is cozy and nice for hanging out with friends over a good meal. Would recommend to all my friends and family. Also free lemonade :)

This place is amazing, what a smart idea, like Indian meets Chipotle with awesome service, the mango lassi was delicious. I wouldnt be surprised if the owner got calls from investors to make this a chain of restaurants. Best of luck to you, I know you will have great success!!!

I liked the ambience and Indian theming, the food is also so good, I had tasted Frankie it was very tasty with right amount of spice, tried their lemonade and it was good too. The manager is friendly and nice, the place was less crowded when I visited and made me feel relaxed.

One of the cashiers made my girlfriend feel uncomfortable. I was making an order, but the guy kept looking at her as though she was making the order but she was minding her own business. Should be keeping an eye on the customer, not at the person who isnt ordering.

Basically an Indian Chipotle. Start by choosing rice bowl or salad bowl, add protein, toppings and sauces and your good to go. (Be sure to ask for suggestions if your u sure, the staff is more then friendly and willing to recommend)

Tried this place for the first time recently and it was really good! Had a rice bowl with chicken makhni and a potato cauliflower dish and everything tasted really fresh and flavorful. That mango lassi was tasty too.

Fast good Indian food. Its good for what it is, not much distinction in chicken dishes but everything else very flavorful. Same ordering system as chipotle- I didnt understand that last review until we got there.

Rice bowl option is the best..It comes with two curries and a lot of toppings.. For a medium appetite person half of it would be sufficient..My friend and me always share it and it costed less than $9 together!!
