Google wouldnt allow me to post the review without at least a 1-star rating, otherwise I wanted to not give any ratings at all. Heres how it happened... I was craving dosas, and a google search directed me here. I was so excited to find a place like this close to my home. I went to this place with my mom, hoping to dig into the dosas and idlys. Huh! First off, the ambience sucked -- the place was so hot that even the table fans werent useful. For the life of me, I cant understand why they couldnt just have a nice AC going on. We were looking forward to the food, so didnt bother about that. We placed our orders and waited for over 30 mins. Every time either my mom or I went around to ask, they told us that our order was next, or on the grill. But when the stuff came out it was for other tables. Upon further enquiry we were told that the other people had placed orders over the phone, which wasnt true because we saw those people come in and place orders while we waited for our food. For the most part, they just kept on ignoring us. Peeking into the kitchen is simply not recommended either -- it is dirty and unhygienic. I still do not understand what we did to offend them. Ultimately, I just lost my appetite, and I told them to cancel the order, and walked out. The lady behind the counter then followed me to the door telling me the same story -- that our dosas are just about done etc. I had no interest in losing my temper. They just lost a foodie customer who would have given them lots of business.

Never again. If I were given the option to eat out of a dumpster or this restaurant, I would gladly accept the dumpster. Even worse than the food was the service. After being in the business industry, I will tell you: the customer is always right. In other words, respect the customer. After telling the staff the food was taking an hour, he did not even utter an apology. He only tried to justify how there were "too many orders" before us, and mind you there was only a family of three beside us at the time. As more customers came in, so did their meals. We were waiting and waiting, with no apology to say the least. Once our food finally arrived, it was so salty, as if they forgot our meal, and quickly rushed a curry to make us quiet. The chicken looked like leftovers. When we told him the food was salty, the staff took his unwashed finger, shoved it into the curry I was initially planning to take home and add yogurt into to remove the excess salty taste, and licked it off his finger. I was petrified at the lack of common sense he had, at least grab a spoon! Also to be mentioned, all the plates in that functioning dumpster are made of styrofoam. Cheap, cheap. Hot food + styrofoam plates is the equivalent to cancer. When I said he was going to lose a customer today, he said he never has. He should check out the other reviews if he hasnt. Never again will I step foot in here.

I was looking for caterers for my sons first birhday party. I had tried all the famous Indian restaurants near me for the job and wasnt fully satisfied. Then on a hunch we called these people up and went for a tasting. Not only were the staff extremely friendly, the lady running the place came over to meet us personally and take our order. The moment we tasted their first dish, both me and my husband decided this is where we are getting the food for the party. We did not even need to taste the other dishes we wanted to have in our menu or even the generous discount she gave us. Needless to say they were all good and the price turned out to be much lesser than we had anticipated. They did deliver our food half hour late than the time agreed upon, but the food was a big hit. Their biryani is the most authentic mughal style biryani I have ever tasted in nj and the chicken tikka was heavenly. Since then we have become regular customers of this place. This place has satisfied our craving for proper authentic Indian cuisine near us ever since we left India.

Hands down, the award for The most unhygienic place, goes to Sri Ganesh Dosa House in Parsipanny NJ. I mean, the spatula with which the lady lifts the dosa off the pan, folds in the masala and again uses it for the next dosa is left lying everywhere possible, on the cashiers side of the counter, on the dirty table where the tiffins filled with dosa batter are kept! And God knows what else sticks to the spatula! We went there for the first time on a Monday at 11:45am and there was no crowd, reason mightve been because its a monday early afternoon. The advantage we had was we could see how they were managing the "mess". The coconut chutney tasted like there were spoilt coconuts used in it. The sambar, although free, tasted like watery juice of spices. The orange chutney was completely eeekkk! My poor bangalorean husband felt sad for the masala dosas and several other dosas in the menu being served in such an unhygienic & stinky place. Oh and theres no date on the bills...what did they think they were running, a road side dhaba for truckers?!

The best samosa arround.better than rajbhog and edison..even better than long island .. OTHER PLACES,,, most of other samosa are fried in dalda (hydrogenated oil) and they add methi leavs to mix(not good).mostly warmed again microwave on order where it becomes soggy.. This samosa is fried to order wth thick crispy and thick crust wth great filling which taste close to rajasthani/delhi samosas..open kitchen doesnt look organised but everything is made right in front of you(what else can be better) more over kitchen staff is mix of punjabi, hydrabadi, northindian, which helps to keep taste authentic like home cooked and not a lot of cream, msg or other crap in food..nice to see all parts of india cookin together...so experience is not like a upscale restraunt but its like eating in kitchen nxt to mom cooking.

Self-serve place, employees are rude and lazy. The first time I went, the lady at the register didnt even tell me how or where I get my food and was so rude when I asked where the napkins were. She didnt even bring our food to the table, she called me from the register. The food was not so bad and the prices were reasonable so I thought Id give it another try. The second time I called ahead for a pickup so I wouldnt have to deal with eating there and when I got there 20 minutes later, she didnt even tell the chef to make the food yet. Now, Im literally sitting in my car waiting for my food. Would NOT recommend, terrible terrible terrible service!

Timings -------- I believe this is the only Indian restaurant in surrounding area which stay open until 10 pm. I even remember ordering around 9:45 pm and staying in until 10:15-20 pm Food ------ Food is not great but not less than good. Keep in mind, food is spicy & oily. Make sure to tell them to keep it mild if you dont like spicy food. Environment -------------- Doesnt has a fancy seating arrangement to eat. its decently clean and comfortable environment to eat. Conclusion ------------ When youre hungry late in night and want to eat Indian food that wont hit your pockets hard, head to this awesome place.
