Never had Indian food at all before I tried this place with my family, and I have to say there lunch buffet is a wonderful way to introduce yourself if youre a bit shy. Nearly every dish we had to sample from the buffet (i.e. tandoori chicken, chicken tikka marsala, goat curry, etc.) was succulent and tender with just the right amount of spice and not over saturated in grease. I will say that I was somewhat put off with the slicing of portions for things I really liked such as tandoori chicken, but being a buffet, youre more than welcome to go back up for seconds. The food is also always served/kept very fresh, as we saw servers refilling buffet pans multiple times during each visit as well as having the accompanying naan and rice delivered straight to our table with copious refills on water while we dined. As for atmosphere, this place is never overly crowded or empty whenever weve gone, save for the last time when a birthday party was being held toward the back of the dining room. We didnt mind the screaming, sugar hyped kids running around so much as our server kindly let us relocate to a table that was farther from the festivities. All in all, I would definitely suggest this place to anyone whos curious about Indian cuisine but afraid to venture for it on price; $9.99 for their lunch buffet and the wide variety of dishes is a steal considering the smaller Tadka restaurant further into the center of town, or any other place in the Plaza.

I had a very bitter experience with this restaurant. Me my wife and my 2 yr old kid had dinner here. Food was fine. Nothing great. The problem starts with billing. I was given someone elses dishes charges added to our bill, which i rejected. Then I was given the actual one which was $40. After reaching home when I checked for my credit card account, I was taken aback. There was a debit for $1940 from this restaurant apart from the $40. I contacted the owner, Trusha, who told me that was a mistake which was hard to believe ,and the money would be refunded ASAP. I waited a couple of days then called her again, I got the same answer. Finally after 2 weeks , I got the money back in installments. I was not having peace of mind until i got my money back , just because of the reason that we chose this place to celebrate my wifes birthday. I would never go back here, as the issue was not resolved quickly and the owner of this restaurant (Trusha) with whom i was in touch to resolve this issue, was not very responsive and responsible.

Dear Sam and Trusha: Here we are four days later and my guest still have not stopped talking about the delicious food you provided us. Not one single complaint about the food have I heard as of yet! The Kati Rolls were such a success that people keep asking me where can they get more. The Shrimp that was served during cocktail hour, people want to know the spices because they stated they have never ate shrimp that tasted so yummy. The LAMB CHOPS were so flavorful that we can still taste it. One guest said this had to have been the best food they have ever ate at a forget Indian wedding but wedding in general!!! You guys went above and beyond for us to make sure everything was perfect and more than enough with the food and for that with the bottom of my heart I truly THANK YOU!!! Believe me when I say, I will be referring you to every person I know when they need food for an event. Thank You so much for everything the two of you did for us! Our eventful was as successful as it was thanks to you!!! Mrs. Augustine =)

NOTE: After adding my review (on 17th October) you can see suddenly 3 (5 star) reviews (on Oct 18th) came in. And that is what tells that owner is not honest. Instead of taking the responsibility and fixing the problem they are trying to cover what they have done. Bad reviews are not a bad thing but manipulating them is bad. Please say sorry and fix the problem dont hide it. Dishonest people. The place is very nice but the people (owner) are dishonest. We had a party here and they had the good food but they mixed old stale food in fresh food. From starters to desert everywhere they mixed stale food. When we started the party some guest complain about their spring roll but other said it is good. And by the end of the party this was the problem with at least 3 dishes (1 starter, 1 entry and 1 desert). They charge good money and they can charge 2$ extra but they should not do whatever they have done. people can get sick. End of the day if business is not honest they should be discouraged and that is why this review.

If you are looking for a best quality of indian food, Great Ambiance, Pleasant atmosphere and very friendly yet professional staff - you must visit Mausam. I really enjoyed my visit there with my friends. When I wanted to give compliment for delicious food to the chef, I happen to talk to the owner of the Mausam as she was there at that time. When I just mentioned that we are there to celebrate one of my friends birthday, without even saying anything to me, she arranged a small cake for my friend and waiting staff brought it lit with candles. That was a very kind and wonderful surprise! We were touched and felt very welcome....!!! and yes, the cake was really yummy...! Would definitely recommend Masuam- no matter what the occasion. You will have a great time, fantastic service, delicious food and you will feel welcome...!!

We had such a great experience in Mausum. I had organized a birthday party for my son at the banquet hall for close to 50 people and the entire experience was stress free and enjoyable. Right from dealing with Trusha, the manager who was very helpful and accommodating to each of my requests to the experience on the day of the event, everything went by so smoothly. The hall was set up neatly, food was served on time, food was very tasty and the staff were so helpful throughout by taking away the soiled plates frequently. Our guests had a great time and were praising the food and the entire experience. I am glad to have organized the party here and it was a stress free experience throughout. I would highly recommend the place to organize a party.

WASTE OF MONEY -- FILTHY QUALITY OF DINE IN BUFFET FOOD went for weekend buffet and spent 40$ for family(3) The food was horrible and not even heated up. Eating almost daily on Lexington Ave NYC and Indian Street Newark Ave, the standard of mausam dine in was complete waste of time and money. On complaining for quality of food, the management did not even let chef visit our table, instead sent 2 college fools to preplanned stand up apology. This might be serving lowest hosting avenue for parties but definitely a sure shot NO GO for dine in. SHAME !!!!!!!!!! for running such a expensively sub-standard tasteless quality Indian food corner. STOP posting FAKE good reviews @ Mausam Paid Loosers

Delicious Indian Food!!! I have been to Mausam Indian Cuisine a few times. Their food is fantastic. The atmosphere is great and the service is great. I enjoy their menu, especially their Gobi Manchurian and Alu Tikki Chaat. I ordered Hot & Sour soup and it was perfect test for me. I loved theirBhindi Ka Nasha and Kadai Paneer. Their drink menu is great and variety of selection. Im not heavily into alcohol, so their various smoothies and non alcoholic drinks are wonderful to indulge in. For the Dal lovers, try their Dal Tadka and Dal Makhani!!! You can really taste the fresh ingredients and sumptuous flavors. They are a class act all the way! I cant wait for my next meal at Mausam!
