My 3 star rating is only because of the waiter. The food was great and the decor and ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful. I came here this past weekend for my birthday with a party of 10, we showed up 15 minutes late because who expected snow and crap weather in the middle of April. Anyway, we were seated right away and at first the waiter seemed just very talkative and quirky so I didnt mind. After he took our drink and appetizer orders he somewhat disappeared for a while and came back balancing a huge serving tray overly filled with our drinks. Instead of walking on the open side of the table and reaching over to place the drink he went on the inner, more crowded, side of the table where he lost his balance and spilled the entire tray all over my two friends laps, their jackets, and the table. He quickly escaped leaving the bus-boys to clean up. He NEVER apologized and came back as if nothing happened. (Im not looking for free-bees, I have a job and have no problem paying for what I want but he never compd us the drinks after bathing my two guests in alcohol. Side-note: Isnt comping restaurant/bar etiquette if you spill stuff all over guests?) Moving along... Dinner went okay-ish. We got over the incident and resumed to having a good time and at the end my sister ordered a dessert and asked for a candle to be put in so everyone could sing "Happy Birthday" but instead he wrapped the tiramisu in a to-go container and slipped it in my take out bag and brought out a bowl of whipped cream with a candle in it. Ummmm I hope Im not the only one who finds that strange... I feel this would have been a 5 star review if the waiter was more aware and had better sense.

Where to begin?! My wife and I are wine lovers and we generally tend to go to BYO restaurants. Basil Ts is the ONLY restaurant we go to knowing they we are not allowed to BYO. Bryant, the manager and Sommelier, has put together an extensive wine list in all price ranges. We rarely spend more than $36 a bottle and we have never been disappointed with his recommendations. But Basil Ts is more than wine for us. The food is another story. Everything they make is homemade. we always order their Caesar salad (homemade dressing to die for!) and one other app. If you like fresh made pasta they have a lot of choices to pick from. Last night we both order the steak (not on the menu) and it came with spinach and a side of pasta. DELISH! The portions are big and so is the flavor. Personally my wife and I have no bad things to say about our experiences there. From the wine, to the food, to the atmosphere to the service we love it all!

The biggest problem with my experience at Basil Ts last night was when I asked for a house salad. It was just a salad, nothing special, until I got the check at the end of my meal. The salad cost $15.50, which was only $2 less then my pizza that I ordered as my main coarse. I am not a cheap person by any means, if this was a special salad of some sort or had chicken in it I could understand. This was not the case, it was just an ordinary salad with greens, pomegranate berries and some kind of nuts and topped off with cheese. I just found this to be completely ridiculous and will probably never eat there again just out of principal that they sell a salad that might cost them 30 cents to put together for $15.50. Besides the whole salad incident the food was good. I had an order of 2 meatballs which were delicious. I also ordered a pizza that was just okay, you can get better pizza and cheaper pizza at a pizza parlor.

Went with a reservation on a Thursday and glad we did! It was packed, but we sat right away. The atmosphere is great! The whole vibe of the restaurant is unlike others. The beers they brew on location are great, the food is out of this world good. Everything that we have tried since finding this restaurant is absolutely delicious and worth every penny. We had calamari, siciliano rice balls, egg plant parm and chicken parm.. delicious! Best of each entree weve had. The service at this restaurant is perfect. From the managers to the wait staff, everyone was happy and energetic. I loved the fact that the manager walked around filling glasses of water and speaking to guests. It was not overpowering and obnoxious in any way. I cant say enough great things about this place. From the second we walked in to the second we left, it was a great experience. Cant wait to go back!!

Love everything about Basil T.s Very fresh food.. good service..although I like to eat at the bar, the bartenders are not that enthusiastic at times) nice atmosphere... But, whats with the dumb, cheap "Parker Rolls" they serve with their dinners? You pay a lot for your food and drink here, and they serve you cheap dinner rolls with your Italian meal. Vic, you can afford a nice Italian bread, cant you? Its kind of unfathomable why they dont serve decent bread. Ruins the whole dinner.. and ambiance with they give you those things. If you push your place as authentic Italian, "Big Vic-style, etc, etc, then ya gotta have good Italian bread, silly! :-) I go to Basils at least once a month. Spend a hefty 100 bucks in there for dinner for me and my husband. You kind of expect everything to be pretty classy there. Pat Dumas Fair Haven, NJ

We love to try the beers (today - their dry- hopped Irish stout), but also, the atmosphere is warm and comfortable. Their pasta is truly excellent, though excect to pay at least $20 for it. Theirs salads are large - a half order is double the size of an ordinary cereal bowl. I had the mesclun mix salad, which came tossed with a lemony vinaigrette that had a refreshing basil flavor. It included fava beans and almonds, which was a nice plus. This place is about 2 hours' drive from us, so it's more of a "date night" special destination rather than a place to drop in with the whole family.

Amazing service and comprehensive menu, love the chicken franchise its top notch, also the waiters are friendly and well prepared as well the managers who are attentive, if you want to impress some one special. Go to Red Banks best restaurant and thats coming from someone who has seen many of the incredible towns restaurant, all there deserts are fabulous and all made fresh. If you havent been to this place you live under a rock. Every year Basil Ts is hopping with people on the night of the fireworks. Beer and fantastic service mix quite well. Enjoy(:

Awesome. One of the best dining experiences in the area! Some reviews denote its pricey, but compared to what? Fast food chains?? Which it definitely is not. We ordered 3 delicious pasta specials at $23/ea (eggplant and pasta, mushroom raviloi) and an awesome pork chop special at $29. One of the best chops ever tasted. Super friendly hostess, knowledgeable, polite and attentive waiter. (Tomas) When we were leaving every staff member said goodbye and thank you, even those who didnt serve us. Will go back for sure!
